Ylva sighed. Some how Kumo had talked her into an outing, just the two of them. Asa and Chane got left with the other puppies. Meh, she needed to get out more she supposed but alone.
Sure kumo wasn't a bubbly idiot but he was still young and that meant he could easily get hurt. At least in Ylva's eyes he could. She saw those around her that she took care of as delicate like an egg shell. The female would never let any thing happen to the ones she loved, ever. However, the constant duty of playing guardian angel, if you could call Ylva that, was tiring.
The hyenas pace was slow so that her puppy didn't have to walk so fast. Grawwww, curse her soft spot.
Kumo walked beside her at an easy relaxed pace. He had done the impossible, gotten alone time with mom. It seemed now a days she was looking after this animal and that animal taking in this stranger ect. For some one so grumpy she sure did like to take care of others.
Kumo found it strange. But he didn't mind, one of those Ylva took in happened to be a healer. Chane, a lion, was teaching the boy all about herbs and how to use them.
But thats beside the point. It may not have shown on the puppies face, but on the inside he was smiling. He was with mom and thats all that mattered.

Olayinka on the same token was out and about. Seven was seven too many and they were driving her nuts. Dumping them on their father long enough to get away for an hour or two didn't seem so mean. She'd given birth to the brats!
She was blissfully unaware of her only daughter trailing her pawprints. Had she been she would have sent her right back around. Nor was she aware that following her daughter was one of her brothers who had gotten curious to see the two leave.
The leopardess paused in her walking and glanced up to see a something strangely familiar. The coloration made her head tilt and she smirked. Well, well, well. The one hyena she'd come to trust. She picked up her pace and called a greeting.
Meanwhile behind her, Ulan was catching up to his sister. "Naiya! Where are you going?" He called in a half whisper.

Naiya trailed after her mother, keeping very low to the ground. Her mother was her favorite person in the world after all. She was like a bigger version of her self, how could she not respect and adore her? Also her mom was funny when she was grumpy.
The fact that Ulan was trailing behind her hadn't occurred to her yet. Not until he greeted her.
"HUH?" She blinked and turned around to find Ulan. She was surprised and it showed on her face.
"Shhhhhh!" She hushed him, " I'm following mom." She gestured over toward their mother...and a strange thing ? Say what was that thing?
Ylva paused hearing foot steps and quickly herded her boy under her. At first she growled, her tuff sticking straight up, only to lax again. Oh well well, it had been a long time.
"Olayinka," Her tone was her usual monotone, but she was glad to see her. And thin? "You've had your cubs? " This time an edge of excitement pierced her words. Had she? Had it been that long. Oh my!? Come to think of it Kumo was getting bigger.
Kumo stayed under his mother keeping low to the ground. He could only see the grass around him but he could smell that some one was close by. But who or what?

Ulan blinked wrinkling his muzzle. He glanced over to look at the larger leopard then back to his sister. "Are you crazy?" He asked creeping closer to her. "If we get caught she's going to be angry." He whispered watching her.
"Yes..." She answered her tone unsure sounding. She still hadn't figured out if she was excited or angry about them. "Seven of them." She stopped just a few feet away, her tail swaying. "I've... found a male who is willing to help me raise them for the time being. And you?"

Naiya snorted, "Shes not gonna find US~" The us had been just a little to loud. By the time Naiya covered her maw it was to late.
Ylva smiled, "Aint that a b***h," She shook her head. Four had been more then enough for one life time. Seven, that was unreal. Though.... she did kinda count Chane and Asa as children. Sorta. They needed looking after.
A small sound made the hyenas ear twitch, "Something else is here." She pawed Kumo under her more.
Kumo let out a small yip in protest. He wanted to see what was going on.

