The vocalist glanced away from his friend, gray eyes searching the Pride Lands themselves for some form of distraction. Kai was close, too close for comfort. And though he bought the smooth avoidance of said million-dollar question, there was no telling how long it would hold up. Sure enough Kai could be oblivious, they all had their moments after all. But he was by no means unintelligent, which means after his mind brought him back to that idea, he'd begin to pull Ruki's words apart. And about that, Ruki wouldn't lie. He hadn't said no. "They did promise to come back, right?" He asked suddenly, head turning back to Kai. "Uruha, Aoi, Reita... They knew to come back here, right?" Perhaps if the mother hen started thinking about the rest of his flock, he'd leave Ruki alone long enough for the vocalist to recover. He wouldn't be in his right mind again until the band was whole, but a few moments to his own thoughts would be enough of a start he could pretend it... For a bit longer.

Kai was still staring off into space, or rather looking at the ground, sifting through the conversation he and Ruki had. Apparently the drummer was in one of his off-moods since he hadn't realized his friend hadn't given a flat out no, just... danced around the subject. It would most likely take Kai awhile to realize this though and confront Ruki about it, probably much to the relief of the vocalist.
But he was interrupted from his mental search for the cause of his friend's change of mood. "Huh? Oh, yeah they should be back soon... We always meet back up around lunchtime or... what we figure it lunchtime around here," Kai replied, blinking. Now his mind changed gears, worrying over the rest of the band, his friends. "Maybe we should head back, they might be back there," he said, getting up and staring at the fish.
"Um... Taka-chan, what are we gonna do about the... the fish?"

"Generally, I think you'd eat it." Aoi murmured, slinking out of the tall grass surrounding the riverbank with as much grace as humanly possible. Or, he supposed, as lionly possible. His necklace caught in his fur as he moved, a little painful but not much. Something he was fast learning to ignore, given he didn't want to loose it somewhere. And, well, had no way of taking it off anyway.
He let his mouth loll open in what amounted for a grin in this form at the sight of Ruki mostly undressed in the water, his red coat and gloves still on the bank. Apparently Ruki had the same thought as Aoi, to try and catch a fish to eat. However, it looked like Ruki hadn't tried so much as succeeded. He'd caught a fish. "Though I don't think that two fish will feed one of us, let alone all." Aoi hid his relief at seeing his friend, the last of them to make it to this place, alive and well. And furry. He slid his dark eyes over to Kai, glad to see the drummer still safe and attempting to get away with not touching the fish, and smiled. It really was... cute.
"Ruki... Taka-chan, good to see you." He rolled his shoulder is what could pass for a shrug. "At least we know you are aright now." A smirk curled his lips. "But we should have known you'd be last. Just had to have the dramatic entrance, had to make everyone worry." The smirk gave away the tease, lips curling over his bright white teeth.

Ruki frowned at the animals, considering his options. Release them, and have to catch them later- annoyance. Leave them and let them attract other predators- danger. Carry them to the den- hassle. He was saved from giving an answer by the timely arrival of another band-mate. Grinning widely, he shuffled back through the water toward the bank. "Hello Aoi... I'm glad to see you are well, even if you are so at home in this form it makes me want to drown you." And it did, sort of. There was an undeniable, natural grace in the elder's movement as he slipped out of the grass and paced over, looking as confidant and relaxed as ever. "Old man." He wrinkled his nose faintly, then shrugged himself as he stepped back onto dry, solid ground. "Well, without the lights and a screaming crowd, I had to work with what I had... One's entrance is vital, you know that... Fashionably late, and in fashion, if lions even care about such a thing." He gave a careless flick of his tail feathers, flinging drops of water back into the stream. "Not that it matters, since I always do." He considered the guitarist, then moved close enough to rub his cheek -thankfully dry- against Aoi's coated shoulder affectionately. "Have at the fish, will you? Kai doesn't really care for sushi, and we don't really know when the others will arrive." He moved to a grassy spot to dry, shaking the sand from his paws before giving a whole body shake -rather like a dog- to rid his clothing of water. "You know I didn't mean to make everyone worry, Yuu." He murmured softly, ducking his head. "I would rather have been with everyone then by myself..."

