Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory, central Australia. It lies 335 km (208 mi) south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs; 450 km (280 mi) by road. Kata Tjuta and Uluru are the two major features of the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park. Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara, the Aboriginal people of the area. It has many springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings.

Description | Geology | Fauna and Flora | Climate and Seasons
IT IS NECESSARY TO READ ALL OF THIS;
The setting is Ayers Rock, Australia. The entire area for miles has been sealed with a barrier and blockaded by several teams of Shinigami armed with memory devices and stunning devices, allowing no admittance of humans. All air craft will fly high above and will not witness anything. Hakase Hei, the 12th Division Captain, has sanctioned this place so that he may train for the Bankai of Kokoro no Kagayaki. However, he was only given access to so many patrol teams and so much time under the condition that he extend a hand to all Shinigami that wish to train. The ability to Air Walk and use Shunpo around the base of the structure has been disabled through a satellite probe meant to disrupt Reishi in the air, restricting the ability for a Shinigami to gather it into a usable platform or place it on their feet. This alone prevents Shinigami from simply jumping up to the top of the sandstone structure or using Shunpo to shoot straight for the base. At the top awaits the Captain, tirelessly training by himself, awaiting for any contenders to step forth and be his opponent. The Shinigami limiters have been released, allowing all to tap into their full potential and leave room for growth. Any joining Shinigami were given instructions by the teams patrolling the area. The instructions read;
I wait at the top of this magnificent structure, training diligently. You may use whatever means necessary to reach the top, but do not bother trying to Air Walk or use Shunpo, for you will find that impossible to pull off. Seek me out, and I will guide you along the path of greater power. Once reaching the top, you attack at once. Do not hesitate, you do not wish for me to find you first. Do not be fooled, this is not charity. You will find it harder to use certain abilities if you rely on outside sources of power.
- Hakase Hei
The whole layout gives off the feel of something far too extravagant for words and simply brings the question; why would any one man go through so much trouble to simply train? The journey to the top of the rock is designed to prepare the Shinigami to materialize the spirit of their Zanpakuto. After which, it basically turns into a large fight of Hei versus the others as the spirits guide them and they hone their skills.
Within your posts, state your location in terms of how far away you are from the foot of the structure. (Everyone starts out 1 mile from the base, but in different places) Place it in the top of your post. Once you reach the structure, state how high you are on it. (it is 1,142 ft high) Once you reach the top, it is no longer needed. Note that any one person shouldn't reach the top in their first post. Feel free to be creative to flex your abilities a bit while trying to reach it.

KATO MEISHI “Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you...”•xx • xx • [In a slightly wooded area... 1 mile away as preplanned]
Kato flexed his arms, getting used to the full extent of his power. It wasn't often that a captain ranking individual was allowed to release his power in the human world, so he wanted to savour it. There was a flash of light... Kanpata materialized beside him, then let out a cry and soared into the sky, almost out of sight. Kato craned his eyes to the sunlight to find Kanpata, but he was nowhere to be found. "You sure you want to attempt this?" Kanpata said, already knowing the answer. "The only way to get stronger is to push yourself to your limits....and then some. Plus, I wanna see first hand how good Hei is. I have a little.....question I wanna ask." Kato smiled and crouched, making his final preparations before he began his sprint. Kanpata sighed, then said:
"Very well, little one. Run safe, run fast. I will watch from above, waiting at the top. Seek me, and together we will give that arrogant b*****d the battle he has been looking forward to!"
Kato took a deep breath. His muscles twitched as the adrenaline coursed through his veins."Ready, set, GO!" Kato took off at a blinding speed. The trees wavered and bent at his speed. The dust kicked up a sandstorm as he ran. At this rate, he'd be at the base in a couple of minutes with tons of energy to spare. •xx • xx • “...Sadness flies on the wings of the morning and out of the heart of darkness comes the light.”

