Sentinel Hill was magical.
The knoll leading up from the 'bowl' was decorated in vines with winter flowers. Though it was bright daylight, this was a scene worthy of a human's night party. The Maman had spared no-one from decoration duty.
It had been a week since Tyrande had been chosen to be the Heir and since then she'd been training nonstop. The Maman was strick; she slept, ate, and breathed when Stormwind told her to. The young adult was about to rip her fur out. T'were it not for the party she might have done just that.
Stormwind watched as her daughter paced a tight circle before sitting near the dais prepared at the far end of the clearing. She sighed. Honestly, if the girl was going to be so moody about, was the chose even worth it? "Smile, Tyrande." She called up, snapping the girl from her thinking. "Be happy or you'll sleep with the spirits."
Whether she was lying or not was for her to know and for Tyrande to panic over. Turning around, she showed her grin to the awaiting forest before checking over their meal. Three large deer were stacked upon one another near the center of the clearing. She licked one. "Mm'hmm, still fresh. But it won't be for long.." Hopefully the other would show up soon.

"I feel change in the winds." The motherly dragon smiled lightly at her daughter as they walked to Sentinel Hill. "Stomwind did well with these decorations." She whispered softly to herself in faint awe.
Jem glanced at Astra from the corner of her gaze. Change? "If you say so." She replied lightly. Right now anyone could do or say anything and she felt like it wouldn't bother her. She felt so free and light at the moment!
Especially when she spotted some that she felt like she hadn't seen in forever - her sister and maman. Everyone was so busy lately. Jem smiled brightly as she walked into view, "Tyrande! Maman!"
Behind her was Astra who as always was walking with her graceful steps. The only noise from her was the soft jingle of a star that hung from her horns. But in silence more was spoken, especially as she gazed towards Stormwind.

Dryad could hardly contain herself. Practically the entire pack would be here for this celebration and it would be her chance to meet everyone and make new friends. She had gladly assisted in the decorating, since she had little else to do at the moment without any children to care for, and probably would have done the whole thing if left to it. Her eyes lit up as she caught sight of, not only the Maman but her consort and two of the princesses as well. The northern dragon hadn't gotten much of a chance to see the Maman, let alone speak with her. Hopefully she could change this and have a wonderful conversation with her. Unlike the other dragon, Kunoichi was far more subdued. She sat quietly at the edge of slowly growing crowd and watched the others interact. Though tonight was one for enjoyment, she was always in guard-mode. This would be a perfect time for someone to slip in unnoticed and cause harm to the pack and Kunoichi wasn't going to have any of that. A part of her wished she could relax and join the others though. There were a number of dragons in the pack she wished to know better, some quite a bit more than others. But she couldn't do that, she had to remain vigilant for the sake of the pack's safetly and if that meant she couldn't celebrate as thoroughly as the others, then so be it. She would just have to find out about her pack mates another time.

Sini slipped in quietly, having arrived late from guard duty and not wanting to advertise that she was late. Fortunately, she had slipped in by Kunoichi, the dragon she could relate to the most about their rank in the pack. "What have I missed, Kunoichi?" she asked softly in her deep voice. "Are all the preparations under way for the celebration of the Maman's announcement going well?" Sini was aware that Kunoichi had probably been too busy guarding the dragons here to really pay attention, but at least Kunoichi was a safe source of the cursory information Sini needed right now.

Stormwind looked over her shoulder with a charming smile and a light chuckle. Not only were her girls strong, but they were a pleasure to be around and never ceased to make her heart grow. "Look here! Who has replaced my scraggly daughter with a sparkling princess?" The Maman moved close to nuzzle up against her.
She looked up at her mate, a stripe of her mane coyishly falling over her eye. Much like Astra, she didn't vocalize her feelings about seeing her after so long a period, but they were there never the less. Stormwind whispered to Jem, "Speak with your sister. She's far too unhappy for my tastes."
And with that, she moved to stand by Astra, her tail wrapping around the others.
The entire time, Tyrande had watched the exchange with a mixture of emotions. She wanted to run over to them, but she really didn't want to be near the Maman at the moment. So, instead, she practiced.
There were others around that didn't make themselves known. Guards, she scoffed. For a party? Get real. Some people just don't know when to loosen up.. She rolled her eyes, spotting Dryad in the process. Tyrande smiled kindly, padding over to the nanny. "Glad you could make it! I was starting to wonder if I would have to eat alone."

