Reverie Rose: Running through the sand, at the edge of the water, Akilah giggled and growled as she chased a hare! "Come back here you fiend!" she shouted at it as she bounded through the sland, flinging the bits of rock and dirt about. Each time she got close to the hare, it sneasked out of her way. Messing with the cub to have a bit of a game with her. Akilah was determined to catch it though! She wasn't going to kill it, she was well fed. But she wanted to catch it to prove she could! She was a good hunter!

The hare escaped into a mount of rocks as Akilah ran up to it, growling as she tried to reach her paw in to get at it. Drat! It escaped! "I let you get away this time hare! But you wont be so lucky next time!" she shouted at it as she held up her head high, and strutted off. She would never admit defeat!

Kieko:
Playing at the base of the mountain of rocks was a pale colored, spotted cub. He was minding his own bussiness when suddenly sand came falling down from up above and a frustrated Akilah began yelling out towards the hare. With wide eyes and a shocked expression, Maji called out from where he was, "Hey! You just interupted my voodoo ceremony! Now i'm going to have to start the sacrifice all over again!" Once Akilah was close enough to get a better look she might notice that the cub had a long stick laying nearby and a mound of seaweed, shaped awkwardly into some figure, sitting on top of the rock in front of him. Going back to what he was doing, the cub picked the stick up in his muzzle and danced around the rock making chanting noises as best he could. As the waves pulled up close to where he was playing, it added a dramatic effect to his game. Many of the cubs in the Simba'futaji were warned to stay away from the waves when they were young. They could be incredibly dangerous!

Reverie Rose: How dare someone tell her what to do! Akilah folded back her ears and got into a pouncing stance...oh that little monster would pay for that! She leaped at him, aiming to pin him to the ground as she growled at him. "Don't tell me what to do! And voodoo is stupid!" she told him with a huff as she got off of him. "You shouldn't sacrifice things! Its one thing to kill something for food but for some stupid ritual is dumb!" she told him, her chest puffed out. Akilah loved to try and dominate anyone she met. And this cub was no different. Just becuase he was older didn't mean she shouldn't show him she was boss here! Akilah walked over to the mound..poking at it with her paw as she made a face at it. "How gross! You TOUCHED this thing!?" she asked, giving him a questioning look. Boys were so gross sometimes! Why would you want to handle such slimy icky stuff!

Kieko: Maji, dancing and chanting around his rock was too consumed in his game to notice the female cub lunging at him. When she landed on top of him, the pair went tumbling into the sand, sending his stick flying from his jaw. Maji was surprised at first, but as soon as the female cub began shouting about how stupid his game was, the cub pushed her off and rose to his feet. Looking around for his stick he was upset to find that it had broken. It took him all day to find a 'ceremonial spear' that big! With as big a growl as he could muster, Maji shouted back, "That's not true! You just think it's stupid because YOU'RE stupid!"

The spotted cub looked confused. Who did this girl think she was? He was just minding his own bussiness when she came diving out of nowhere! He didn't even recognise her. Maybe she was a rogue coming to kill him! Making a distance between the two of them, Maji continued to growl. "Ancient lion prides perform sacrifices to make the Gods happy with them! Then the Gods use their powers to make the big water happy so it won't drown everyone!" Maji had big words for such a small cub, but it was clear he pieced together pieces of stories he heard from the nannys and his imagination went with it. When she poked at his mound of seaweed, he jumped forward, swatting a paw at her, "You broke my spear, don't touch my sacrifice! Do you always mess up everything you touch?" He stuck his tongue out in frustration.

Reverie Rose: How dare he push her! That was no proper way to treat a lady! “Pfft. Only a stupid baby would believe that! Only barbaric prides perform sacrifices! Peace loving prides would never do such a thing! Only an awful god would want sacrifices! The big water doesn’t need you to harm something to be appeased! The adults offer it non living sacrifices! If you don’t even know THAT then you must be an intruder!” said Akilah as she reeled back and growled her ears folding back. “For the good of the pride I will defeat the intruder!” she shouted as she once again ran at him, lunging to tackle him. Yes, she was smaller them him. But she had speed and spirit. And her pride would never let a boy beat her!