Atop Ayers Rock in the dead center of the structure sat a lone Shinigami. She was small in stature, thin bodied with little meat on her bones and slender long legs. She sat barefoot in the lotus position, hands in her lap with only the middle sections of her fingers and the tips of her thumbs touching. Excess long, pink hair that wasn't wrapped up in the bun atop her head, swayed back and forth in the little wind that reached this area. She was dolled up in a black long-sleeved shihakusho with a pink, frilly hakama-himo that was larger than normal, thus in pinned all fabric between her fair-sized and her waist tightly to her body. The Shihakusho sported frilled pink edges just as the hakama-himo did and were equally girly.
This Shinigami's name was Hei. Yes, the Shinigami was originally male, however, for extensive research into the body, Hei had taken this form. Already he was done with the 10-year old model and had completed the male series several years prior. The research was no more than a look into how different sizes of bodies moved. This data he gathered would enable him to learn and understand how other people fought. However, the choice of clothing was not hers. Her sister, Yuki, had seen her and all hell broke loose in the Hakase household as the teenager was chased around the mansion and forced into cute, girly clothes. Then her hair was put up into a bun of all things.
Yuki had let her bangs fall in her face and tied off several long strands in two sections to be slung in front of her shoulders. That was 17 hours ago, and still haunted her now. All was silent aside from the slithering of the Australian-native monitor lizard, Perentie. Such a creature was quite shy and didn't normally show itself to humans. However, as the Shinigami was no more than a spirit, she didn't even register to the lizard. This particular specimen ranged at roughly 7 feet long and was roughly 28 pounds. It dashed past Hei's positioned body and ran into a crack in the structure. The Shinigami's eyes snapped open and she was on her feet faster than what was thought to be possible and began dashing towards a place 75 feet away where a woman with long golden hair appeared.
A katana made purely of hardened light took shape in the Shinigami's hand as she moved closer, her features becoming blurred as she increased her speed. The sound of metal on fabric was heard as the two beings clashed and separated. Several feet behind the woman, the girl fell to the ground, sporting a large gash to her chest."You're too slow, Hei." The woman said, turning to face the Shinigami with closed eyes. She too carried a sword of light, but hers was covered in the Shinigami's blood. The Shinigami pulled herself to her feet and turned to look at the golden-haired woman. A scowl appeared across her face and she dropped to the ground again and assumed the Lotus position once more as the golden-haired woman vanished, seemingly to set up an attack once more.

⋆⋆⋆∥ELISIA xRIYU ☇【squadxfourxLIEUTENANT 】 [On the outskirts of a densely wooded area && 1 mile from base]
A girl stumbled out of the tight clump of trees and stopped after taking one step forward. Her hand had instinctively reached up to protect her eyes from the sudden glare of the sun. It was rather dark inside that area and she had not liked having to go around without being able to see too well. She seemed rather ordinary enough, if one did not count the fact that she had a zanpakuto swinging at her left hip, a pouch attached to her right and her startling purple hair. Shadowing her eyes, she could make out the figure of Ayers Rock. This was her destination and the reason why she was going to trek along this desolate place. It was pretty startling when she had been given the invite since she had rarely heard of Hei actually bothering to train other people. Then again, it could just be the fact that he wanted to train his Bankai. Needless to say, it would have to take a decent-sized army to take him down. His sister could do it, but right now, Elisia couldn’t really see her Captain trying to do something like that.
Ah well. At least, this would give her some sort of opportunity to work on her healing skills. After all, she hadn’t had much opportunity to use them. However, there was always the worry that maybe Hei might actually attack her or something like that. She wasn’t so sure that her fighting capabilities were as good as they were before. Memories of her little sister flooded her mind and she had the sudden urge to start screaming. She slowly extracted that thought and discarded it for the meantime. Being emotionally distracted would not be good for this sort of thing she was about to do. What was she actually thinking of doing? Scaling that massive rock? It would be pretty difficult to do it without Air Walk or shunpo, as the people, that had given her information, had said. To tell the truth, she couldn’t see exactly why Hei had decided to do something like that. Couldn’t he just train in the training grounds? Then again, that was just not him.
How were they supposed to get up that rock? “Power. Duh.” the voice of her zanpakuto’s spirit echoed in her ear. “You do realize most spirits would be encouraging at this time?” Elisia rolled her eyes. “Hey, I’m not the one who decided to give up fighting for healing.” Huang held up her hands in mock surrender and disappeared. Wonderful. This day was always shaping up to be a bad day. Rolling her shoulders back and forth, she tried to work the tension out of them. If she ran quickly, she should be able to make it pretty easily. While she wasn’t very powerful physically, her lithe body meant that she could travel relatively quickly. With a sigh, Elisia turned back to face the direction of the rock. Tensing herself, she sprinted towards the rock. Hopefully, she should be able to reach, at least, the base and then figure out exactly what she was going to do. ▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬

