RP LOG between Kairu (played by nessiaing) and Lahna (played by Split)

Kairu had woken earlier than he normally did, the young cub had been having trouble sleeping lately. He stretched and made his way towards some pools in the swamp deciding to take a quick dip.

Since the murderer had been found Kairu's mother didn't have him quite as under toe, he was allowed to venture out here and there, however the cub wasn't as much in the mood to go around and seek out others to talk to.

The black and pink lion slipped into the pool of water, relaxing for the first time in awhile. As far as he knew no one was around. He sighed, if only life could always be this easy .

Lahna was on the other hand, out and about and ready to stir up some trouble of need be. She had been bored out of her mind with her siblings and bored out of her mind since tensions had ran low... since the murderer was found she could roam freely without her parents freaking out. She knew some stuff about the fellow who did it all, not much though. She only knew he was gone and good riddance. She padded along, her golden paws muddied up and dirty like she liked them to be. She wasn't the girly girly type, not yet anyways but her mother did insist on her keeping a nice appearance. She simply guffawed at that and went along with her tail curled over her back.

She figured she should at least tidy herself up a bit so she was heading towards the water, knowing she could simply submerge and get out and go back to her busy day... or busy-less day that is.

Kairu heard the other one padding over the wet ground towards him. He slinked low into the water trying to make himself invisible, he was unsure of who moved towards him and he wasn't sure he liked the idea of hoaving to talk to someone.

The cub had sank so low in the water so that only his nose and eyes stuck out from the water, he scaned the edge of the pool for whoever it was making there way to him, he prayed to the sprits that it was someone who didn't know who is father was.

Lahna yawned widely, shaking her tufted head as she neared the waters edge, not seeing him hidden in the water. She padded to the edge, gazing into the pristine waters with a smile at her beautiful reflection and the wings she so admired. She smiled, putting a paw into the water and humming a nice little tune. At first glance she looked to be a rather friendly young lady... yeah right.

She started to wade into the water, her blue eyes half shut in eagerness to get it over with.

Kairu perked up when he saw that the other was just a cub, he had hoped that like his mother there mother had tried to keep the whole scary events a secret from them, perhaps he would even be able to make a new friend, it had been awhile since he had made a friend.

Kairu smiled and moved up so that he was more visible in the water. "Hello" he greated her, in an overly friendly voice. He had a welcoming smile on his face. The girl ahead of him didn't look to threatening, he had hopes that this interaction would go smoothly.

WRONGO. As soon as he started to pop out of the water, Lahna paused in mid step and glared at him. Little stinker, hiding like that in the water... how annoying. She curled her lip up in a snarl. "What are you doing?" She demanded, her ears flattening. She pulled her muddied paws out of the water and stood on the shore, glaring down at him. "What is wrong with you-sneaking up on me like that!!!! How rude! You could have scared me into the water and I could have drowned!" She said, her blue eyes alight with anger.

Kairu was startled by the other lions acusations. He didn't know where to start how to respond what to say or do. He was froozen in the water. "I am sorry." he whispered, barely loud enough for himself to hear, chances were she didn't hear him either.

" I uh I didn't mean to scare you or anything, I was just enjoying a swim... I am sorry." he told the other cub. He was very nervous about their exchange now and she didn't seem as friendly as he had originally thought. He looked around him wondering if perhaps he cold get away from this whole interaction before it really began, before she realized who he was who his father was.

Lahna nodded her head. "You better be!" She said simply, stepping back into the water and wading in, her head held in a pompous position. She wasn't impressed with this timid little fellow. She walked until she was about up to her back in water and stood there, gazing at him quietly for a moment. "Do I know you?" She asked, sniffing inquisitively at his scent. She didn't really recognize him from seeing him before, but something about him... hm... She shrugged. "You probably don't know me... I'm Lahna. My parents haven't let my siblings or I out to be on our own since the whole murder thing, so thats probably why I haven't seen you before..." She said simply, shutting her eyes.

Kairu swallowed hard, he knew he was in trouble as soon as she mentioned the murderers. "I uh I... " he trailed of not sure where to find the words, he didn't want to implicate himself as the child of the murderer, but at the same time... hiding who he was could get him into trouble too.

"No I don't think we have met before. My mom kept me under pretty good wraps until recently too." he cringed. He wasn't sure if omitting his father from the story was a good move or not, he wondered if she would figure it out.... he didn't look as much like his father as some of his other siblings did but at the same time, his pink made it hard to hide his parentage.

Lucky for him, Lahna hadn't really ever met the murderer and parents didn't really go into the description of him. She wrinkled her nose. "So your not gonna tell me your name?" She said, sticking her nose out at him like she was pointing at him. "It's rude to not tell me your name too! I told you mine!" She said, wrinkling her nose at him. She didn't like having things hidden from her and he was acting really weird. "You okay? Sometime got your tongue?" She asked.

