Standing alone in the center of the extremely large battle arena, Death looked around at the mass of civilians in the stands who had shown up for this wonderful occasion. The dome was closed and bright lights hung from the spherical ceiling; they illuminated the area so that the chuunin candidates could be more easily evaluated. A gentle echo could be heard from the crowd; thanks to the dome, sounds were amplified. The town would be able to see and hear every part of the first ever Chuunin Exam.
Silence fell upon the people as Death rose his hand as a warning that he was about to speak. At the top of his lungs, he yelled, "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Are you ready?!" The crowd roared in anticipation, hardly able to wait for the appearance of the contestants. "Help me in welcoming our third match: Amaranth Orien versus Haruko Tsubame!" This was the que for both candidates to make their spectacular entrances.

Amaranth glanced around nervously as she entered the arena, blinking in surprise at the sudden increase in noise. Nibbling on a biscuit in her left hand, the large genin looked around the area, amazed at just how many people had turned out for the chuunin exams. Resting the black metal scythe she carried on her shoulder, the short ninja made her way towards Death, her gray scarf hanging limply in the still air.
Reaching the arena's center, Amaranth quickly finished her biscuit and brushed off the crumbs before waving slightly to Death, "Umm... Hello" was all she could manage before the crowd's cheering rose again, the overwhelming noise obliterating any chance of conversation.

The sound of an object racing against the wind could suddenly be heard from the opposite enterence as Haruko entered the arena on top of a speeding shallow. Stopping at the center of the arena, the swallow bent backwards and flapped it's wings once to stop it's movements. As it settled to a stop, Haruko causally hopped off it's back and smiled at Death and Amaranth. "Wow Amaranth-san, seems just like yesterday when you were still my student. How time flies huh? Oh, and hi Death! Haven't seen you around in awhile, how have you been?" While waiting for a reply from her former teacher and student, Haruko raised her right hand and began stroking Rei's fur. "By the way Death, did you have to close the top of the dome? Rei and I had a bit of trouble flying though because of your decision."

Kyoma stood up from the crowd and punched the air with her right fist. "Yeah! Go Haru-chan!" She yelled, her voice echoing throught the walls of the dome. "Gambate, Haru-chan! Don't give up!" A few people looked at her as if she were crazy, but others cheered along with her. She gave a small smile, even though Haru-chan had gaven me tips on how to rest enough from my last match, I still feel a little exhausted.

Commenting at the entrances, Death said quietly, "Not as flashy as the others, but I guess that's OK." Then he turned his head to listen to Haruko's question. He responded, "Fighting inside will help you for possible elements of the Jounin Exam. I can't reveal any specifics though, so just know that it's helping." He smiled at her before looking away.
"OK, contestants," Death announced very loudly for all to hear. "I want a fair fight. Your objective is to disable or trap your opponent; get them in a position where they have to give up. Avoid any fatal wounds if possible. I will be watching from the side and grading you on your creativity, strength, adaptability, over all performance, and more. Please do try your best, and good luck to both of you."
A roar grew from the crowd; excited for the match to begin. Speaking at a normal level for the only the contestants to hear, Death suggested, "Make it interesting; make it flashy. The town's here for you, so you should at least put on a good show." With that said, Death rose his right arm straight up in the air and the dome filled with silence. He paused for a few moments, and then Death swung his arm down and yelled, "HAJIME!!!" With that, Death disappeared instantly and the match would begin.

Amaranth nodded as Death welcomed them, her entrance may not have been flashy, but once the match began, there would be more then enough time to show off...
Facing Haruko as Death vanished, Amaranth shifted slightly, moving into a defensive stance, her scythe planted in the ground infront of her, with the blade at about shoulder height, the metallic blade gleaming wickedly in the artificial light. Now prepared to defend against an attack, the large genin quickly created a set of handsigns with her left hand before closing it into a fist, a silverish glow surrounding it as she spoke softly, "Shourou Tama No Jutsu".
Raising her arm, Amaranth pointed it at her former teacher before opening her hand, causing a pulsing silver sphere to shoot forward, speeding towards the other genin. The attack was deceptive, it was fast and looked flashy, but currently, it only drained an almost negligible amount of chakra, occasionally cramping muscle. It's primary use was as a distraction, but the attack was also useful for an opening move, it's high speed making it an excellent ability to test the foe.
As the glowing orb rocket forwards, the silver glow around Amaranth's hand froze for a moment, then winked out of existence, the residual chakra used for making it dispersing into the air.

