Dragon watching again. It did him no good, but he couldn't help himself. It wasn't something he had really wanted when he'd first arrived at High Reaches so many turns ago but now... now it was all he could think about. If a dragon didn't choose him in the next half turn, he would have to go back to his family. He couldn't stand that. Back to a place where he could only ever be seen as a disobedient failure. Back to a place where people like him were frowned upon at best. His family didn't know that about him yet, but they would when he looked physically disgusted at the suggestion of marriage, the one way he could even slightly redeem himself...

So here he was, sitting in the grass a good distance away from a group of Ghenzan dragons, dreaming to himself. He knew one of their queens had a clutch at the moment, and that it was due to hatch soon. What he didn't know was whether or not outsiders would be allowed anywhere near it. Even if they were, he didn't know if a dragon would choose him... Maybe dragons here were different enough to the High Reaches dragons that had always overlooked him to be interested in bonding to him. Oh yes, yes, it was all down to the individual... but maybe his individual was here rather than anywhere else in the world. He had to hope this was the case. If he didn't, he had to think more about what would happen when he was too old to Impress. He couldn't stand to look at that eventuality, so he wouldn't. Just ignore it for now; not very logical perhaps, but at least it kept him from despair.

Sighing to himself Fealty took a deep breath of the evening air, and tried to imagine flying with his lifemate. It could happen. You never knew.
