Speaking of mind-blowing facts!
Kogasa is a Karakasa; a one eyed living umbrella in Japanese myth.ZUN made her over all design blue (blue hair, blue dress, blue eye) but gave her one bright red eye to distinguish it from the rest of her. He was trying to give the effect of her having one eye without literally giving her one eye.
