Stretched out upon a sun-warmed rock, Helaku was enjoying some time to relax. His mother was hunting this time, leaving him to rest for his next hunt. It seemed sometimes they did little but hunt, since it was difficult to bring fresh meat with them with out it...becoming not so fresh. In other words, rotting. Rotting meat did little good to either of them. Thus, frequent hunting was a neccessity of their wanderings.

Wingu was staring up at the clouds like always. He had really tried to listen to his mother about how dangerous that could be, but he couldn't help it. To him the sky was far more beautiful than anything else in the world. The sky was always changing, clouds came and went, bird flew through it, even the sky itself changed color throughout the day. It was just so - Oof! Shaking his head he looked to see what he had run into this time. Another rock, go figure. But hey this rock had something on it. Raising himself up on his back legs to get a better look his eyes fell upon a grey lion. "Hi." He said in a somewhat cheery tone.

Just as his eyelids were starting to droop, Helaku heard a small 'thump' below him. What on earth...? With a shake of his head to wake himself back up, he peered over the edge of the rock just as he was greeted by a patchy little cub. "Hello to you too," he smiled. "You wouldn't happen to know what that noise was, would you?"

Wingu gave the lion a sheepish grin. "Well I might know what that noise was." He did his best to think of something to tell the lion other than it was him running into the rock. Unfortunately his mind was blank so he just had to admit the truth. "I kinda walked to rock, so it was me that made the noise." He glanced about the rock that the lion laid upon for a moment. "What are you doing?

The cub seemed to be having some trouble deciding what he would say, so Helaku simply waited quietly until he was done. "Is that so?" he asked, leaning down to inspect the little guy's nose. "Well, you don't seem any the worse for wear, so I'd say everything's all right--you certainly didn't hurt the rock!" With a chuckle, he continued, "I was thinking about taking a nap, but a conversation is just as nice."

A smile grew on his maw. "With the number of times I have run into rocks they don't hurt me much anymore." Though he did really need to work on paying more attention to his surroundings than the clouds. That would come in time, at least he hoped it would. It did still sometimes hurt to run into or trip over things.
A nap, that didn't sound fun at all. But a conversation, now that could prove interesting. Then he realized that he hadn't yet introduced himself. His manners mattered, that's what his mother always told him. "I'm Wingu. Who are you?" He asked with a flick on his tail. "What do you want to talk about?"

For half a second, Helaku's smile froze as he inwardly cringed at the thought of running into rocks so many times. The next moment he was all smiles again, hoping he hadn't worried the cub. Surely he was exaggerating, after all. Cubs did that! "I'm Helaku. Are you from anywhere in particular, Wingu, or are you a wanderer like me?"
