Gino was pacing the floor of Gambino mansion. He had just been made the richest man on Gaia; his father had been murdered by Zhivago. How could this have happened? His father might have been a mad-man, and he might have had several arguements with his son in the past (half of which were concerning his current girlfriend, Jennie), but still--Gino had always seen his father as a good man. He had the best intentions at heart, and the mayhem he caused, it was never intentional.

Gino sighed, and slumped down into one of his father's favorite chairs. "Father... I miss you," he muttered, glancing at the note his father had left him. It was on the back of a picture of their family before it had been broken. A picture of him, his mother, and his father.

He decided to call a friend of his; a more recent one, actually. Devin and Gino had more recently gotten to know each other because of recent events due to a certain band. And a certain vampire. Well, two, if you counted Louie. But Gino never did.

A few towns away, the phone in Skin Tyte began to ring. It was close to the middle of the night, Devin's arm stretched towards the nightstand next to his bed, his hand reaching for the phone. Brandy Jean, cuddled in the blanket next to him, twitched slightly as she heard the phone in her sleep. The two, along with the rest of Gaia, were shocked of Johnny K. Gambino's death, and planned to attend his funeral the next morning.

Trying to make the least amount of noise possible, Devin slowly sat up, and answered the phone. "Hello?" he asked, his voice a bit hoarse from waking up.

"Devin, are you awake?" Gino asked, resuming his pacing. "I think I better head to Durem--I don't feel safe here. Not after--well, I suppose you know," he sighed. He hoped Jennie was oblivious to the trama that was going around Gaia and still spreading. "Do you think I could stay with you? Until I'm sure I'm no longer being watched... He stuffed the note into his pocket. It was a picture showing how his family should have been; if not for Zhivago, would have been. A happy, smiling family, together.

Gino, for the first time in his life, wanted revenge. He wanted revenge. He wanted to find who had hired the assassin; and he would do whatever he could to make sure they suffered.

"Could you meet me here in about an hour? Don't tell Jennie---she'll cry or something."

With a slight sigh, Devin thought for a moment. He knew the boy would feel panicked like this. Leaning his back against the wall, he nodded, even though Gino couldn't see him. "See you in an hour."

Devin heard Brandy Jean wake up, and ask him who was on the phone. "Gino." he explained. "He's going to stay here for awhile." Brandy Jean said nothing, and just scooted closer to Devin, who wrapped an arm around her. He knew she was too tired to care.

An hour later, Gino was outside the mansion waiting for Devin. He looked around nervously, and jumped a foot when he felt someone take his hand. "Hey," he heard a familar voice say, "I heard what happened." He turned to face his girlfriend, Jennie.

"Yeah--things really..."

"Suck?" Jennie supplied, pulling him into a hug. "Someone coming to pick you up? You shouldn't be out here by yourself, especially after what happened..."

"Devin's coming," Gino assured her. "But why are you here? You're in just as much danger--everyone knows we're together."

"Devin won't mind having a stowaway," Jennie said with a wink. "I'll just remind him of all the times I saved his butt."

"...It's the other way around."

Right on time, Devin arrived at the Gambino mansion. The building had a dark feeling to it, as if the once symbol of power was beginning to fade away. He saw Gino timidly standing at the front of the giant steps, an wasn't surprised to see Jennie by the boy's side.

He parked his car in front of them, and got out to greet the two. "Ready to go?" he asked.

Gino took another nervous look around, as if expecting someone to jump out of the shadows and attack Devin. He nodded in response, slowly climbing into the car. "Thank you," he muttered. "Let's go."

Jennie on the other hand, had no such paranoia. She went up to Devin and hugged him. "It's nice to see you," she said, pulling away from him, "well--it would be, if we were seeing each other on nicer circumstances--" she looked guiltily at Gino for a moment.

"Jennie, just get in the car. Before you get shot," Gino said.

Devin remained calm, knowing that Gino's nervousness could cause him to argue with Jennie. "How about we go back, and get some sleep?" Devin asked Jennie, and opened the car door for her.

The ride back to Durem was quiet. Gino, his thoughts filled with his father, Jennie, hers with curiosity, and Devin, trying to fit all of the pieces together.

Both Gino and Jennie knew they would never get to sleep; not tonight. Jennie, because she had drank several cups of coffee in order to keep awake, and Gino because he was worried about what would happen when dawn came. The events of the night would be by then all over the news. The newspapers, the news stations, the radio station that played one song each hour.

They arrived at the shop; and they got out of the car. A tattoo place had never looked so welcoming. Jennie laced her finger's with Gino's, and led him inside. 'You need to sleep," she told him. "You look exhausted."

Devin opened the door for them, and when he entered, found Brandy Jean sitting in one of the piercing chairs. In her pajamas, a tank top and shorts, she held a cup of hot tea, appearing tired, a bit cold, and wondering why Gino and Jennie were there.

Liam yawned as he set down the welder he had been using to fix a robot someone had brought him. He scrubbed a hand across his face, trying to get rid of his tiredness. He glanced at the clock, not suprised to see it was after midnight. Liam had far too many thoughts running through his head to sleep though. Liam was worried about Gino. He had felt horrible for kicking Gino out after the whole Overseer thing and now Gino's father was murdered. He hadn't been there to try to comfort his friend and for that he was extremely sorry for. But Liam was also scared. Who knew who would be attacked next?! What if it was Gino or his girlfriend Jennie? Or maybe even Edmund? It seemed as if no one was safe anymore.

Liam looked up as he heard the door to the shop opening. Maru entered the shop, closing the door behind her. "I thought I might find you down here," she said, putting her bag on the table. "Come on sweetheart, let's go to bed. We'll talk to Gino in the morning." She said, grabbing Liam's hand and leading him upstairs.

Jennie sat in a chair next to Brandy. "Hey," she greeted. It was almost like old times; almost like no one had been murdered. She decided not to ask about how Brandy had gotten back together with Devin; for what seemed (and quite possibly was) the fifth time. This was too serious of a matter. She looked to Gino and sighed. She felt so sorry for him.

"Come on," she said, standing up and taking Gino by the hand. "Honestly, you look dead on your feet--" she fell silent, remembering that it wasn't a good idea to reference to the word 'dead'. On the other hand, Gino did resemble one of his father's glompies; without the green coloring. He was pale and worn. Like he had run out of batteries. She took Gino upstairs before going back to join Devin and Brandy.

"I don't think he'll sleep," she admited. "Besides you two, I didn't know Mr. Gambino had any enemies."