Haruko heard her name being called out by an all to familiar voice in teh stands and turned to give Kyoma a small smile before returning her attention to analzing the area. 'Though there's no sky roof, there's still enough room for Rei to fly around but his movements will be very limited as well.' Hearing Death's response, Haruko just simply nodded in understanding since she only complained in the first place to start some sort of conversation with Death before the match started.
As Death announced the start of the match, Haruko kept her eyes focused on Amaranth watching her movement's carefully antisipating her former's student's first move. Spotting the incoming attack, Haruko quickly responded by tapping Rei's side hard with her right hand, indicating for him to get out of the way before dashing off to her left to evade Amaranth's attack. Not knowing the effects of that technique, Haruko kept an eye on it as she ran to the other side of the field. As the pulsing silver sphere connected with the wall and saw that the area where the ball touched, paint began to peel off. '*whince* Seems like some sort of aging technique, best to avoid all contact if possible. Don't want to know what happens when that attack connects with people.' When Haruko was approximately 5 metres from the far left wall, she skidded to a stop and swiftly formed a set of handsigns before bending downwards and slamming her palms face down onto the ground. "Doton:Tsuchi Supaiku no Jutsu(Earth Spike)"
At first nothing happened but after a quick second of silence, the sound of rumbling earth could be heard from all around Amaranth right before earth spikes began to randomly shoot forth from the ground below in all directions.
{Hey Kiiyashi, sorry if I incorporated your attack wrong in my post but since it was an aging technique I just assumed that if it hits something other then a person, the object will still be affected and age a bit.}

Watching as her opponent evaded her attack and countered with one of her own, Amaranth had just started to create another set of handsigns when the first spike of earth erupted in front of her. Yelping in surprise, Amaranth started to dodge backwards when another earth spike shot up, smashing into the scythe shaft and knocking her backwards.
Stumbling away from the rising spikes, the short ninja hurriedly prepared another jutsu, slowing down time as she finished. "Hayai Toki No Jutsu", she shouted, before recovering her balance and running towards her foe, easily avoiding the rising spikes because of the manipulated time. As she sped towards Haruko, the large genin swung her scythe towards the ground, using the weapon to propel herself into the air, aiming a fly kick at her foe's chest. However, she underestimated the distance slightly and by the time she neared her foe, her feet were only at waist height.
((And to clarify the jutsu, Hayai Toki speeds up time for the user, so for Amaranth everything appears slower, while everyone else would just view her as moving and reacting faster.))
((No, that's fine. I probably should have mentioned that it would age other objects as well...))

Haruko was slightly taken a back when she noticed Amaranth becoming nothing more than a blur of several black lines marking the afterimage of Amaranth's moving figure. 'I recall seeing Amaranth use that technique against Kenji-san near the end of their student, teacher fight. This might get a bit difficult, even if I rely on sound alone, it'll still be difficult to track her movements.' Spotting another set of movements moving towards her, Haruko quickly snapped out of her thoughts and readied herself for Amaranth's incoming attack. 'It's hard to dodge when I can't even see her movements...' Suddenly thought, Haruko spotted her former student's scythe imbed itself into the ground and quickly deducted that a taijutsu attack was most likely coming her way. Not sure how much time she had left to dodge. Haruko did the only thing she could do. Jump.
Adding chakra to her feet, Haruko quickly leaped upward and strectched our her right arm while she whistled a signal for Rei. Gripping onto Rei's leg as he swooped across the field. Reaching into her pouch, Haruko quickly pulled out a bell and infused her chakra into it before swinging it downward releasing a low ringing sound. Haruko repeated that action a few time as she activated her genjutsu. "Earth Break" The moment the sound reaches Amaranth ears, Amaranth should began to see the earth around her break apart before she falls into a deep and seemingly endless pit. 'Don't know how long that genjutsu's going to hold but that should at least provide me enough time to come up with a plan.'

