RP long between Kairu (played by nessiaing) and Wahadi (Played by Sarg)
Kairu had been keeping to himself. It hadn't been long since his father had been reveled as the murderer the one that was responsible for all the awful things that were happening in the pride, for the death of so many. Kairu walked around like he was on egg shells, he was afraid that others might be mad at him or worse.
The young cub moved into some mud, loving the cool feeling that it brought. Kairu who use to be so outgoing and friendly now kept to himself moving through the shadows of the pride. One thought always in his head.... 'What if I am as evil as my father.... What if I hurt someone.'
All morning Wahadi patrolled the den area. He marched dutifully with his head held high, ears standing straight up on high alert. Whenever he found an intruder, even a harmless swamp snake, he stomped right up to it and took command of the situation. What’s your name? What are you doing here? Do you realize where you were slithering? If they couldn’t answer his questions to his satisfaction he chased them off immediately. In the unfortunate case of the snake, Wahadi picked it up by the neck and hurled it into the water. When he spotted an adult lion moving along the border he stopped the older male and interrogated him very seriously, and he felt proud of himself because the older male took him seriously. (The older male thought it cute, but Wahadi didn’t know that.)
Wahadi scrambled onto a fallen tree to get a better look around. As he climbed higher a splotch of pink caught his attention. Realizing it was a lion, he leapt off the tree and made his way over to question the new intruder. This was something like a game to him but it was more than that, too. If the swamp murders had taught him one thing it was that the only person you can depend upon is yourself, and that meant taking his family’s safety into his own paws.
Soon he was close enough to see the other cub’s markings. It was Kairu, one of Semira’s cubs. When Wahadi realized that he started a charge and tackled Kairu from behind. He was smaller than Kairu. His small stature never stopped him before and it sure as hell wouldn’t stop him now. “You b*****d! What do you think you’re doing here?!”
Kairu toppled over when the smaller cub tackled him from behind. His size may be smaller but Kairu had been caught off guard. Before he could manage to figure out which way was up he heard the other cub was yelling at him. Kairu was confused.
When Kairu made it to his feet again and he was able to see who was yelling at him he saw that it was one of Kabu's nephews his heart skipped a beat, he had been dreading potentialy running into one of these cubs. "I am sorry." he whispered barely loud enough for anyone to hear.
He looked at the toher cub he might be smaller but Kairu felt dwarfed by the other's anger. He casted his eyes downwards he didn't want to look directly at him.
Though he was still a juvenile, Wahadi was already an experienced fighter. Ever since he was old enough to leave the den Wahadi had been scuffing with every cub that would fight, and so he grew up dodging, blocking and punching. The majority of these fights were simply games. Sometimes the fight escalated and Kabu had to drag him to the cub’s mother so he could apologize for giving another cub a bloody nose or a torn ear. He was hardly ever sorry. It was the other cub’s fault for making him mad.
Kairu’s apology was drowned out by the pounding in Wahadi’s ears. He got off of Kairu and stood in front of the other cub. He wanted to look into his eyes. Wahadi’s fur stood from head to tail, his claws glinted in the mud. “Look at me.”
Kairu raised his eyes to look at the cub who was calling him out. It was clear that the cub knew who he was, and Kairu couldn't even find the words to defend himself. "I am sorry Wahadi, I didn't know my dad was like that, I swear I am not like him I barely knew him..." the cub was rambolling trying to look for an appology even though he knew nothing could make this poor cub feel better, and he didn't even considerer that perhaps bringing up his dad was a bad idea.
Kairu kept his eyes on the other cub because he had been instructed to, but he didn't make a move at all he sat frozen just looking at the other cub, unsure of what to do next.
He wanted to make Kairu understand the meaning of real pain, but Kairu wasn’t fighting back as he had hoped. For now Wahadi held his ground. “Is that supposed to make me feel better? You’re sorry? My parents are dead because of your father, and they aren’t ever coming back!”
"I know" Kairu mummbled, the poor lion was in pure agony he didn't know what to say or do to make it better. "I HATE HIM TOO" he yelled finally, he didn't think that this would help the other cub at all but it was the first time he had vocalized his feelings about his father, it felt good to get it out, though inside of him Kairu was still worried that he too was going to be a murderer.
"I didn't know what he was doing, I didn;t know he was mad... My mother didn;t know either. We would have told someone we would have tried to stop him." Kairu was ramboling again
But Wahadi wasn’t listening. No words could heal the pain he felt inside, and he attacked Kairu almost before the cub could finish, biting his ears and clawing at his back. The wounds weren’t deep, but the attack was sudden and vicious.
Kairu could do nothing but whimper as the other cub attacked, her could feel his skin tear while the other clawed his back. It wasn't horrible wounds nothing that would kill the young lion, but it was more than just playing.
Kairu tried to pull himself away anything to get away from the angry lion who was now attacking him, "I am sorry." he cried, "Please stop you are hurting me." his pleas were feebale and full of pain.
Suddenly Kairu slipped out of his grasp. Wahadi started to chase him, slashing his claws through the air, reaching out to try and trip him as he ran. “Get out! Get out of here! I never want to see you again!”
Kairu didn't need to be told twice. The black and pink cub ran as fast as his paws could take him. He didn't look back but did he did shout, "I am sorry I hope you can forgive me one day." to Wahadi.
Kairu's eyes were filled with tears. To make the matter worse, all Kairu could think was that his father's victims must have felt something similar to that, but much much worse, there wounds had been fatal, ,he had killed them. The cub was shaking as he ran, he could feel blood on his back but he didn't slow down till he was almost home.
The little cub curled up in a ball under a tree close to his den and tried to clean his wounds he didnt want his mother to see him like this she had dealt with so much, he didn't want to add this to her plate.
As his lungs began to burn Wahadi slowly gave up the chase. Panting heavily, Wahadi found himself standing alone in the shallow part of the swamp, ankle deep in freezing water and surrounded by the buzzing of flies. Tears streaked down his cheeks from the wind and his own fury, he felt weak all over. He sniffled, shaking himself, and headed back to his family’s den to continue his patrol. Later he would bury himself in Kabu’s belly fur, but for now he wanted to be alone.