The drummer nearly jumped at the voice of his favorite guitarist, a silly grin on his face. Yes, Aoi was most definitely at home in this feline body, much more so than all of the others. Though personally, Kai would rather see him as a panther, dark, slinky, dangerous... it made the drummer shiver a little in delight at the idea.
But he forced himself to bring his mind out of his little fantasy there, back into the present time. Kai wrinkled his nose at the suggestion to eat the fish though, even so much as scooting away from the fish. He whined softly, not wanting to touch, smell, eat, or have anything to do with the scaly little bastards. He'd take a nice fat American burger any day. "Glad you could join us, Aoi-kun," Kai said with a smile to the older man. Lion. Whatever the hell they could be considered now.
He couldn't help but chuckle at Ruki, giving back a snarky reply to Aoi, and discarding the water on himself that clung to his fur. Poor, poor Ruki, a wet cat. It must be hell for the guy. "But you're here with us now, Taka-chan!" Kai piped in, smiling. It seemed he'd forgotten all about his little quest to figure out what he'd said wrong to Ruki earlier. The appearance of an additional member of their band and clique did wonders for distracting the mother hen.
"You guys can each have one. I'll... I'll find something else later," he said lamely, ignoring his protesting stomach that of course decided then to grumble, letting them all know he hadn't been fed yet. If only he could cook! Oh the woes of being a feline with no kitchen or opposable thumbs!

Aoi leaned in slightly to Ruki's greeting, truly happy that he had made it to the Pride Lands with the rest of the band. He seemed well enough to make jokes about his own arrival, so the singer couldn't be too worried about being a cat at the moment. Aoi had to smirk when he imagined what Ruki's initial reaction had been to waking up with paws. He watched Ruki shake himself off before he leaned out into a long stretch. It felt so different than when he was human, the muscles pulling and moving in different, interesting ways. At least it still felt good. "You've all always said I'd make a good cat. Guess you were right." He shrugged off the threat wrapped compliment and moved over to see the fish that Ruki had caught. They smelled like water and, well, fish. The sharp scent was making him hungry again, even thought he had eaten... that morning? "You need to eat, Yutaka." Aoi looked at him sharply, listening to his stomach growl. "We need a lot more food like this, and if you don't eat, you won't make a very good den mother, having no energy to chase us all down." Aoi smiled softly at him, rubbing his shoulder against Kai's. "I don't care if you don't like fish. Everything tastes different now anyway. Eat." He stalked back a few paces, away from the fish. "You too, Ruki. And once you've eaten, I can give Kai back his den mother mantle." He shrugged and slid himself to the ground, sprawling out in a lazy manner. He didn't think that Kai would actually eat the damn fish, and if he didn't, Aoi would, but it was worth a try. He wouldn't force the drummer to eat, there was no point. Kai could be the single most stubborn person in existence, when he wanted to be. "I don't want to take care of all of you asses anyway." He grinned, teasing.

"Yes, I'm here now." Ruki smiled as he glanced to Kai, nodding faintly. "And I'm glad.. It is much better to be with my friends, no matter what form we might be trapped in." And cats were most certainly not his favorite thing. Not even close, actually... One-eighty the other way, he hated the damn things. And now? He was one... Apparently he had really screwed up in a past life. Not that he could fix it now... All that remained was to make the best of this uncomfortable -and undoubtedly strange- scenario. At least the band was together. "It looks like we were right about you after all, Aoi..." The Vocalist shot the oldest band member another faint smile. "And I'm not that hungry, I'd rather you ate... Maybe if you set a good example, Kai will behave and eat too." He frowned as his forelegs reached out and he arched in a stretch of his own. A low purr trilled in his throat as his back realigned, a faint series of cracks the source of his momentary pleasure. Straightening, he glanced to Kai. "Would it be better if I found you a couple of field mice, Kai? You can't tell us you're not hungry.. You're a pathetic liar, and your stomach sounds like Uruha trying to sneak out of a hotel room in search of more alcohol..." He smiled affectionately. "Mice aren't raw fish.. And I know there are lots of them around here.. Granted, I'd need to find you the non-talking variety." The last part was added quickly as he glanced around again. He definitely didn't want to kill something that was going to beg for mercy or be cried over by family members... Damn it, how had this happened to him? He really wasn't cut out for this whole hunting thing... Fish were easy, fish were stupid.. Now mice and birds talked and he was a giant cat, and and and... Life just sucked sometimes!

Kai whined pathetically as both his friends told him he needed to eat. "B-but! They're fish! They swim in their own poop!" he complained, pouting as his ears and the flakes behind them, drooped. It gave him a rather sad and sour look, certainly befitting of his mood. He was not going to eat those... things. For one he was not about to get near enough to them to see them. And as if to prove that pointed, he backed up another few steps and sat heavily, glaring at the ditch.
Yes he was a horrible liar, but he wasn't about to eat a fish. Let alone two. "I won't. You can't make me Aoi," the drummer repeated, giving a rather childish shake of his head. Stubborn? Kai? Hell yeah. Though he did like the proposal Ruki offered, and Kai's pout faded a bit to make room for some hope. "Would you Taka-chan?" he asked, knowing he probably sounded rather pathetic.
To Kai, asking him to eat a fish was like... asking him to not be a den mother to the band. He just couldn't. "You're just trying to steal my mantle, aren't you Aoi? I know you've been wanting that from day one!" Kai snorted, though he smirked a bit. Aoi, den mother? That was a bit of a joke considering the guitarist needed constant looking after to make sure he didn't blow up at someone, and that he got home at a decent hour and got plenty of sleep.