Kunoichi's eyes never turned to look at Sini, they were too busy searching for anything out of place, "So far, everything is going smoothly. Nothing out of the ordinary yet. Did you notice anything while you were out?" She didn't mention anything about her being late, better to be late from duty than late to it. At least she was doing her job and keeping the pack safe. That was what mattered. Slowly, her attention drifted to the princess who had remained distant from the rest of the royal family. She couldn't help but wonder why she chose not to greet her family and if it somehow had something to do with the festivities taking place tonight.
"Of course I made it! I wouldn't miss a celebration for anything." Dryad giggled, a bit excited that not only was she speaking with one of the princesses, but the princess had actually approached her and started the conversation. She could already tell this was going to be a wonderful night, "Who would pass up such a great opportunity to relax a bit and talk with others? Of course, I really haven't had much work anyways..." She gave the slightest of sighs and dropped her gaze to the ground. It was obvious the lack of children in the pack left her feeling just a bit down. But she was one to quickly recover from little upsets like that and quickly perked right back up, "Oh well, I'm sure there'll be plenty of little ones for me to look after soon enough."

Muerta's eyes scanned the crowd. There were a few of her packmates here already, but the one she was searching for was nowhere to be found. Phoebe... Muerta forced down her thoughts and joined in the throng. She spotted the two other princesses as well as the Maman and there were a great few other dragons that she recognized but did not know. The huntress felt rather uncomfortable here and shuffled around cautiously, steering clear of rough patches of dirt or untidy areas. The last thing she wanted was her eggs to be harmed.
With apprehension, Muerta looked through the group once more and saw a flash of rainbow. She sat up straight and her ears perked a little until she realized that she was looking at Tyrande, who was Phoebe's sister and shared some resemblance. Muerta sighed, stood up, and walked over to her, bowing her head slightly. "Hello, princess. You seem well. And..." Muerta looked around once more. "By any chance, is your sister Phoebe around?"

Annie slunk towards Sentinel Hill, hoping against hope that Kuno wouldn't be there. It wasn't that she didn't like her or anything, it was just... well, she'd kind of made a mess of a first impression, hadn't she? Be strong, Annie. Even if she's there, she won't notice you. And young Tyrande has been announced as heir, isn't that fantastic? Although I hope Phoebe and Jemare handling it well.Phoebe was not handling it well. It was kind of nice she wouldn't have to be in the center, the focus of everybody's expectations, sure, but couldn't this have happened some other time? Everything was topsy-turvy, crooked and wrong. She'd fallen in love, which was great, fantastic, but Muerta was pregnant, and it wasn't with a male they shared. And that was what weighed on Phoebe. She'd failed. She was a princess and she was a failure, too great a failure to be a heir. And Tyrande, Tyrande... she didn't like dark pelted dragons, did she? What would become of Muerta now? Brave face, she reminded herself as she entered the bowl. It was time to be happy for her sister, not weighed down by personal problems. And the flowers were awfully pretty.

"Nothing out of the ordinary," Sini replied in her soft voice. She continued to watch the crowd and noticed an unfamiliar face with at least one child at her feet, sitting together off to one side of the celebrations. Curious, she padded over to the speckled dark female with her bright daughter. "I don't believe I've seen you in Westfall before. I'm Sini, a guard," she said politely. Senka smiled, relieved to have met more of her packmates. "I'm Senka. I just arrived with my daughter and two sons." She looked a little sad. "Their father disappeared on us without a word, but at least we're together," she said, trying to smile. Azar glanced up at the large, pale task force member, eyes round with awe. "You're so big, Miss Sini!" she said with surprise.Sini, for perhaps the first time in her life, was surprised enough to laugh at Azar's comment. "Yes I am, little one. I am what is called a Northerner." She looked back up at Senka. "Welcome to Westfall, Senka, and I also welcome your little ones."

Unfortunately for Annie she was in a pack full of black and white and brown dragons and her loud, red coat stood out among everyone present. Even before Sini had answered her question, Kunoichi's eyes locked onto the speckled female without Kunoichi realizing it. When Sini's response came, her gaze was broken and she turned her head with a nod of acknowledgment. She was glad when the fellow guard wandered off to greet a new member, which irked the typically stoic dragon. Normally she wouldn't think anything of it, but now that Sini had left she could go speak with Annie without seeming rude or disinterested in the other female. With a silent huff, the dark dragon resigned herself to the fact that she wouldn't understand this change in her feelings any time soon and quietly approached Annie, "Evening."

Tyrande relaxed with a smile. She'd forgotten just how bright Dryad could be, despite her darker pelt. The princess looked out over the crowd vaguely, like she was seeing without really looking. "I wouldn't worry too much. You'll be swamped before you know it!" This time, her laugh was genuine and it carried up to her eyes. A feeling in the back of her head told her that the pack was on the rise, whether she wanted it to be or not.
Her ears pricked up curiously and she turned to....Oh God, what was her name? She'd probably been told the name a thousand times, but all she remembered was how bad the dragoness had scared her as a hatchling. That same fear made her ears flip back cautiously. "As do you. I wasn't aware that prey was that bountiful." She motioned to Muerta's stomach and it hit her. Something was going on here, something she'd get to the bottom of. "Well, no, I ha- There! She's right over there, she just arrived."
"Phoebe!" Tyrande called, motioning with her head. After all, the best way to hunt was with a trap. And she had a damn good one.

