Declan was just minding his own business when he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye. When he looked there was nothing there. But he wandered over to bet a better look anyway.

Seeing the Kirin wander over, Kota smirked to himself. He waited until Declan got closer before jumping out of the bushes.

Declan knew he was being silly but he just wanted to be sure there was truly nothing there before he went on. Something about having a monster follow him was a bit unsettling.