Amaranth silently cursed her plan as Haruko jumped, causing her momentum to send her flying into the ground, bouncing once before skidding to a stop near the wall, the impact sending her scythe flying off to one side. As she hurriedly clambered to her feet, Amaranth was just standing up when she heard the sound of a bell. Suddenly, the earth ruptured beneath her, large cracks quickly spreading and growing, revealing an endless abyss below the surface. She was scrambling towards the outer edge of the cracks, attempting to escape this new attack when she noticed the sounds.
Instead of a constant roaring of earth and splitting ground, there was a pattern to the cracking sounds and rumbling of stone. Quickly scurrying along another meter of so, Amaranth glanced up towards Haruko to see the light reflecting off a small object in her hand, it's swinging rhythm matching the sounds of the breaking earth. Quickly looking back down at the earth, the short ninja quickly moved towards the outer wall, moving at an angle so that her right hand would be hidden by her body. With her hand now out of sight, Amaranth performed a set of handsigns before quietly muttering "Toki Kutou No Jutsu".
The light seemed to dull slightly and all sound and movement stopped as Amaranth paused time. Quickly standing up, Amaranth glanced down to see the earth intact. She had been right, it was an illusion... she was quite lucky she had been right, otherwise she would probably be in the bottom of a pit by now. Looking over towards her foe, Amaranth ran around Haruko, grabbing the scarf from around her neck and tying a kunai to either end before swinging it and releasing. The now weighted black and gray scarf spun towards Haruko's back as time resumed, the kunai keeping it spinning and providing an added danger to the attack. If it hit, it would either cut her with one of the kunai, or the scarf would wrap around her and hopefully trap her for a few moments.
As the scarf left her hands, Amaranth lost control of her jutsu, causing time to return to normal. With time returned, the spectators suddenly saw Amaranth vanish from where she had been when she used the jutsu, and reappear behind Haruko, the weighted scarf leaving her hands as it flew towards the other genin's back.
((Wow... actually the first time I have faced an illusion in a roleplay... did I describe it correctly...?))

Haruko watched from her spot up in the air as Amaranth seemed to have successfully fallen for her genjutsu. 'You can never be to sure when facing an unknown opponent. Some people are really good at faking it when it counts, just like how Kenji-san was when he fought with Setsume.' Keeping a keen eye on Amaranth's movements, Haruko began thinking about how to go about fight her former student. 'The hardest part of all of this is her time techniques, whatever I plan, there's always a chance for her to use somesort of time technique and evade my attack. I just might have to improvise through this whole fight.'
Deciding that now might be the best time to attack, Haruko was just about to swing herself up on Rei's back when she suddenly felt everything around her freeze momentarily. Everything except her mind seemed to have stopped moving and Haruko subconciously knew what was coming. Just as suddenly as everything froze, everything began to move again. Surpised by the sudden time laspe, Rei lost control of his wings causing both him and Haruko to fall straight down for about a second before he regained control of his wings. But that one second was all that was needed for Amaranth's attack to hit. Though the attack was supposedly aimed for Haruko's back, the sudden drop caused the target to shift down thus changing it's target from Haruko's back to her left hand which currently held Rei's leg.
Haruko let out a small surprised gasp at the suddenly fall and was relieved when she felt herself being pulled up once more. Her relief was short lived though when she suddenly felt something cut across her hand causing her to loose her gripping and fall. As she fell, Haruko quickly shifted her body and added chakra to her feet to cushion her landing. No wanting to waste anytime, as soon as she finished focusing chakra to her feet, Haruko reached for her scroll containing her koto and summoned it out. Haruko stumbled a bit with her landing but other then that, Haruko survived the fall and was quick to get back to the fight. Adding wind chakra to her right hand, Haruko strummed right across her koto concecutively five times each time releasing a blade of wind at her opponent.
{Yep, that was fine, good work with the counter Kiiyashi.}