[One mile out. Sparsely wooded area]
A pair of Shoji Doors appeared near the edge of a sparsely wooded area. A few moments after the doors appeared they slowly slid open as a Hell Butterfly exited them, followed closely by the newly appointed Squad 11 Captain. She had left her Haori in her office, as she didn't want to let it be destroyed so soon after she had acquired it. As she stood there the Shoji Doors closed and disappeared behind her. There was one of the area guards who stood near her. No doubt Hei had some weird a** rules for the area and had a device that enforced them. There was no harm in finding out what they were before she went on.
She slowly walked towards the man who stood guard. "Oy." She announced as he approached him. "So what kind of freaky rules does Hei have set up for the area?" The man promptly gave her the note that had been left for all entrants by Hei. "So basically reach the tops by any means, however Shunpo and Air Walking are impossible to use. Sounds fun. I'll be off then." She chuckled and waved at the man as she turned around and crouched down low to the ground. 'Are you ready, Shirubaa?' The voice of her spirit echoed inside of her head. 'Of course I am. Now lets go.' With the final word of her spirit she pushed off the ground with all her might, instantly rocketing forward towards the base of the structure. She wasn't by any means the fastest person, however that didn't mean she was slow. Her form was blurred from the speed she was moving at. At this rate it wouldn't take her too long to reach the base. Climbing would be the more troublesome part.

KATO MEISHI “Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you...”•xx • xx • [Less than 3 meters from the base]
Kato jumped into the air and landed at the base. He sat down, looking at the sky. Seemingly to no one, he shouted: "How long was that? What's my time?" Kanpata replied, "...About 4 minutes. Not bad, Kato. Your time in the 2nd Division helped a lot I see..." Kato nodded and removed his sword from the scabbard and tied it to his back, throwing the scabbard to the ground. He also discarded his Captain's cloak, and the sleeves of his Shihakusho. He looked around, clearing his mind of thought and emotion. He took a deep breath and released all of his spiritual pressure at one time. The result created a huge gust of wind that blew back trees for hundreds of meters. He smiled and grabbed onto the rock face, hoisting himself up at a steady pace.
[About 800ft in]
Even though he was in peak physical condition, the sheer lack of air eventually caused him to sit on a shelf of rock and catch his breath. As he looked over the horizon, he spotted movement in the forest. But this wasn't wind. It appeared someone else was coming to train. But who was it? He squinted, but to no avail. As he looked, Kanpata settled down to his altitude. "Are you ready, Kato? You must keep going if you want to push yourself.."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going..." With a slight sigh and groan directed to the couple of hundred feet he still had to traverse, he put a hand back on the rock face and continued to climb once again, his anticipation at what lay before him increasing by the minute.•xx • xx • “...Sadness flies on the wings of the morning and out of the heart of darkness comes the light.”

Sitting patiently, the girl waited for the woman to appear again. By feeling the literal vibrations of light particles in the air, she could tell when those with a light affinity were approaching. It was for this very reason she had bested a cocky Shinigami who thought it wise to use light-speed movements against her. A big mistake on that particular Shinigami's part. Her chest heaved as she calmly breathed in and out in a rhythmic pattern that best matched someone who had just warmed up. The girl had tossed the fact of the gash on her chest to the wind; she was fine as long as her breasts had not been damaged, and they happened to be perfectly safe. Worrying about her appearance was another annoying side effect of having a female's body; there was no two ways around it and she had only just gotten past getting worked up over having a cut on her skin.
Opening her eyes revealed slitted pupils and golden colored irises, a large change from the pink irises she had been sporting earlier. A closer glance at her now smirking face would show another emerging result of Bankai; her canines had lengthened to form fangs and her other teeth were now sharp. The girl rose from her seated position and formed twin katana of light and spun them by the hilt, switching her grip to an inverted one. The woman appeared again, this time 170 feet away. Slitted pupils zeroed in on her and she feinted left, but vanished in a flash of light accompanied by a sonic boom, angeled a few degrees to the right. Light contacted with light and the clash of two containers of equally large powers shook the surroundings. The girl was crouching, 4 feet behind the woman, and holding the katana out next to her, also sporting a cut along her left flank.
"You are too slow-" The woman turned to face her and spoke the same words, but this time was cut off when she noticed that the girl had turned her head slightly and extended a finger from the katana's hilt to point at the woman's cheek. In shock, the woman looked down at the newly opened wound on her cheek that had only just begun to sting and leak crimson blood. With a smirk of defiance, the girl rose to her full height, 5'6", and dispersed her light weapons. "Beginners luck." The woman scowled and faded from sight once more, carefully rethinking her strategy. It was odd for Kagayaki to be acting this way, smug and hostile that is. However, Hei herself had instructed Kagayaki to not hold back in words or actions so that he may better himself. The girl looked at her own body for a few moments; it was so thin and frail looking that if she hadn't been a genius, she would never be able to use it. Several hours into the transformation, she had synthesized a drug to balance her own power and increase muscle mass without changing her outward appearance. It was quite necessary for this training, for such a weak body could never contain such an overwhelming power to begin with. It would be quite amusing though, when others would be taken aback that she could shatter a boulder with a single punch.

