PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION
(Confidential)

Patient Information:
  • Name: Anonymous Roach
  • Date of Birth: Tuesday March 2nd, 2010
  • Referred by: Jack Gerrick
  • Psychologist: XXXXX XXXX
  • Place of Examination: XXXXX
  • Date of Examination: March 2nd, 2010
  • Reason for Referral: Mr. Gerrick wishes to test the mental capacity of the young runaway he calls 'Anonymous Roach', in order to determine mental functions and to separate from the revived Graveyard's deceased.
  • Procedures: Clinical Interview

Background Information:
Jack Gerrick seems to believe that the Patient, hereby referred to as 'Anon', is a runaway. After conversing with Anon myself, I have discovered that this is not completely the case. Anon insists that he came from a book entitled 'The Book with No Name' by an Anonymous author, that had pages of 'Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers' by Mary Roach tucked within. He goes on to say that for whatever reason, he found himself outside of the shop and, when faced with a strange blue haired woman, ran until he found the Graveyard. He has taken up residence and work there ever since.

Upon further investigation, he now has three others living with him in the basement crypt of the Funeral Home. Another male named Mrrh and two toddlers, Cheryl and Harry. Anon insists that they all came from items; A Shrunken Head, a Possessed Med Intern's File Folder, and a Bloody Pipe respectively.

Communication
  • Strengths: Highly skilled Listener.
  • Weaknesses: Can not directly converse if his partner can not read or understand common sign language.
  • In General: One of the first things I was informed of upon meeting Anonymous, was that he did not have the ability to speak. In his case, it is not mutism in any sense and stretch of the word, but rather...he quite literally has no vocal cords in order to produce the type of communication that our society takes advantage of. In the place of a voice, he uses either a notepad and pen, or his very intricate knowledge of common sign language.

Behavioural Observations:
  • Strengths: Can Function Alone.
  • Weaknesses: Unobservant to surrounding area when doing repetitive motions. Tunnel Vision.
  • In General: Anonymous seems to be a predominantly solitary being. He seems to be rather comfortable alone, and often becomes engrossed or lost in his work. General observations of Anonymous on the job shows that he seems to forget everything around him once he's started to dig. When asked later, he insists that he 'Just starts to think' and 'Then suddenly the work is done'. It should be noted that a few sure noises to pull him out of his reverie are as follows: The opening creak of the Graveyard Gates; Muffled groans from below the Earth, and the voices of Mrrh, Cheryl, Harry, Deimos or Jack. Unfamiliar voices go unnoticed until physical contact is initiated, or if they come within close visual range.

Cognitive Functioning:
  • Strengths: Adroit.
  • Weaknesses: Easily confused with modern slang.
  • In General: Even before performing the tests, it is quite obvious that Anonymous' state of mind is a little skewed from where a Male of his age should be. I believe that time away from an 'average' teenage life has sheltered him from hobbies, events and slang that those his age are accustomed to. When introduced to common slang, he seems to take the literal route to understanding it, which in most cases leads him to a misunderstanding. Outside of that, he is rather adroit, and tends to look at the picture as a whole, and usually takes the routes that favours his companion at the time, even if it means sacrificing what he was doing before coming across them.

Social / Emotional Functioning
  • Strengths: Loyal, Reserved, Generally Friendly.
  • Weaknesses: Shy; Does not like contact; Emotions are difficult, if not impossible, to correctly and solidly convey.
  • In General: Socially, Anonymous is quite shy. He does not open up very easily, but with the people he favours most (Jack, Mrrh, Cheryl, Harry and Deimos), he will tell them anything, proving that once he gets close enough, he is a very loyal person. However, no matter how close his companions get to him, it seems that he draws the line when it comes to seeing his face. When one of the favoured people hug him, obvious distress is evident in his body language, but he does not actively attempt to cover their eyes. When anyone else hugs him, the obvious distress is read as complete panic, and he will cover their eyes with his gloved hand and his entire body will freeze until they let him go. As a whole, he attempts to not touch anyone unless to get their attention. He also expressed to me once that up until recently, he had submitted to his fate of never having a friend; that up until Deimos and Mrrh, he had met many people, and none of which he had ever seen again. Despite this pessimistic outlook on companions, he still does not hold a grudge, nor is he unfriendly to the people he meets, with the exception of those who attempt to touch or remove his hood. The shadow over his eyes, linked with his mutism, makes it difficult if near impossible for him to convey the proper feelings; this general makes him come off as disinterested, unfriendly and secretive.

Diagnosis:
Despite this handicap, he seems to be able to function at an acceptable level. He needs to work on being comfortable with touch and closeness of others. It is recommended that he works to overcome whatever fear he has that keeps him from showing his face to the public; it would make social interactions much easier.

Respectfully submitted,
XXXXX XXXX

Jack Gerrick
  • Position: Night shift Supervisor; Unofficial Guardian
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday
  • Personality: Loud, boisterous and overly friendly. Doesn't take no for an answer.
  • Appearance: A very big man (height and weight!); lots of curly red hair, including a beard. Usually wearing a baseball cap, plaid shirt, dirty overalls and big, heavy boots. Probably in his late 40's or early 50's.
  • Thoughts: Jack took me in and gave me a name (which gave me an identity, despite the name's meaning). He's a good boss and learned sign language for me, but...once he decides something there's no diverting him from it. Which makes me feel...I don't know...like I'm taking advantage of him? I suppose I should be happy though, he did get them to put me on the payroll and to let me live in the crypt...