Arthus hung back stoically as his station called for, watching with a slight smile as the pack interacted with one another. He shuffled his paws in the fading snow on the ground. Had there been other males present, he would have called them together 'inside' for a feast of their own, but.....
A depressed sigh followed his eye roll upward. As happy as he was for his family, for the pack, he couldn't help, but mourn the loss of his brethren. Testosterone was good, right? They made the eggs! He could have lain with every female here to boost numbers, but where would that get him? Death.
Ya, uh-huh, he liked his neck, thank you. Maybe a journey was in order. Maybe...

Damn damn damn, triple damn. Not only was Kuno there, but she had spotted her right off. Annie dipped her head for a moment, but she wasn't about to let herself get intimidated. Not by anybody. Embarrassed yes, intimidated no. "Evening," she replied. She walked over and sat some distance from the other female, unsure what to say.
Phoebe looked up at the sound of her sister's voice, happy to see her despite everything else, but froze in horror when she saw Muerta sitting to her. A very pregnant Muerta. Ooooh, this was going to be awkward.
"I'll be right there," she called, and made her way up to where Tyrande was sitting. She really might as well get it over with.

Kunoichi couldn't help but notice just the slightest bit of tension in Annie's body as she approached and so decided to keep the distance between them. She couldn't help but wonder why though. Was Annie intimidated by her? Or perhaps she didn't want to talk to her? This thought made Kunoichi sad, though she refused to let it show on her exterior. What could she had done to get such a response? Now that she wasn't howling to the forest was she showing her true nature and rejecting her because of her coat color?
Once again frustrated with herself, Kunoichi gave a mental head shake and cleared those thoughts from her mind. She wasn't going to jump to any conclusions or over analyze anything. This would just be a simple conversation between two pack mates, "Have you had any luck with finding your family?"
Dryad laughed as well, giddy at the thought of being swamped in young dragons, "Let's hope so. I'd love to see the pack grow." She couldn't keep the grin off her face she was so completely lost in the festive spirit. And it didn't help when Muerta and her pregnant belly approached. Her eyes lit up and she gave the huntress such a smile as to border the line of creepiness.
"Congratulations on the little ones." She didn't know her name. In fact, she was quite certain she had never met this female before but that was going to change quite quickly. Or so she thought, until Tyrande called over Phoebe and dashed all hopes of her having a long conversation with the mother-to-be. Ah well, later. She would probably end up watching the young ones eventually anyways and it would be best to know this female a bit before hand.

Muerta caught the sight of Tyrande's ears flipping back and she grew cautious. Maybe talking to her wasn't a good idea after all. She smiled politely at the princess and gave a curt nod. "Yes, well... Spring does tend to bring more prey out from sleeping..." While she was talking, Muerta's paw motioned protectively over the lump in her belly. The huntress did not trust Tyrande one bit. If only she were here...
Muerta looked up in surprise to see that Phoebe had arrived. She tried to suppress her feelings of pure joy and relief when she saw the princess and smiled to her politely. She could tell that Phoee had already noticed her talking to Tyrande with her swollen tummy. This party was already turning ugly.
"Good evening, Phoebe. You are looking.. nice this evening." Despite her attempts to hide her affection for the princess, Muerta found her voice being caught slightly as she said the word "nice." It was true: Phoebe did look ravishing on this moonlight night and it took every once of self-control Muerta had in her to keep from swooning. Her concentration was broken when, from the corner of her hearing, the huntress heard a call of congratulation from one of the pack-mates. The color drained from Muerta's face. Oh s**t. The dragon stood tall, if not a little unstably, and she prayed to God that no one else, especially Tyrande, heard what she had just heard.

Senka had been watching the goings-on of the rest of the pack, and noticed another dark female who was definitely pregnant and uncomfortable when a larger female commented on little ones on the way. "Sini, could you excuse me for a moment?" she asked politely, scooping up Azar and moving swiftly to be beside the dark mother-to-be in such a way that others could construe the comment as directed at Azar's mother instead.
Sini hardly had time to respond, and though she felt a slight pang of jealousy, she could tell rather easily why Senka moved in so fast. Drat. Muerta was pregnant, and Muerta would have the same tough luck as Senka. Sini couldn't blame Senka for her kindness, but she did rather want to keep Sini to herself.
Azar was startled at being moved so quickly elsewhere, but relaxed as she saw another new face. "Hi, there! I'm Azar," Azar said cheerfully to the spooky-looking female.