[Quarter mile out.]
Asami continued to move forward at breakneck speeds. Shunpo would have been a lot faster than her dashing, but it would have also been less fun, with less of a warm up for what was to come. As she neared the base she grinned as she jumped into the air a little bit. "Shiirudo." The knife on her arm disappeared, turning into thousands of hexagonal shards that ripped apart her uniform as it formed the outfit that made her Shikai. As the outfit was forming she threw herself into a front flip, aimed for her hands to plant into the ground. However before they could touch the ground her reiryoku was focused into her hands. "Hadō #58: Tenran." The Hadō tore into the ground causing large chunks of rock and wood to collide with the wind that surrounded her armor, however they were destroyed by the wind, negating any damage. The Hadō rocketed Asami up into the air just as it was intended to.
A few seconds later she cut off the Hadō and flipped herself right side up as she continued to move upwards and towards the side of the large area of land. Her speed rapidly fell as she came closer to the side of the large rock. As she reached the peak of the arc she also came to where she could reach the rock and she grabbed hold of the side, pulling herself to the large structure. At the same time her shikai was resealed, reforming the knife in its sheath. She was about half way up the structure. Not bad, but that still left the other half for her to climb up.

Masashi, Lee, Gobantai Taicho (A pretty much wide open area about a mile out.) Lee exited the set of double doors that appeared out of thin air his haori missing though he had the rest of his usual outfit including the scarf. Looking around without moving his head noting that he had arrived in a pretty much wide open area with just a few shrubs here and there. Walking forward slowly he looked at the nearest Shinigami holding out his hand to receive what the Shingami was offering before the Shinigami had even pulled it out. Looking the letter over and reading it slowly he simply tossed it over his shoulder after he had finished and walked past the Shinigami. Moving at a slow pace so as to not simply exhaust himself when he got to the top he eventually sped up to a light jog. The base drew nearer and nearer as he moved what wildlife there was paying no attention to the man since he could not be seen.
'This is a good opportunity to train Lee-kun. It will help you master your use of the ice techniques I have to teach you. Hakase-taicho might be cruel and not be in the mood to help but training with him will help you to better yourself.' It was that constant talking coming from her that had him agree to do this in the first place. Lee was not looking forward to reaching the top since he knew what awaited him yet the journey alone was likely to strengthen him. Reaching the base of the structure he glanced straight up seeing an opening in the rock formation that led into a cave about one hundred feet up. Taking out his blade he went into Shikai and pointed it at his feet uttering one word. "Sobieru (Rise)."
A geyser of sorts erupted underneath him and shot him up into the air not damaging him and rising at a rapid pace. In a short amount of time he reached the cave and stepped inside dismissing his Shikai then sending his Zanpakuto away for the time being. Carrying it would just add weight and he didn't need the extra weight slowing him down. Looking around for anything to use as a torch he quickly gave up and held his left hand out in front of him. "Hadō number thirty-one Shakkahō." The fire appeared but instead of shooting out it hovered above his hand providing him with light as he moved having done so by forming a thin barrier in front of it keeping it still.
Walking a little ways in he quickly ran into a dead end and after sighing headed back for the exit. Dismissing the kido he stood at the mouth looking up. "Bōgyōdō number twenty-five Bansōkō. Bakudō number twenty-six Kyakko." Literally standing on the structure straight out facing towards the top he began walking up. The bakudo was simply to hide him from view along with any reiatsu he may have been exerting so his approach would remain unseen. There were ways around the ability to walk up surfaces by using kido and it kept him fresh for when he did reach the top. It would still take him awhile to do so because of the pace he was moving at but he had the time to waste and the longer it took him to get there the more likely the others would be tired. (About one hundred and fifteen feet up.)

