The afternoon was brisk and cool, bits of snow melting on pine branches. Aubrey trotted slowly down a well worn path. He used to walk it every other day, and on some weeks every single day. Lately though, he had been lagging in getting to town. A bag hung over his back filled with muffins and bread that he had to sell. He was low on baking ingredients, and needed the money. Morning seemed to come too soon every day, sleep coming too late at night. He'd come a long way since this all started, but he still felt crappy more often then not. He walked down the path, kicking at rock s along the way. Frowning at one that resembled a heart, he gave the rock a swift kick into the woods. "Stupid rock." He grumbled, moving quickly from where he had found the damn rock.

"Come on, guys! We gotta go!" the youngest member of the little trio exclaimed. He was at the head of the three Cervi's, bounding along and coming back to try and encourage the older members to pick up their pace. A two satchels were strapped on his backside, empty but meant to be filled. The young bucks energy was unlimited it seemed as he cantered a few paces, returned back to the other two, circled them, and ran ahead.

"Calm down, lovuh boy! The gal's will still be theh!" the older male called out, laughing. He wore only some thick working gloves with the fingers poking free. They were for when he did heavy lifting, hunting, or any sort of physical activity. Besides lutful ones; unless they just happened to be on. An axe was strapped along his flank for lumber harvesting, but that was about it, aside from the coin pouch around his hips. Chuckling, and putting his hands behind his back, he watched the young Cervi.

"Lover boy?" the third member looked to Vladamir with an amused grin. "Has he started chasing tails, now?" the handsome fello simply wore a light tunic that was exposed in the front, for the clasps were not connected. It was much too nice outside, with the Spring starting to make it's way back. The light cream tunic complimented him well, and very much matched his pelt.
Laughing again, the Aussie accented male gave a playful nudge and wink to Clouse, "well tha sheila's seem to be flockin` to `um." giving another hearty chuckle, he looked to the rambunctious Rex.
Shaking his head and smirking at the comment, he looked back to the well worn path ahead of them. "I hardly think that Clayton counts."

Aubrey kicked at more stones before he heard more then their clatter. His ears flicked slightly at the voices coming up behind him. At least one male by the sounds of it, but not the heavy clop-clop of horse hooves. Maybe cervitaur or satyr? No matter though. He meandered to the edge of the path to allow the males to pass by him. Surely they were moving faster and wouldn't bother with him.

Galloping ahead the other two, oblivious to their conversation, his ears flipped foreward as he saw another on the path as his. Slowing, he kept a respectful space to the Centaur, and trotted along the center of the path.
Giving another hearty laugh, he shook his head in amusement, "You should see all tha gurls that flock to him loike bee's to a flowah." he looks ahead of their path to see the Centaur. Grinning as they approach the other male, he gives a nod, "G'day, mate."
Simply smiling kindly, traveling next to Vladamir, he gives a look to Aubrey and nods politely.

Aubrey kept his head forward and tilted slightly down, feeling his neck warm as Vlad's voice carried to his ears. Yeah, lots of girls, but like bees, they quickly fluttered away at a moments notice. "If you say so." He replied to Vlad's greeting without looking up, feeling bad for being so sour to the stranger but unable to perk up just yet. It seemed to take a while to get even a false good mood warmed up. His brown eyes moved slightly to look at the passing sets of legs through his hanging bangs. Three of them. Cervis. He felt a little better that his guess had been right.

The youngest of the trio looked behind him hesitently, unsure of the Centaur's status. Was he perhaps injured? He couldn't really tell from his perspective, but the body language of the larger male seemed a bit... sullen. Slowing to a stop, he flipped his ear towards the others, and watched for their reaction.
"Hm?" he stopped all together. Staring at Aubrey, Vladamir swiveled an ear, "What's the matter, mate? You alroight?" his aed cocked slightly at the inquisitive manner of this stranger. He seemed, 'not with it'.
Following Vladamir's action, Clouse turned to the fello as well. His ears flicked once, but a calm expression remained on his face. He didn't want to pester if there was some sort of personal issue plaguing this male, but he was curious as to if it were something that could be solved by a friendly gesture.

Surprised the other males had bothered to pause, Aubrey mustered the will to at least raise his head the rest of the way to look at the others' faces, though his bangs remained in the way. "If you consider every woman you care about leaving you unexpectedly, then my life is just grand. If pieces of hearts were gold, I'd be rich. If-" He snorted. "Eh, enough of the comparisons. You get the idea, I'm sure." His head fell down to watch the ground again, his legs still carrying him lazily to the market.

All three of the males seemed to react in the same manner, but Vladamir was the first to speak. His ears flipping up, he gave a sympathetic look as the radars slowly started to lay back halfway. "Heart-break, huh...?" he himself had never had it before, but he'd only heard bad things about it. And from what he'd gathered, he wished it upon no one. Taking a few steps to join by the Centaur's side, he peered at his profile. "Oi'm sorreh to hear that, mate.."
Following next to Vladamir, Clouse nodded as he spoke, understanding quite fully the effect's this sort of thing had on a male. On any `taur, in fact. For he'd witnessed it within his own family, to one of his sisters. "That is most unfortunate, sir.." he spoke softly, letting his gaze look to the Centaur as well.
Rex's ears swiveled back, and his face twisted to a look of dispair for this fello. Waiting for them to catch up to him, he looked off sadly. He'd never had this happen to him either. In fact... the purusit of having one to call his own hadn't really taken lead yet. Would it ever? Flipping an ear, he did away with his personal thoughts, and shyly glanced back at the other approaching `taur.

