Switch and Kay were still moving things around; the Ospice family was moving upstairs and while most of the junk had been relocated, there was still a bit to go. It was Switch's turn to watch the shop and she absolutely loved having the break; she was sitting at her desk with her legs up, her arms folded behind her head. Xbalanque was upstairs, packing things into boxes and focusing on the bathroom, since two of the bedrooms had been cleared, the stuff in the basement.
"Hey, Kay?" She yelled from her desk, barely hearing the reply cry of 'what' from the young man upstairs. "I think we need a vacation after this, yeah?" Kay's whooping cheer was heard clearly; apparently a vacation was a wonderful, wonderful idea.

Delucca had made a decision to get herself a kid a long time ago. She hadn't been entirely sure how to go about it at first or really where to begin searching for one. Greloren had a kid, Quill had a kid, and she sort of felt obligated to get one so the little ones had some company when she dragged them to her house to make sure they were fed properly. Greloren and Quill were very nice, but had no idea about proper child rearing.
Eventually, she decided that she might as well just get one from the place where Ryan came from. At least the boy would have some similar company? Seeing as both Quill and Nadia were dragons, it made a bit of sense. So, with the funds and space set aside for this, Delucca went determinedly to the Curio Shop to see about getting one of those children. It couldn't be too hard, right? They were practically dying to get rid of them.
So there she was, a tall white and black striped woman with rainbow dredlocks, entering the curio shop. "Hey, are you Switch?" she asked, approaching the blue haired lady.

Switch dropped her feet from her desk and sat properly when the shop's door opened, smiling pleasantly at the newcomer who....was certainly interesting, to say the least. The first words out of her mouth made the blue haired woman suspicious, and even her stare confirmed it. Nobody ever asked her that unless they had something had to tell or give her. So far, this didn't bode well.
"...I am." She said slowly, suspicion still in her voice. "Why do you ask?" Her green eyes were focused on the rainbow haired female, trying to decide whether to fight or flee, so to speak. Flee meant leaving, fighting of course meant staying right where she was.

Delucca smiled, "Oh good. My boyfriend came here a while back and ended up getting an item that turned into a kid." she explained, "His names Greloren - sweet son, name's Ryan?" her tones were quick and to the point, so the other knew who she was talking about, "Anyway, I've been thinking about adopting a kid like that myself for a while and eventually decided to come here so Ryan won't be the only one in the family like that. So um........yeah. How do I go about this?"

Switch just stared at the woman, the suspicion absolutely fleeing from her face when Greloren was mentioned. It was complete surprise that replaced it, actually."Greloren...has a girlfriend?!" She gasped out in utter disbelief. "No offense lady, but I never pictured that man with anyone." Including friends. Of course, the last time she saw the man and seriously talked to him, he was abusing poor Ryan and pretty much made Switch hate him. The surprise left when confusion came around, and she stared at the odd woman.
She...actually wanted a kid from this place?
"Well, uhh...it doesn't work like that." You couldn't just walk in here and go 'I want one, gimme!'...at least, not that she ever knew. "I mean...the item's gotta want to come to life, and it's gotta want you as it's Guardian." Switch explained. The shop seemed to hear that the woman not only knew but wanted one, and didn't stop Switch from telling the truth like it usually did. Blinking, she waved her hand towards the shop. "Feel free to look around though, see if anything calls to you." She'd be able to confirm if there was going to be a kid, of course.
It was around that time that Kay came loudly down the stairs, stomping his feet with all the grace of an elephant. He was holding a box with one arm and was holding a couple of odd bottles with the other.
"Hey, Na? I found these upstairs, they're kinda weird...What's Lubri---" He paused, staring at the rainbow haired woman. "Oh, Heya!" It was polite to acknowledge others, after all! He waved his hand at Delucca, but Switch was looking at the bottles.
...Seriously, what were the Balcombes up to?!

"Oh that's fine. If it doesn't think I'm a fit guardian, or whatever, that's cool. I just figured this would be a good place to start." she said with a wave of her hand, "I mean, given how many places give out and force children on people, it shouldn't be too hard to get one eventually."
When Kay came down, she smiled again, "Hey there." the woman greeted, wandering over to see what he was asking about, which caused her to promptly snort. "Woooooooooow." she laughed, picking up a blue bottle from in there. "Flavored Lubricant, huh? Strange thing to find in a place like this. But considering what Ryan came from, I'm not really surprised."

"It is a good place to start...Like I said, maybe look around, something might be waiting for you." Switch offered before Kay came down the stairs. Sighing, she facepalmed then ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm really starting to wonder about the previous owners...there are a lot of...those things...lying around." Switch couldn't help the groan of irritation that escaped her throat.
"Hey." Kay repeated with a grin, letting the woman take the lubricant and watching her curiously. "What's it for?" He asked the two women curiously. Before Delucca could even think to answer, Switch gave a very flat, 'I dare you to challenge this' reply.
"You're not old enough to know yet." Kay just stared at her, then shrugged. With a sudden blink he turned to stare at the rainbow haired woman, his only brow lifting for a moment.
"M'kay then...say, I think you should take that home." Kay suggested, and from her desk Switch groaned again. She'd felt it too, that ping in the back of her mind that meant the item had latched onto a Guardian. Great. Greloren was going to kill her.
"Remember how I said the item chooses the Guardian....?" Switch said, hoping the woman could catch the hint. She wanted a kid? She got one. A lubricant one.

Delucca was way ahead of them, catching on from the moment Kay said she should take it, snorting. "Well, at least Ryan'll have a sister that'll be just like him." she said, amusement more than evident in her tone.
"Thanks. How much I owe you for it?"

"Or brother." Switch reminded Delucca; it was impossible, even for Kay, to figure out what the gender would be...but there was a good chance it was female, merely because of the item itself. "Nothing." The blue haired woman said with a sigh, lowering her hand to the table when asked how much. "I never charge for the items that are going to become kids; just no Returns or Exchanges." She said on habit alone, resting her cheek in her palm and watching the new Guardian.
Greloren was probably going to kill her. A lot. Speaking of Greloren...she should probably pay him a visit, and check up on Ryan. That poor, poor boy...

"Yeah or brother." Delucca laughed. "Dunno why I said sister - probably the title of the stuff seemed girly." she joked.
"Yeah I don't think I'll be returning it, don't worry." the woman stated, putting it in her bag. "I need to go stop by and see Greloren. Ryan just grew recently and I need to make sure he hasn't been being fed only pie or stuff that's turned moldy." she added wryly.

Ryan Grew? Moldy Pie? Yeah, she was visiting Greloren now. Even though Delucca was going first. The woman hid a twitch, but smiled and waved her fingers. "Good. I'll be here if you need me, have a good day!" Kay called out a farewell of his own, smiling.
That was...new.