Ulan lowered his ears and pushed himself into the grass. "Naiy!" He hissed in half a whimper.
She rolled her eyes. It was indeed. Pausing she turned her head back to search the ground. "Something's here alright and its in big trouble." She growled turning around. It didn't take her long to find pale fur in the grass and she stood over the two of them behind Naiya. "Well, well. Who do we have here? I don't remember inviting you two to go with me. In fact I'm pretty sure you were to stay with your father." She leaned down and picked up Naiya by the scruff of her neck and brought her in front of Ylva before sitting her down.
Swallowing hard, Ulan followed with his tail between his legs to sit by his sister.
"These are two of my seven. Naiya and Ulan." She said gruffly. "They're good at getting in to trouble."

Ylva blinked and smiled. She approved of the leopards parenting skills she had to admit. No wonder the two got along so well.
"They both look a great deal like you. " She attempted a friendly smile at the cubs but failed. It just wasnt something she was good at, smiling. But hey to Ylva's credit, she tried.
Naiya gulped looking from her brother to her mom to the strange creature before them. She was scared.
Ylva shook her head, "Smart girl fearing a hyena. Id never turn my back on my kind either. Infact, don't ever trust any strangers ever," She huffed and nuzzled her son out into full view, "This is one of my four. "
Kumo was glad to finally be able to see what was going on. He was surprised to see his mother had been talking to leopard.. family? He'd seen leopards before and lived with a lion so big cats didn't really scare him. The pup said nothing though, shyness had crept up his spine.

Ulan slipped behind his older sister and closer to his mother's foot. "Mom? What's a hiiyeeena?" He asked looking up at her still nervous of how much trouble they were in.
Olayinka nodded politely to Ylva then glanced down. "They are." She said motioning to them. "We're leopards and they're hyenas." She answered her voice slightly gentler for him.
The young male was instantly caught by someone closer to their age. Curiously he escaped from behind his mother and went closer to the younger hyena. He sniffed at the other giving his mother a small glance before approaching. "What's your name?" He whispered keeping himself low as it was putting him closer to the older Hyena.

Ylva nodded and nuzzled her pup closer to the two cubs. She took a step aside to stand by Olayinka. The young ones needed to get to know each other.
Kumo opened his maw and then shut it, he wasn't sure what to say. "I-I'm Kumo. " Slowly his confidence started to build up. "I'm Kumo and Im gonna be a healer," He announced. Ylva rolled her eyes but she was smiling. Kumo didn't seem to notice as his chest puffed out proudly.
"Whats your names?" He tilted his head. It was the hyenas turn to be the curious one.
Naiya kept very close to her brother. More so then she normally did with any of her siblings.
"Nai-naiya." She stuttered. She didn't like this creature before her. It was weird looking, but mom seemed to think them as friends? It confused her.

The younger leopard looked back at his sister and wondered if he should be more afraid to. The older one looked very frightening but his mother didn't seemed worried at all.
He flattened his ears. "I'm Ulan..." He mentioned after his sister stuttered through hers. Not sure about the other male he took another bold step forward. "Do you... play?" He questioned tilting his head slightly.
Olayinka shook her head then motioned with her head that she wanted to move away from the kids. She started away watching them carefully all the same. "I was thinking..." She said out of earshot, "of leaving them with their father."

Ylva gave the leopardess a faint smile, "Why would you want to do that?" She let the smile sit on her maw. The female had no opinion of the leopardesses mate having never met him but she felt that Olayinka was more then suitable for a mother. It surprised her a bit to hear such words come from her maw.
Naiya's mouth opened in a big O when her brother took a step forward. He wanted to play with this thing? The leopardess stiffened a little and took a step forward as well keeping sure to stay behind her brother. She was silent.
Kumo wagged his tail and barked. (Which scared Naiya)
"Course I play." He hopped from one side to the other in a playful fashion.

"I don't... feel anything toward them. They just... are there. I don't want to protect them. I feed them but its from knowing they'll die not because I want them to live. Do you understand? I'm not sure what to do other then leave them with someone who's utterly devoted to them." The female leopard whispered gazing back at her cubs.
The bark started Ulan too but he grinned after ward. What a strange sound! He tried to mimic it but only a weird growl came out that made him stutter with a laugh. "Oh m-man that was bad! What do you want to play?" He looked at the Hyena's tail and tried to wag his too but it merely wanted to flick back and forth. Not wag.
