The day was early and the pup was off on his own exploring. Lorcan was always in the mood to explore and find out more about the world around him. The little pup was one of few words but his little mind was always going, thinking and wondering.
As the pup made his way towards the lake in his home his mind was wondering about the one thing that he had been stuck on for the last few weeks. Ever since his cousins had been born Lorcan couldn't help but wonder somethings. He compared his cosins to his aunt and uncle, and himself to his parents. Something didn't add up for the little pup.
Peca was just about fully adjusted to her new home, her rank and everything else. She was still on the other adjusting to her new position as a parent, a mother. It was a large adjustment taking care of a litter of pups, a set of pups that she hadn't even been able to mentally prepare herself for.
As Peca moved around the pack she spotted a little wild dog pup down near the lake. She smiled excited to meet someone new this was a pup that she hadn't been able to meet yet. She moved towards him, "Hello" she greeted him in a pleasant motherly voice.

Lorcan turned when he heard the greeting, he smiled at the hyena that had approached him. The young pup really wasn't one for social interactions, but his friend Kya had taught him at very least how to be polite, and civil.
"Oh hello" said Lorcan in a low voice for such a young pup. Lorcan was big for his age and he liked how deep his voice sounded compared to how his cousins voices.
"It is nice to meet you." he said to her, happily. He just sat there eying the hyena not sure what the next move was.
Peca smiled happy that the little pup wasn't startled by her at all. "Well aren't you polite." she told the little pup. "My name is Peca." she told the little one. Studying the little ones pelt she was fairly certain that he was one of Nya's pups, but he didn't know the little ones name.
"What is your name my dear?" she asked the pup, friendships could happen if one didn't know the others name.

"How silly of me." Lorcan laughed, "I should have told you my name sooner, my name is Lorcan, I am the son of Nya and Jua." Lorcan was very proud of his family, infact he was related to an extraordinarily number of the dogs in the pack.
"It is very nice to meet you Peca." Lorcan said had been getting better at being polite thanks to Kya and her lessons. "You are Xx'a's mate right?" he thought it was best to ask the hyena about her family, the pack was the type to put a high emphasis on family and most liked to talk about their families.
"Well what a lovely name you have my dear." she told the little pup. "I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your mother or father yet, but I have heard of them." Peca told Lorcan. Peca had been trying hard to get around to all the pride memebers and meet them, but her new pups had been keeping me busy.
She smiled when the pup brought up her family, he knew well enough what to talk about, "I am indeed Xx'a's mate, and we have a litter of pups." she smiled she liked a great deal talking about her pups, "They would be roughly your age."

"Thank you" Lorcan said with an odd tone in his voice, he wasn't sure after all if it was the right thing to say. But it was polite, and that was an accomplishment for him, he often came across as too gruff.
"The hyena pups are yours right?" Lorcan asked, the clearly where Peca's as she was the only female hyena in the pack and she was Xx'a's mate, but as Lorcan thought about it the pups didn't look much like Peca, she had so much white on her and well all the pups were so bright!
Peca felt herself giggle a little when Lorcan said thank you, there was nothing wrong with what the pup had said but at the same time the tone in which he had said thank you, it just wasn't the way you were suppose to say it Peca didn't think.
"Yes those pups are my pups. A roudy bunch they are." she said with a smile. She tried not to think to hard about why the pup would have asked if they were hers, her and X'xa were the only hyena family in the pack... her mind started wondering and worrying could others tell that the pups weren't hers? She didn't want the pups to know she wanted them all to be a family. The hyena started to get nervous and she was looking around trying to think of what to say or do about this potential issue.
She realized that Lorcan was still sitting right in front of her and she froze for a minute. "I am sorry my mind wondered off on me. " she said lightly though it was clear her mind was still sort of off in another place.

Lorcan studied the adult hyena really confused about what was going on with her, she was acting strange was it something that he had said. Lorcan was guessing that it was something to do with the pups, but well he wasn't one to bring that up he himself have worries and thought about the family he was a part of.
"Its ok I often get side tract." he said with a smile on his face, he was overly confident that that was the right think to say. "I have seen some of your pups but I have never met them before.... they seem nice." he said, he was felt what he said was an awkward sentence but he meant well.
Peca smiled "I tend to be qutie fond of the little ones myself." It was true the pups she called her own were very good at making her smile no matter what.
"You know we should make an agreement, I will introduce you to a few of the pups and you can introduce me to your parents." Peca thought that it was a perfect deal, she needed to meet more of the pack, and perhaps Lorcan would get on well with one of her pups.

"OK" Lorcan said with excitement in his voice. He was sure that his mother would be very proud of him and his new friend making. He was pretty sure that his mother often worried about him and his social skills, and there was always Kya who always pushed Lorcan to make more friends.
"I will lead the way!" the pup chirped as he turned and trotted towards his den. He hoped that someone would be home to greet them.
Peca nodded and began to move behind the pup who trotted happily it was the most excited that she had seen the little pup through out there engagement.
Peca thought carefully as she walked about which pup she would introduce to this wild dog, maybe someone who could bring the young one out of his shell.