Aoi rolled his eyes, considering the fish. Ruki had caught them without the intention of eating them. It was lucky that he'd come along when he had, he supposed. Still. Eating while the others did was rude, right? Or had those rules changed too? Shaking his head, he looked back at Ruki. "Have you eaten at all since you... woke up?" He didn't have a proper word for what had happened to them. How could one sum up the fact that they had shape shifted into giant, feminine cats? Waking up worked, since Ruki and Kai would understand.
He grinned at Kai, at the stubborn pout he wore. "I'm sure I could make you, Yuta." He purred, edging his voice with a soft, playful growl. "You shouldn't tempt me so." His voice edged out to soft laughter as he watched Kai's response. "Yes, Kai, I've always wanted to take care of a band of flirts, drama queens, and wanna-be-tough men." He rolled his eyes, reaching into the pit one of them had dug and hooking a fish in his claws.
"I don't care if you aren't hungry, Ruki. Eat something. Not everyone around here is friendly." He warned, having done a little of his own exploring. He bent down and picked up the fish in his jaws. It was a disgusting way to eat fish, but it was what lions did, after all, he supposed. He ripped a bit off the fish off, laying the rest on the ground and chewing slowly. "Not a bad catch, though."

Ruki couldn't help but roll his eyes at Kai's whining, even if a smile accompanied the action. It was cute in a rather exasperating way, as they all had each others best interest at heart... And if anyone was doted on as much as Ruki, it was probably Kai. Damn puppy eyes... The youngest member thought with a faint pout of his own, shaking his head sorrowfully. No way around it... "Aoi, don't try to make Kai eat fish.. You know he hates it, especially when it is raw." He sighed and stretched again. "I'll see if I can catch him a few mice before the others arrive, it's not a big deal.. I caught the fish for you and the others anyway... And yes, before you start worrying about me, I did eat..." Not that it was something he wanted to think about.. At least it hadn't been a talking rabbit, and it had hopped along at the wrong time... And Ruki had been hungry, and alone... And, well, turned out he could hunt. Who knew? Not that it was something he was going to dwell on overlong... He frowned faintly, tilting his head. "I'm a flirt, a drama queen, and a diva... Does that mean you'll only take care of me two-thirds of the time? What about when I'm being a b*****d? If you talk to Reita, that's fairly often.. Is that when you ignore me?" He watched the guitarist's careful rending of the meal, flicking his tail. "Maybe after I've found a mouse or two for Yutaka... But I'm not exactly starving right now, Aoi.. Really, it's ok. My stomach is much quieter then Kai's, so I feel his is the one we should be concerned with." Not everyone here is friendly? What did that mean? The vocalist frowned, tilting his head. "Did you run into someone who was less then pleasant, Aoi?" He smiled faintly at the compliment, but it was less important then wondering if they might be in danger from an actual threat or if Aoi was just worrying about things in general.

The drummer blushed obscenely at Aoi's insinuation, making the poor guy stumble over his words. "I-whu..? No!" Kai squeaked, shaking his head intensely. "No, no, no! I'm sure you couldn't!" he said, trying to ignore just how good those words sounded, coming from Aoi.
But Kai stopped watching Aoi as he nabbed a fish and ripped into it. Kai felt queasy just hearing the guitarist dig into it, watching probably would have made him faint. Or lose what little he did have in his stomach. Fish were gross and vile critters when not cooked. Cooked, they were edible. But uncooked was just nasty, at least in Kai's opinion. Not that it seemed to count for overly much with the rest of the band, apparently.
"Taka-kun! I'll do anything for you if you could get me some mice! Please?" the drummer begged, putting on another pout, just for Ruki. Kai was starving, and he knew the poor vocalist was probably just as hungry, if not more-so. It was just Kai's stomach was louder at the moment. Damn stomach. He did find it sweet though, that the two were so worried about him. There wasn't anything to be worried about though, except perhaps for Kai falling over from exhaustion and hunger. What a horrible time to be a picky eater, when you're a lion. A giant cat. Had he mentioned recently how awful it was to be a lion!?