Aubrey sighed mentally, not looking up again. He didn't want to see what he percieved he could already hear in the strangers' voices. Pity. What else could they be feeling? He didn't think anyone else could feel sympathy or empathy for someone as pathetic as him. "Yeah, well, not much you can do about it." He grumbled. Realizing that one of the cervitaur was actually walking at his side and not passing by, he looked up at Vlad, back down, and back up again. Looking still through his bangs at their faces, he felt a mix of wanting to shrink into himself and wanting to actually talk to the males. But what to say? Now he would be scaring off males too. If he dared to say more, he'd be more alone than he already was.

Grinning, the outgoing male put a hardy arm around the Centaur, "That's roight! And we keep on goin`!" he pats the shoulder opposite to him with the arm slung around Aubrey. "Don't worry, mate. You'll get back in th`r." he nods.
Smiling at his friends rather forward approach, the gold Cervi gave a little nod in agreement. "Things may seem down now, but they'll look back up for you. I'm sure." he tried to encourage.
Very much enexperianced with this sort of thing, he simply looked down at the ground and kicked at some loose rocks around his hooves. He felt rather useless, unsure of what to say to someone who had been through heart break. It didn't seem to sound fun, though. His ear flicked as he heard some sort of song bird perched on a tree above give a few measures of a song.

Aubrey tensed automatically when the accented cervi threw his arm over his shoulder. He tried to subtly get out of the overly cheerful male's grasp. "Feh. Try saying that when you-" At that he clamped his mouth shut. They would probably laugh if he told them it was not once, but twice that he'd been turned from by females. How shameful. It would probably be as bad a stigma as his birth date if it got out. He flicked his ears at the sound of Rex kicking the rocks and looked up. "What's got you in a mood?" He asked, the better side of him breaking through, though in a grumblier voice than it needed to be.

Flicking his ears up, and looking to the sulking male, Rex blinked with a puzzled look on his face, "Nothing, sir. I just lack any advice or positive words to give you, as I've never been in your position." the little tuft of a tail behind him, which was laying down, gave a little quiver idly.
Vladamir puckered his lips out a little, and placed his hands on his hips. "Well the`h's no point `n sulkin` about it, now is the`h?" he eyed the Centaur. "C'mon, mate. The`h's o'lways gonna be a few sheila's who'll break ya hah`rt. Just means the`h're not the roight one for ya." he gives an affirmative nod, feeling that he summed up relationships pretty durn well. A smug grin slid on his face as he thought about the females in his life. Most of them were just like him; only really messing around without looking to settle down. Though... he himself wouldn't mind doing so...
Giving a small glance to Rex, he knew the younger `taur was growing anxious and desired to continue on. Looking back at the new male, he gave a warm smile, "Why don't you join us? We were just on our way into town." He grinned a grin that was close to Vladamir's, "Maybe some spirits will... liven your's." he nodded, knowing he could go for some himself.

Aubrey grunted a reply to Rex, looking back down. 'Lucky little-' And his thoughts were quickly intrerrupted. "I'll sulk as much as I need to." He grumbled, not entirely sure what his own words meant. He was saved from trying to figure that out by Clouse's interjection. He missed all the silly grins, keeping his face forward and down. "If you're serious. Make sure you're not gonna suddenly turn around and run off too." He said, acting like a positive ninny. "I'm headed there anyway."

Vladamir can't help but laugh in amusement. This guy was a regular grouch! Giving him a pat on the back, he raised a brow at him, leaning his head down to try and get a better look at him, "Do O'i look loikie a woman, to you?" pats his flat chest, showing how he hasn't any breasts. "W'oy would we run out on you when we're goin` the'h ourselves? What koinda g'oys do ya think we a'hre?" he chuckled before stretching out his arms behind himself, and twisting his torso a little. "A lil` gin will do ya good. On me."
Nodding in agreement with the rambunchious male, he looked back ahead of them, seeing that the town was now in sight. The sounds and sights were heating more as they got closer. Perhaps he'd find some nice females to buy drinks for as well. As he hadn't been in a woman's presance in quite awhile.
Secretly growing bored with this whole situation, he looked eagerly towards the market. His stomach gripped him, and made a low whine. Blushing, he put a hand to it, and gave a look of pleading, ears drooping, to feast on some sort of delicious meat. Perhaps there would be chicken legs, his favorite, and fresh bread. A wide smile slid on his face as he daydreamed about the savory food that was always in town.

Aubrey's head pulled back, looking in surprise at Vlad's straightforwardness. Then, a tiny smile of amusement showed at the edges of his mouth. "You think it's just breasts that make females so flighty?" He asked sarcastically. "And obviously, I don't know what kind of guys you are." His ears perked up, looking between all the males. "Gin?" They all seemed intent on getting to town, but were they all going to be drinking? It wasn't even late yet. "Eh, I suppose I could use one." He'd stopped drinking after the break-up from his first 'love.' Maybe it was time to start up again. He heard the blue male's stomach growl softly and though he hadn't felt very hungry lately, he unconsciously picked up his pace.