Kairu relaxed, perhaps this interaction would go ok. "My name is Kairu." he told her a smile on his face, he quite liked his name, though it wouldn't be his name for too much longer. "I am sorry to have been rude, I didn't mean to keep it from you."

The cub breathed a sigh of releif, never considering that his name could be a give away, he was unsure how many others in the pride knew about him and his parents, who he was or what he came from. Perhaps he could even talk to this other cub, once she saw he was nice perhaps they could be friends, maybe she could understand him.

Lahna blinked and nodded when he said his name. "Hello Kairu... Its nice to meet you... even if I am covered in filth" She said, dipping herself deeper into the water and lowering her muzzle into the water, blowing bubbles. "Its fine... I'm not that mad anymore now that you said it... I hate when people try to hide stuff..." She said, shaking off her head. "Just makes me irritated... "

Kairu looked at her, her invitation made it impossible to hide it anymore. "MY FATHER WAS THE MURDERER" he yelled. There was a mixture of greif and shame in his voice, but he didn't want to hide it from the other cub. Maybe she wouldn't look at him the way he felt everyone had been, maybe they still could be friends. He could hope any way.

He kept his gaze downwards, waiting to hear her response.

Lahna startled when he shouted and stumbled backwards, her paws tripping and she tumbled, her nose coliding with the water as she went under. She came back up sputtering and burbling, not even really remembering what he just said. "HOLY GHOSTS!! What was the point of THAT!" She said, a horrified and upset look on her face. Then his words dawned on her and she sat there, dripping and looking awstruck. "R-really?" She asked, cocking an eyebrow. "I don't believe you..." She said, reaching up with a paw to rub her eye.

Kairu was fully of shame "I am not lieing, but I am sorry for yelling. It is hard for me to contain it all sometimes, my father was the murderer. I barley knew him, my mother raised me and my siblings mostly on her own." Kairu looked down he was really very proud of his mother, and owned her everything.

"I didn't want to keep it from you, you seemed nice, and you said you hated when others kept stuff from you so I thought you should know. Though now I can see that there was probably better ways of telling you." he had a sheepish grin on his face she was taking it better than he thought she would then again, she didn't really believe him...

Lahna took a moment to look at him. He sure was a puny thing but she found something about him really manly for being able to stand up to her and tell her the truth. "I see... well... sucks to be him then huh.. didn't get to really know his kids and drowning in mud he is now..." She said, shrugging her shoulders. "He really should have had a bit of decency... considering you and your family are gonna be looked down on and stuff... what a jerk" She said, narrowing her eyes. "Well anyway, Kairu... don't be ashamed.. I wouldn't be... you didn't have anything to do with it! He's nothing like you-at least I'd assume..." She said, looking at him intently. "At least I'd think you arent."

Kairu felt a smile spread across his face, the first real smile he had smiled in a long time. This encounter was teh best one he had in a very long time. When she asked if he was anything like his dad he was quick to answer, "I am nothing like him, or well at least nothing like the little I know about him... which is basically he was a murderer. I take after my mom." he said with a smile.

"Thank you for being understanding, you would be surprised about how few lions are totally cruel and judgemental about the whole thing." Kairu smiled and tried to settle into the water again, the incounter was going well but he still felt a little uneasy about it, he couldn't help it so much had gone wrong lately.

Lahna smirked, shaking the water from her ears walking up onto the bank of the pond. She gazed down at him. "Don't thank me for anything. I am not being understanding I am being... me... I am telling you to be proud that you are nothing like him... at all... ever! Otherwise you will just give everyone what they want and thats a reason to hate you or suspect you of the same thing.. show them wrong!" She lifted a paw. "Or I'll have to chase you from the pride!" She said, clawing at the air with a grin over at him before sitting up and clearing her smile. "Well, be cruel right back... "

Kairu couldn't help but chuckle. "You are a breath of fresh air. " he said. "I shall have to learn from you my dear." Kairu looked around, the sun was getting quite high in the sky and his mother would start wondering where he was, she was worried abou him and his siblings more than ever with some of the tangled feelings in the pride.

"I have to get home, I hope to see you again soon." Kairu said to the female as he rose outta the water and shook the dropplets from his fur.

Lahna sighed, looking up as he did. She agreed that her mother was probably nervous about her being out so late. She nodded. "Yeah.. I should go. I was supposed to just take a quick bath and go back... so I suppose i should... " She said, looking over her shoulder and shaking off her fur. " I suppose I will see you aroun Kairu... hope to see you around anyway!" She said, standing and walking back the way she came.