⋆⋆⋆∥ELISIA xRIYU ☇【squadxfourxLIEUTENANT 】 [ Fifth of a mile away ]
Elisia abruptly stopped at the base of the rock and instinctively looked up. A groan escaped her lips as she noted the fact that it seemed so much bigger when she was closer. Ah well. She would have to do this one way or another. After all, it was either this or turning back, knowing that she hadn’t even tried to get up this rock formation thing. It would be annoying to have to use Kido. Shikai might be a better bet and there was still some power left in her Shikai from when she had absorbed all her emotional pain before. That might be pretty useful, except for the fact that it would cause a hell of a lot of damage. She sighed. “Take flight, Huang.” Elisia whispered under her breath. After a controlled flash of light, the zanpakuto now turned into a massive axe, which she condensed into two smaller forms. Waves of fire flared out from the edges, but they did not touch her or affect her at all. She didn't have much time to get up. Using her axes as picks, she hoisted herself up easily.
As she reached the higher ground, she hopped into a nearby ledge where she could catch her breath for a bit. It was getting a little bit harder to breathe and it was likely that she was closer to the top. Cancelling her Shikai, she slid her zanpakuto back into its sheath. Her eyes squinted up Ayers Rock. She could climb the rest of the way up, even if it might tire her a little. There was no point in wasting her energy on her Shikai. However, she didn’t move for a while, mulling the options over in her head. What would be waiting for them at the top? You won’t know until you get there, you idiot. Huang’s voice startled her out of her thoughts and back into reality. Elisia grimaced. Unfortunately, Huang had a point this time. There was no point in staying for much longer, now that she was already started. Grabbing on tightly to a higher ledge, she slowly pulled herself up, getting closer and closer to the top.

Light particles flew about in the air as their swords clashed, illuminating their faces even more than the morning sun already did as the shinigami and her spirit leapt across the rocks, attacking each other at any given moments. Now they were currently locked in a power struggle; both women pushed against the other's sword to gain dominance. They stayed this way for several minutes, barely moving as if their feet were rooted to the ground. Then, both lifted their right leg and attempted to kick the other in the stomach. Two figures were sent sliding backwards and they locked eyes for several minutes, exchanging thoughts only. Then the pink-haired girl opened her mouth and sucked in a breath.
The woman was a bit taken aback, taking a firm stance as light particles were literally drawn into the girl's mouth. Down in her stomach, light particles began mixing with her Reiryoku, forming a loose ball-like blob. This blob then expelled itself quickly from her mouth as the woman arced an eyebrow at the girl. Upon release, the blob of light turned into a burst of light energy that was akin to a Gran Rey Cero, gathering light particles as it left her mouth in order to grow exponentially. The woman held her ground and the katana in her hand suddenly became much larger and slightly serrated; she switched to both hands to wield this weapon. With one downwards stroke, Kagayaki ripped through the burst, dispelling the accumulation of energy upon contact.
The Shinigami gave a look of annoyance and charged at Kagayaki as the giant sword changed back into a katana. Several clashes and cuts on each female later, the two girls could be found drinking tea atop the very highest point of the sandstone structure. Despite the fight that had been taking place, neither was wounded anymore. It seemed as though all of their wounds had been erased as there were no sign of them having ever existed; no blood stains and no scars. The girl drained her cup and set it down on the rock, using her pinky to cushion it first so as not to cause any loud noises when she did so. After a quick glance in Kagayaki’s direction, she looked down and shut her eyes.
"They sure take a long time getting up here..." Smiling, Kagayaki nabbed both tea cups and refilled them, pouring the steaming liquid from a thermos that seemed to have come from nowhere. After this, she pushed both of them in front of the girl, then stood and walked over to the edge where she could see a few Shinigami making their way up the rock’s face. With a girlish spin on her heel, she placed her hands behind her back, laced her fingers and beamed. "Yeah, but they are at least responding to your summons. Not everyone can move at the speed of light, Hei-sama." The girl scoffed and took a sip from the cup on her right, then breathed a deep sigh, one that held a mixture of annoyance and content. Standing, she too went over to the edge of the rock and looked down. "Don’t be foolish, it wasn’t a summons. I couldn’t care less if anyone shows up, to be completely honest. I merely did what had to be done in order for me to secure this area for me to train. It’s all in the location, after all.
That damned Tomomi forced me to do this, so I merely gave instructions, I most certainly did not invite anyone. Damned kids..." Rolling her eyes, she placed her hands on the ground and set a wall of light into the rock face that spanned all the way around the rock. Then, by digging her fingers into the earth, she caused the wall to slice the rock all the way around such that the 5 feet of the rock face simply began to come off. In a sense, she had shortened the circumference of the rock face by five feet. "If they aren’t careful though, they will die. Tough s**t for anyone that tried to climb that." Standing, she turned to walk off as Kagayaki marveled at the sight of the rock face crumbling downward, revealing one large, very smooth face behind it. Dust was now rising as sandstone fell to the ground below. She let out a low whistle, remembering the first time Hei went through something like that. It had been an instance like this that had forced him to materialize herself and Kagezume into the Soul Society to save her a**. That was when she began to learn Bankai, or at least Kagezume's Bankai anyway. Kagayaki had been quite picky about when she would let Hei obtain hers. It was quite different for them, actually; as Hei was perfectly aware of how to use it and what the capabilities of it were, she was just unable to use it.