(Sorry bout the late reply,something was stopping me from getting to Gaia...)
Amaranth's eyes widened in surprise as Haruko summoned an odd instrument, before quickly playing a few strings. Running off to one side to avoid the attack, Amaranth had just started to prepare a counter-attack, a silver orb forming in her right hand when the blades of air were unleashed. With the silver orb flickering into existence, the short genin pushed her hand forward, aiming to send the aging shot at the instrument. As her hand moved forward, her opponents attacks started shooting past her, the first two hitting the ground where she had been standing, but the other three being on target.
One blade hit the ground by her right foot, dislodging a chunk of earth and sending it flying towards the outer wall. Another slashed her right leg, the tip of the attack creating a long, shallow gash as it glanced by her. The final blast hit the silver orb, causing a small rush of stale air as the wind attack aged and dispersed.
With her attack launched, Amaranth pressed a hand against her wound, hurriedly trying to asses the damage before she was attacked again. After a moment, she judged the wound minor, it wouldn't kill her but it could hinder her movements if it stayed as it was. Now puffing slightly, Amaranth completed a series of handsigns before breathlessly muttering " Sugi Toki No Jutsu." As the jutsu activated, Amaranth pressed her right palm over her wound, causing the bleeding gash to become enveloped in a silver aura before closing up, though the silver aura remained.
Quickly regaining her breath, the large genin formed a silver orb in each hand, now trying to end the battle quickly. The jutsu she had just used was not meant for healing and would revert after a short time, when it reverted though, was uncertain. Wincing slightly as she settled into a defensive stance, Amaranth struggled to keep hold of the two orbs, she still hadn't managed to stop them from interfering with each other yet and any attempted to launch them simultaneously would send them both spiraling out of control.

{It's alright, it happened to me as well awhile ago. Thought I was hacked, thanked goodness I wasn't}
Haruko watched with a calculating gaze as her wind blades flew towards Amaranth, Haruko tsked when she noticed only one of her blades deal damage to her opponent. Taking in a deep breath, Haruko debated how she should go about her next move. 'It seems like she's pretty much ready to finish this battle as well...let's see...' Stepping back, Haruko began strumming a soft melody while infusing her chakra into the vabrations created. "Sound clones." Haruko muttered under her breath as she continued playing the same soft tune creating 5 sound clones who all took an offensive stance. 'They're just illusions but they just might be what I need to force Amaranth-san to part with her two orbs. It's risky to charge when she has those two out. Besides, I was never one for close range battle anyways...'

Amaranth took a slight step back as 5 clones suddenly appeared and settled into an offensive stance, with the original Haruko still playing. Amaranth paused, two attacks to use and 6 foes to hit... how would she manage this...
Quickly looking around the area for something to use, Amaranth smirked slightly when she saw her scythe, now situated behind Haruko. Moving her left arm away so that the orb she held with that hand would not interfere with the other sphere, the large genin thrust her right palm forward, sending an orb towards the original Haruko. Digging into her last reserves of chakra, Amaranth completed a set of handsigns with her right hand, before pointing at her scythe and stating, "Sugi Toki No Jutsu."
With a small silverish glow, the scythe shook slightly, but remained in place. Focusing more chakra into her hand, Amaranth opened it, as if ready to catch something, and then waited. Suddenly, the scythe started moving, slowly at first and then speeding up, moving backwards in time until it reached Amaranth's desired location, her right hand. As the scythe moved towards Amaranth, it took the straightest path possible, which happened to be through the group of Harukos.
Now, with virtually no chakra left, Amaranth waited for her scythe to reach her, hoping the double distraction would give her an oppotunity to use the final aging shot she held.

{Hey Kiiyashi, just thought I let you know that the original is still playing on her koto because if she stops, then the clones disappear. Basically I'm trying to trick you into using your attack by making you think I have 5 physical clones out. They're actually illusions, sorry if it wasn't clear enough.}