Cheryl Roach
Journal
  • Position: Daughter
  • Thoughts: Too damn cute. Way too damn cute. A lot of sass from such a small body though; I imagine she's going to be a handful. She's pretty possessive but...that's okay. While I have my reservations of being a Parent, I do know I would bury anyone who even thinks of hurting her.

Harry Roach
Journal
  • Position: Son
  • Thoughts: A pretty quiet kid...scarily like me in a lot of ways, both personality wise and physically. He definitely takes the 'Big Brother' route though, always trying to make Cheryl play nice or be polite. It's rather cute how 'grown up' he can be, while still being just a kid. While I have my reservations of being a Parent, I do know I would bury anyone who even thinks of hurting him.

Robbie / James
  • Position: Cheryl's Bunny Plush / Harry's Pyramid Head Plush
  • Thoughts: Creepy. Especially Robbie. James was given to Harry by Jack.

Others
  • Jesse Sharpe: Full Time. Works Sunday to Thursday.
  • Kevin Adbrieu: Full Time. Works Wednesday to Sunday
  • Chris Montgomery: Part-timer. Only works weekends.
  • Neil Roth: Funeral Home Director

Mrrh
Journal
  • Status: Cryptmate?
  • Thoughts: While I'm happy that he kept his promise to visit me more often...I have to admit Mrrh infuriates me. He has this stupid need for pain and always seems to think in the most pessimistic way possible. Still, I'm helping him through it, and I know he'll get better. Outside of that though, since he came to live with me...I don't really think I can function properly without him anymore. I think I need him around me. Especially since Cheryl and Harry arrived...

Deimos
Journal
  • Status: Friend!
  • Thoughts: Kind of...very jumpy. I'm amazed he braved visiting the cemetery to try and visit me...even if he did pass out. It seems he had a growth spurt around the same time I did, and while he seems to be a little braver, he's still got a long way to go. I'm proud of him though, and he can visit me whenever he likes.

One-Time Meetings
  • Bug: ([x]) - Cute Kid...but she scared the hell out of me. What kind of kid tackles people from trees? Ugh. I thought I was going to lose my hood...
  • Pilot: ([x]) - Made me a promise once that he was going to create something or other to give me a voice. I wonder if he forgot?
  • Quint: ([x]) - Sharp-toothed boy...I don't know what he was doing in the Graveyard, but at first he didn't seem too keen on me saving him from Zombies. We played Left 4 Dead 2...You know, I actually liked him. He has and understands personal bubbles.
  • Victoria: ([x]) - Girl I met at a grocery store. She hugged me out of the blue! I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life (Until I met Bug).
  • Xbalanque: ([x]) - He could understand me, and I don't know how. But oh well. Seemed like a nice guy?

The Graveyard
Very well taken care of by the staff, this Durem Cemetery is a wonderful and peaceful area that is perfect for your loved one's final resting place. Well, until night settles. Then there's a huge chance your loved one will get restless and try to revolt against the living. Luckily, the Night Shift workers are adept in respectfully disposing them! Like it never happened. Ever.

User Image
The Questionable Area
Every cemetery has it's 'creepy' area, and this one is no exception. Near the back line of trees, the tombstones and gravemarkers start to show their age...and that is where it gets incredibly creepy. As a whole, not a lot of people ever visit this area anymore. It isn't quite as abandoned as some areas and does occasionally have a zombie revolt, but this is the area that the gothic lover adores.

User Image
The Abandoned Area
Hidden in the trees themselves, this abandoned area used to be the main section of the Cemetery. The bodies in this area are just that: bodies. No zombies ever rise from this area, and unless you're interested in that sort of photography, nobody visits this area either. This is where Anonymous buries the very important items, as they will probably never be found by the curious passerby.

User Image
The Outside Crypt Entrance
The Crypt itself it mostly underneath the Funeral Home, but there is a large majority of it that extends past the size of the home. It has two entrances; a rather boring cell door from the employee section of the home, and this charmingly gothic outside entrance. Both entrance doors can lock from either side while being heavy and incredibly noisy, making it near impossible to sneak inside without passing right through the walls.

User Image
Inside the Crypt
In it's prime it was a well used and well cared for crypt, but after the Families of the Bodies held within stopped visiting, it became delapadated and run down. Before Anonymous' arrival, the Funeral home sought to change it into a museum or a storage area. They cleared out the bodies, gave them proper burials on the grounds, had electrical wiring installed with working lights, and were about to start construction on extra rooms. Shortly after construction began, a safety inspector shut the project down, as it was unsafe to have an area with no windows. The project was abandoned, but luckily they allowed Anonymous to live down there...so long as he doesn't let on to the authorities that it's his home.

There are three sections of lights; one set on either end and one in the middle, each set of lights of course has it's own switch. Usually, Anonymous will only use the very back lights, as it's bright enough to navigate and see comfortably, but dark enough to allow his hood to continue doing its job. When the lights are out, it is pitch dark; you can't even see your hand in front of your face. The cubbies in the wall are side enough to hold two adult coffins, and there are currently only four in use; two as beds (Anonymous/Mrrh, Cheryl/Harry), one as a bookshelf and more recently, one as a clothing closet. Because the entire thing is concrete, they are forced to use many thick blankets and duvets to sleep on. It's still not as comfortable as a real bed, but nobody has yet to complain...
