Just wanted to talk about avatars.
Have your styles improved since joining Gaia?
I'm not meaning "oh yeah sure I used to think Jaded Peasant clothes and flame pants were RAD" more "I used to wear ____ but I think I've earned a bit more taste than thowing random things together"
For instance, Hirun has become more punkish as of yet. I used to just do 1 color combos, then 2 color combos, but ever since "dress up as another avatar" and lending my Horns to Ash, I keep forgetting to wear them and I've had to change Hiru's hair back and the like.
He's also gotten kinda gruff. More tough looking.
How has your avatar changed?

Well, I used to be really noobish. Then I actually got some money and started to try and make myself look... Formal. It was my thing, of course back then that meant the tuxedo outfit from H R Weasleys. sweatdrop
Then the cash shop came out. I got the elegant gentleman stuff and thought "Hey, you know what? This is my kinda thing."
For several years I just had that one Avi that got built up on over a period of time. Not much really changed.
Then I saw... Someone wearing this hat. It looked good, so I bought it, and started to actually wear a hat. Suprisingly, despite being Hatmaster, I rarely wore a hat, as most of them look like they're just gently resting on my head rather than actually being firmly put on.
Then the black shirt came out, and looked alright, and this avi was created.
TL;DR My avi has got more formal and less stupid looking over the past few years.

i used to wear more hats. also cheaper items
not as much black x red x white
also I had different hairstyles
also I changed my eyes a lot
my inv hasn't changed much tho.

Photo's still a matchwhore, but he's been wearing more simplistic outfits as of late. And he's been trying to have some theme with what he's been wearing, rather than just a bunch of stuff. And he's been wearing fewer all-monochrome outfits.
Also, he's been wearing fewer skirts.
Basically making a new avatar is excruciating for me, and lately I feel like I've only been downgrading.

I used to use cheap clothes but try to make it look nice. Now I try to go for elegance and I match colors like crazy. I changed my hair color once too. It used to be blue.

 This is where I started. Pure teeny-bopper. I started by changing my eyes to red, and starting to dress in all black and red, and made my hair black. I was fairly goth for a while. Then, I began to spice it up with different items and weapons, along with collectibles and other awesome items. At one point, I always wore a Nitemare Headband because my girlfriend at the time gave it to me as a gift. Later, I quested for Demon Horns and now wear them all the time. Finally, I started trying different hairstyles. I like the Masquerade because it allows you to really change up your face. I currently go for a dark-glam look, with a little bit of fun thrown in. I think my avatar is pretty neat. :3

I started off trying to look exactly like I am now, without the machete and with better jeans than the starter jeans. This is because it looks similar to me IRL. I then began experimenting and started obeying costume themes, such as the squid items, etc. I then came back to this basically because I couldn't think of anything. I'm going to change again, but when I do, it's going to be a glorious change.

I used to have just my regular eyes, but then as I joined this place, my avatar took on the meaning of the wearing of masks as the Scorpion Clan does in my CCG/RPCG which is: "We wear masks to tell the truth", and because of the new moral in the retelling of the Scorpion and the Frog: "That nothing is ever as it seems."
Since then I have worn a mask at all times, be it just changing my eyes, to a full on mask.
Also I have had a strange addiction of wearing the wigs that come with some items. Sometimes a person doesn't want to pay 8k just to change hairstyles.
[EDIT:] Also, I seem to have at least one animal companion with me too xD

I started out with a challenge: I told Draconissa I could start on Gaia and within 2 weeks have a white themed avatar that was both simple and looked great. I succeeded, and since then my avatars have generally been a progress of various improvements to the white theme, generally white and gold. Most improvements have been a matter of expense, culminating in my purchase of a Mercury's Moon a week or so ago.
I occasionally branch out with a tech-themed, ninja-themed or steampunk-themed avatar. My favorite two are the white and the steampunk, definitely.

No, I don't really think my style has changed much in the years I've been here. Even my haircut has only changed once, and I vary between simple and fancy, but I always have that ineffable Mylian touch. And eyewear, because I can't see a damn thing without glasses.
And then sometimes I just say screw it and put on an I Am pose or something silly.

And many, many more. I've done a LOT since coming onto Gaia. Loved every avatar to pieces, then moved on when the season changed. My avatars reflect my obsessions and my mood at any given time of year, so they change at a pretty constant rate.
For a change though, I actually have a bunch of different outfits in storage for a rainy day, including some of the older ones above that I've repurchased for nostalgia's sake, as well as a few variants on the detective theme. Who knows, this style might be the combo-breaker for me. Only time will tell for sure.

I started out NEKONEKOKAWAII with fox ears I had gotten from a random pink box or wooden crate or something? Then I graduated on to simple matching, and eventually turned into a clutter/match whore. 'nough said about that :p

I have the evolution of my avatar for the most part on my profile. 8D Was a simple flame set dood with spiky hair in the begining. It was weird, but flame set always has a place in my heart forever and ever.
