Deirdre laid comfortably under a large oak tree that swayed silently in the mix of winter spring wind. She watched as a few fresh leaves danced lightly with the breeze only to be let down and settle on the moist green grass below, a play out of how she felt her life was. Life was like the wind and she was just a leaf to be pushed around and then eventually trampled on, or decayed.
A sigh escaped her lips as she blankly looked around with her pale lavender eyes that held many stories of sorrow. One could easily tell it had been what seemed like forever since they sparkled with pure joy, since they smiled like a summer’s day. Now, these days, they just looked dead and empty, like her heart.
That didn’t matter though. Deirdre was comfortable being alone and wondering. She was comfortable with her uneventful life and spending her days hiding away for who knows how long. In her mind, as long as the day didn't end up beating her down, then it was a wonderful day after all.

Aika loved the weather, she liked to feel the wind in her mane and the breeze under her little downy feathers. Someday soon she would fly in that same wind and greet her bird friends cheerfully~!! Today she was playing, as she had nearly every day she had escaped the wicker confines of her basket. She had told her mother she wouldn't go far but~ it was such a beautiful day~!!
She trilled a happy birdsong~ a happy note in the atmosphere was enough to perk anybody up~!! She singsonged while she bounded over the field of spring green grass, the color almost matching the vibrant green of her own little body~
~through the grass, through the trees~ look out butterflies and honey beeeeez~ I'ts Aika, It's Aika~ chirp chirp~!!~
She stopped suddenly, her rosy hooves digging into the dirt. She had spotted one~!! she imagined herself a cat, readying for the pounce~!!
Now the butterfly in question had just settled down upon the tail of a very sad looking mare laying by a tree~ but Aika was focused on only the bug. Focuuuuussss~~~
ATTACK~!! dirt and bits of grass went flying as she took off towards it.

Another breeze gently caressed the meadow like a mother's kiss. The vibrant newborn grass all seemed to move as one, like the tides of an ocean as the seagulls, or in this case butterflies and other insects alike, surfed the current with master like grace, each movement chosen carefully to get them to their destination.
The monotone colored mare's ears flick with the breeze flee past. Her almost platinum wheat like colored hair danced and bounced in the wind as she continued to look around, though she missed the singsong filly that had entered the area.
"Maybe today will be windier than I first expected it to be...,” she said while her eyes watched a pair of monarchs flutter by.
She shook her head and continued her peaceful day, unawake her relaxation would soon shatter.
Three...two...one...and BOOM!
"What was that!?"
Looking down she spotted her "attacker", a filly, a colorful one at that, with fur like the grass and hair like a field of wheat, or the sands of the beach.
Deirdre's shock softened with no stains of anger or aggrivation towards the child. She slowly straightened herself out and turned to the filly.
"Are..are you okay? What do you think you were doing trying to attack someone like that?"
Though someone else's voice would hold anger, Deirdre's seemed silent and gentle, as if she was trying to hold something back.
Deirdre's eyes sat wide as she sat tumbled on the ground in a pile of shock and confusion.

Aika looked up, puzzled~" cheep~!! i missed it- ehh...uhhh?" she looked up to see a black and white mare standing before her. Looking at her rather strangely. Aika clamored up and smiled like a silly child caught with their hand in the cookie jar " oh, i didn't see you there~ i'm sorry~!!"trills apologetically " i was huntin a butterfly..."
She looked at the older mare, she was for sure devoid of color, but she was pretty all the same, she had never met someone like her before, and it seemed to her that making friends was some sort of life mission.
Aika wiggled her little nose up at the Mare and smiled as wide as she could, her violet eyes sparkling and her emerald feathered wings fluttering at her sides " well, sorry 'bout bumpin into ye like that...i'm Aika ^^ what's your name?" tilts her head to the side " whatcha doin all alone here by yerself?"
