In another guild a girl said we should put human life before animal life and that "God gave us the animals to do what we would with."
I wanted to hit her.
Just because we have a higher level of intelligence we're better? It just sounds so completely wrong to me. Maybe it's an atheist or vegetarian thing but I view animals and humans as the same. I view humans as animals and it just really doesn't seem right to me that she said humans should always come before animals. If you need to eat, I can understand eating an animal but to say our lives are more important just because we're human?

Humans first?
Nae. Go from the top of the food chain down. Keep the lions, orcas, and other tops in good shape. Then go down the line. In all honesty, what we eat is sort of...... Used to getting eaten. Their numbers can handle it. In fact, they sort of rely on it to counter overpopulation. Ours kind of rely on them for proper nutrition. And to counter underpopulation.
So.... Yeah. We're more important. Not because we think, but because of the wacky way the world evolved. 'Course, nowadays, I think we could deal with one hell of a lot less people.

I'd still rather save a person from a burning building than a cat, given a choice and I like cats.
I actually find it really disturbing when people pay for, like, $10,000 operations for their DOGS and their children go hungry/can't afford needed stuff because of it. wtf is that?
My family had a friend ask us for $600 because they couldn't pay the bills, my dad gave it to them, I sure as heck wouldn't have given it to them, not one cent. Number one, they're smokers, they waste money everyday, second of all, they had just done something to their dog that cost big $$$$, if they can afford to smoke and pay thousands for something for their dog, they can pay their bills themselves. If they can't, rethink your priorities next time, idiot. /seriously hates people that waste money and then ask people (or the government) to don8 in rl

"Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."
Dominion is an interesting word though.

If I had to choose between an animal's life and a person's life I'd choose the person. I don't care how much more innocent animals may be than people, a human's life is more important to me, personally. That being said, I still think it's very important that we take care of animals and try our best to spare them pain and harm.

Cho: That is pretty sick. There is the whole "protect your own" thing, you should have the instinct to care for your children.
Obviously most people would save a human's life over an animals. I would too if you said it like that but I asked the girl "Who would you save if you came across an known serial killer and a life-saving search dog?" She said she would save the killer just so he has a "chance of salvation."

Besides, the serial killer made up his mind to loose his salvation when he BECAME a serial killer, oh irony? But yeah, that's not me making up an example, that happened last week, on Tuesday I do believe.

Would the animal put you first?
I'd shoot a puppy in the face for five dollars.

Who will save your soul...I don't give a ******** what anyone says. My cat comes first and that's it. I make damned sure she has everything she needs but since I have no money, I b***h at my mom until the job is done and I take care after the products I need are handed to me. For instance, my mom said as soon as she gets her taxes, we're going to go out to eat. My response?
"No, we're not. The very first thing we're doing is taking my damned cat to the vet and making sure she is okay. THEN you can go out to eat."
I may eat animals, but when it comes to an animal I am taking care of that I consider my child, back the ******** off.
Now sure... if I had a child ( IF ) then of course I would do everything in my power to make sure he/she is alright but my pets are always in mind as well. If I have to spend thousands to take care of them, pet or child, I will. If I have the choice between bills and a serious surgery between my pet/child, your damned right I would pick the surgery over the bills. The bills I can pay later, especially if you have a legit reason. The child or pet cannot and will not wait.
Mr Rage -
Saying s**t like that just..... it isn't acceptable.. Seriously. ...after all those lies you told?

The n in an only comes to separate two vowels, because one vowel sound directly after another is kind of.... Annoying. Same goes with consonant. [/shot] Anyway: A known serial killer, or a life saving search dog? Burden of proof. Someone known to be a serial killer has a chance of not being a serial killer. But in the case that it was undeniable, then the dog gets off lucky. Such a guy would end up losing to a rainbow colored balloon.