Tetsunosuke Harasawa First Division's Lieutenant ◥ [One Mile Exactly from the huge rock thingy. In a barren area.] Tetsunosuke glanced up at the Hell Butterfly as it flew around his head then puttered slowly back into the Doors that lead him to a barren area from a large rock. "Looks nothin' like a rock..." He sputtered his words out as he finished rubbing the back of his skull.
Tetsu slowly started making his way toward the rock. His theory in life was to take it slow at first, and when you're about to reach your goal; might as well reach if first... As he slowly made his way toward the inselberg, Tetsunosuke noticed some other Shinigami Reiraku in the vicinity; including Captain level's. 'Man... I would like to spar with them, but I'd hate to work up a sweat and get my butt handed to me...' He thought to himself as he kept his slow and steady pace.
[right at the base]
After some slow walking, he was finally closer to the bottom of the rock. He stretched and yawned really big. He dug some sleep out of his eyes with his right hand as he yawned again. "Jeeeeez!! This will be a pain in the butt, really!" He exasperated his words. Tetsu slowly started to look for a good spot to start climbing. He decided he wasn't going to us Kido at all. Tetsu smirked some as he drew his Zanpakuto out and held it out directly in front of himself. "Rise Up to Life, Sakuzen Kosshi..." He said slowly and calmly. The sword turned dark as it grew forward and backward. The pole stopped first where it was only a few feet from his back now. The blade continued though as the long scythe blade was formed now. "I hope they don't consider this cheating... but." Tetsunosuke took a big squat and jumped about ten feet into the air. Then he took Sakuzen Kosshi into the air and sunk it into the side of the rock. He hung there for a moment and placed his feet on a firm setting.
His hair was in his eyes some as he looked for his next spot to jump to. He decided it would probably just be best to sheath Sakuzen Kosshi and climb the rest of the way. He was pretty good at climbing, almost monkey like. He leaped upward toward a large protruding rock. He was able to grasp it with his left hand. "Cr-rap!" He gritted his teeth as he struggled and wiggled himself up slowly then reached his right hand up to grab onto the same rock. After getting through that rough patch, most of the rocks were smooth and easy to climb up. He was pretty agile at getting up it.

KATO MEISHI “Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you...”•xx • xx • [Bout 100 feet left]
Kato heard the rumbling on the rock face and pressed his ear towards it. He smiled. "Time to try something new, Kanpata!" He let the slab of rock he was hanging on fall slightly, then summoned a 'clone', grabbed its hand and used the clone's forward momentum to rocket him up the length of the structure, staying in the air long enough to avoid the falling rock and land gracefully on the top. Without hesitating, he reached into his sash and threw four thin knives on a horizontal spread towards Hei. Meanwhile, his clone appeared behind Hei, fading into his view seconds before his intended spinning kick to the back of his neck.
"Bring it on, Hei. You wanted a challenge? Well, you got one."

