Welcome to Gaia! ::

Ever since joining this guild back in 2005(I think), it's be such a great way to express my love for this game with people who share my feelings about it. Before, the only place I could do so was in the Chatterbox(didn't know about General Discussion areas yet) and I kept getting flames about it, especially comparing it to FF7. sad

Now, when I looked into Guilds at the time, this was one of SEVERAL FF8 guilds out there. Not just RP guilds, but other Fan Guilds as well. I don't think this was the biggest of them, but it was the most active. So I joined and got to know the captain and other mods at the time.

As time went on, I proposed several ideas to make the guild more active and advertised. The mods liked what I had to offer and soon after I was promoted to Crew(there were no Vice Captains or the option for them yet, so I had to talk to squaller16 personally about promotion). I did what I could and brought many people to the guild(including wasian_deity mrgreen ).

Shortly after wasian was brought on board, I convinced the captain to promote him too and soon we were both helping bring the place to life. During this time, the other crew members and even the captain were no where to be found, paying next to no attention to this guild. So I contacted all of them, requesting more activity. Most of them just said to demote them so they wouldn't be responsible anymore, and after all was said and done, Wasian_diety and myself were the only two crew members left, with squaller16 still as captain.

This was our time to shine. Working together, him and I brought many, many people to the guild and even began planning on our big project, the Triple Triad game. A short time afterwards, Triple Triad was THE feature of this guild. We had what seemed like tons of people requesting to play and guild matches going almost all the time. It was a sight to see. mrgreen

Alas, maintaining the game became too much for just two people to handle, in addition to the rest of the guild, so we looked around for someone to help us run this... and that's when Sembri came on board. By this time, the Vice Captain position became available and both Wasian and myself were promoted to these slots. With squaller16 being absent for quite a long time already, wasian_diety and myself were basically in charge of the whole FF8 Fan Guild. 3nodding

Then the inevitable happened, Gaia started to change. People began to leave, including yours truly. We all had things to take care of in our lives and unfortunately Gaia and the guild didn't rank up very high on those priorities... so I had to say good bye for a while. crying

I popped in every so often to see how things were going, but the sight wasn't good. The guild had fallen into disrepair, with postings of contests being left up for months, if not longer. I wanted to return and bring the place back, but I simply didn't have the time. It was sad. sad

The years passed. I moved all around, from apartment to apartment, from job to job. Eventually, we came to November of 2009... and the rest is history as you know it. wink

I...uh... I'm not sure why I decided to explain the history of the guild... but there it is. My thoughts are that this is a great place to meet people with the same interests as myself, especially when it comes to the game. 3nodding

The people I've met in here over the course of my time as a member have been incredible. Meeting so many interesting people on this site called Gaia has really helped shape who I am in the real world(as weird as it may sound). Some of the people I've met here I still talk to outside of Gaia, even after several years... and I hope those that I frequently talk to now continue to keep in touch with me as the years go on.

i joined last year, TVA found me when i was in the final fantasy subforum in the games discussion one day and he invited me, one thing i do know though, this guild has given me something to look forward too

*huggles back* i will stick around for as long as i can, i'm not giving up until i get my angelic sash (which will probably be never)
