Fruits Basket (Furuba)

Creator: Natsuki Takaya.
Start Date: January 1999
End Date: November 2006
Volumes: 23
It begins by following the life of Tohru Honda who is living in a tent without a mother or a father. One day, while on her way to school, she bumps into a house she hadn't noticed before. Little did she know, it was the house of "The Prince" at her school, Yuki Sohma. He is living together with Shigure Sohma, a . . . writer. The two find out that she is living in the tent nearby and offer her a deal. If she stays and does maid work around the house, she can have a room to herself.
Tohru agrees quickly and begins living with the two. Soon after, a boy with bright red (or orange) hair comes and starts attacking Yuki. He is beaten with ease, though it does create a hole in Tohru's roof of her room and a moment she will never forget. After crashing into Shigure, Yuki, and the boy (Kyo), Tohru is shocked to see them all change. Into animals. Shigure a dog, Yuki a rat, and Kyo a cat. After Tohru settles down, Shigure (in his dog form) explains what happened to her. Certain members of their family change into Chinese Zodiac animals when hugged by the opposite sex.
Oh, that explains it all. . . at least, it does to Tohru.
She quickly accepts this story and promises to not tell anyone.
Little does she know, there is more to the story then meets the eye,
and "God" may not be such a great friend.

What do you think about Fruits Basket?
-Did you like it, love it, or hate it?
-Prefer the manga or the anime?
-Did you enjoy the anime's music?
etc.
Pretty much what you thought of it.
Personally, I really liked it.
I found it to be extremely sweet and I loved the variety of characters.
The storyline is unlike that of anything else I've read and I the art is unique and fresh.
I personally prefer the manga because I think it went more in dept with the characters and I'm glad that it found a real conclusion.
And yes, I liked the anime's music.