[Half way up the rock] The rock began to shatter in front of Asami. "So Hei is up to something, no surprise." As she spoke she pushed off the wall, straight up with all her might. She was only half way up so this was going to be fun. She caught hold of a falling rock and used it to shift her momentum to the side so she could get her feet onto a falling sheet of rock. From there she pushed off and moved rapidly from one sheet of rock to the next, moving up in the air. 'You won't make it to the top this way.' Her zanpakutou spirit chimed in, stating the obvious. "I know, I've already got that covered." It was about that time when she reached the end of the rock that she could use to bounce between to climb.
[100 feet from the top] With amazing dexterity she withdrew her zanpakutou and threw it into the smooth sheet of rock. A second after the knife embedded itself into the wall she landed on it with a single foot, balancing herself on the handle for a moment before pushing off with enough force to dislodge the knife and leave a huge crater in the wall. "Shiirudo." Instantly the knife burst apart into thousands of scales. The scales trailed behind her as she cleared the top of the surface. As she cleared the area that was being manipulated by the satellite she could instantly tell that the manipulation of Reishi was once again possible. The scales were still moving to catch up and form the armor around her. Before it rounded the top of the rock Asami focused a sparse amount of Reshi below her feet and she burst forward towards Hei using shunpo. She appeared to his right already in mid-punch, aimed for her jaw.
At that point the scales finally caught up to Asami, however instead of forming her armor they reformed into the knife in her left hand instead of its sheath. She held the knife in a reverse grip and instantly swung it towards Hei's lower abdomen. It was aimed to pierce just above her bottom rib. She by no means expected any of this to land, it was simply a quick warm up. Before Hei would have a chance to retaliate she used the already focused Reishi to move backwards, only noticing the change in Hei's appearance after she reappeared a few yards away from him. "I must say, I prefer this body of yours to the other one." She chuckled as she prepared for the man.....er woman to make a move.

Calmly, the girl drained the rest of her cup and set it down in front of her as Kato appeared before her. She was in the seiza position and remained undeterred. Her eyes still shut, she breathed a sigh when he drew knives on her and tossed them. Her spirits voice chimed in her head, speaking to her via their telepathic link. "Horizontal spread, four knives in total." The girl dipped her head back, gracefully dodging said throwing knives by mere centimeters, using the knowledge her spirit had fed her to react without opening her eyes. Such communication was key to unlocking the full potential to one's Bankai. Dipping her head back did a lot more than allow her to avoid Kato's knives, it also allowed her to dodge his clone's kick.
The knife that went right over her head subsequently pierced the clone's body. Asami's punch came shortly after, which was also avoided by her head being back. Such fools they were to all attack the same place. With a low sigh, the girl righted herself and cracked her neck by rolling her head to the side just as Asami aimed a slash at her abdomen which she narrowly dodged by poking Asami in the chest and pushing her seated body backwards. The knife just barely nicked her hakama-himo, creating a small cut in the fabric. With a low sigh, she casually stood up and stretched, dismissing the spoken words of the two captains before her. Slowly she brought her right thumb to her mouth and drew her white katana.
She bit her thumb until it bled, then stuck her thumb to the blade's base and dragged it along the shinogi. The blade dissolved instantly and her Reiatsu spiked. The dark feeling she would usually give off had all but vanished and been replaced with a somewhat uplifting kind. White Reiryoku tinged with yellow danced across her body as a few changes were made to her body. Her irises turned golden, her pupils became slits and her canines lengthened. The tsuba in her had dissolved into light and faded into the wind as she began to walk towards the two. Unexpectedly, her body divided into two identical girls.
These were so far unlike Kato's clones that they made them looked like child's play. Both spoke in unison, creating a surround-sound effect as they talked to the Captains. "One word of advice; don't die." Both were gone the very second the spoke the last word. The one on the right approached Asami, appearing out of thin air a few inches to her right. She glanced to the side at Asami and gave her a quick look-over. She was silent for about 4 seconds, as if expecting the girl to say something, then she was gone again. Now several inches in front of Asami's now, arm pulled back with all fingers extended save her middle. She shot her hand forward and aimed to flick Asami in the forehead. The one on the left approached Kato in a simliar manner, appearing next to him, wielding a large Zanbato with both hands which she swung at his waist. "Throwing knives, how deplorable."
