A frail tiny figured; a shadow in spider silk. His mother reduced to nothing more then shell on the stone altar piled in fragrant foliage. Illy breath slowly, lifting his glaze to the mass of the company. His father stood still at the front well surrounded by immediate family, face blank but fist tight in rage. Danni and Rin faces both blank and well controlled. Elea blind with age and crippled, leaning heavily on his father’s arm. His cousins in various stages of grief with Rile standing like a guard behind them, strong to protect.
The corps, from the few younglings clinging close to their parents to the wounded that could be moved to watch. A mass of red eyes with a scattering of blues and ambers tints …all those eyes focused on him. Waiting for him to speak, to start the chants that would bring their General to her great reward beyond life and then when her ashes cooled.
The war would start in one fell swoop to destroy the house that caused her death. From death to death. Illy sigh, raising his hands to call for silence, the bells and crystals chiming from his movement.
Let us began.

Her clear voice jointed the chanting as he youngest sibling fingers worked the bachi down the strings of his Shamisen. More music started up the heavy beat of drums the most common following up by the trill of flutes and the chanting as her cousin directed. Head thrown back and voice clear and still, in control, proud, and striking.
Illy was best at these horrible times, dressed in pale color cottons and bedecked in bells, crystals, and bone disks that all whispered in pleasant tone. His bright blue eyes focused, hands reaching out to accept everyone and everything in his protective embrace.
Rile shifted behind her and she moved in turn closing in ranks to shelter Jysayne. Her eyes flickered back meeting her elder siblings blue before flicking to Danni and Rin with a small hum. A warning if she ever saw one.
What was going on? She swallowed the words, turning instead as her uncle stepped up to speak about his mate. She would keep on edge and just watch for now.

Males should not be heading such ceremonies. Truly these ceremonies should not be occurring at all. What had her mother and aunt allowed in her absence? Such things had not been done when she had been a part of the corp before she headed towards school. It was an affront to Lolth.
She had prayed to the goddess! Ooh how she had prayed whispers for her family to regain their place. For the Kenwlyn name to once again stand among the noble houses. To be proud, strong, and high up the rungs instead of a merc troop constantly shifting bases from minor ruin to ruin and a spread of tents.
Soon, soon they would have to see this folly of how they been living. Her father would not last long. He was weak, to close to his mate and would follow her soon into death but not before destroying Nils betrayers in one sweep. He was emotionally weak but his rage would not allow him to die for anything less.
With her father gone her aunt would be easy to get rid of. Crippled, blind, Elea should have died years ago when she refused the goddesses her sacrifice. Her brother with his unnatural magic and audacity to take a females position would follow. Her cousin who should have died when named all would die in the goddess’s name.
She would cleanse the house, the troops and take what was rightfully hers. And they would follow because they must see it!

Jysayne was fragile always been frail striking a protective cord in Rile. He kept to quite, curling inwards making it s differcult to protect. The twins leaned heavily suporting each other. They protected themselves, killed when other threaten their only youngest sibbling or each other. His brothers were well off. Accept Shyn'ar...he worried about his elder brother being so frail. Shyn was a mighty b***h though. Worse then any of his little sisters.
Danni and Rin...his cousin made him twitch. They had been away from the troup for so long. He bit his lips watching them, the hair of his neck on end. He didn't trust them.