Being that Akilah was still young, she hadn’t met much of the pride beyond her nanny and family. Though her large family was enough to keep her occupied as it was. So she did not realize he was a pride member, probably just as he hadn’t realized she was one as well. Akilah’s nanny had told her about sacrifices before, but also told her that live sacrifices were barbaric and cruel, and any decent god would never wish for you to kill something to appease them. “Spear? It was just a stick! You can get a new one!” she shouted at him as she swatted at him. “Are you always so stupid?” she retorted back to his comment about her messing up things she touched.

Kieko: This time Maji was prepared for Akilah's attack and he jumped out of the way, landing in the sand nearby with a thud. Getting back onto his feet, the cub took a moment to shake the sand from his fur and then growled, "This isn't the only pride around y'know! There are lots of prides all around here and when i'm bigger i'm going to see them all! There are lots of Gods too and-And some of them DO require sacrifices! Ha ha ha!" Maji leaned his head back and let out an evil-little cackle. The cub ran around to the side of the rock where half of his broken stick fell and picked it back up in his mouth. Mumbling awkwardly, he managed to say, "You are the intwuder!" And with that he ran towards Akilah, stick in his mouth, though not pointing in her direction. As he ran, his tail waved about behind him, revealing his true excitement at continuing his game with someone new.

Reverie Rose: Darn she missed! Well she would not miss a second time! “So!? They are barbaric! Maybe YOU should be sacrificed!” she shouted at him growling some more. “Then you don’t belong here! If that’s what you believe! I will chase you out myself!” she shouted, as if she really could as she charged at him, leaping as she rammed her head at him, hoping she hid him as she skidded to a halt, flakes of sand flying about. Akilah’s tail wagged to, a mixture of excitement and somewhat aggression. She was stubborn, and thick headed. And there was no way she was going to admit to this cub’s way of thinking! It was just too wrong! “Heh why don’t you go join that evil pride of red lions! My nanny says they are real nasty! I be they will sacrifice for you!” she said as she stuck her tongue out at him with a ‘nyeeeh’ type of sound.

Maji was excited at first about the little game the two of them had begun. He had become so used to playing by himself that it was a real treat to have another member of the Simbafutaji to keep him company. As he continued to run towards Akilah, his tail waved faster behind him. Her first shouts only encouraged him to keep up the game and his small paws sped up. Sand flew up around him as he ran, but when he caught site of her angry glare and the manner in which she came running back at him, Maji skid to a halt. She kept yelling back at him and there didn't seem to be any playing in the way she spoke. Cocking his head to the side and tossing his stick into the sand, Maji spoke simply, without the dramatic flair he had been adding earlier, "I don't really want to join any evil prides y'know.. I was just playing." He made sure to keep a close eye on her and was prepared to jump off to the side if she kept up her angry threats. "My mom used to be the Kifuko of the pride and she's shared countless stories with me about the lands that surround our beach..." The Kifuko was the highest position anyone of the pride held. The lion who held that place knew the history and stories of all lions in the pride.

Akilah was prepared to take him down as he ran at her…..then watched as he came to a halt. He was just joking? What kind of sick joke was that! “You don’t joke about things like that! Sacrifices is a really BIG deal! It is most certainly NOT something you joke about!” shouted Akilah as she glared at him. “Others actually DIE from sacrifices! And to say you like them, even as a joke is just messed up! No matter what your mother is or was it doesn’t change the fact that you just don’t joke about things like that!” she said, her head and tail held high and her ears perked up, focusing towards him. She was being very serious right now. She didn’t think things like that should ever be treated as a joke.

Akilah paced back and fourth, not completely sure how to handle this. She was just a cub….how did you handle others joking about things that upset you? Made you angry and wanting to hit them? She didn’t like that feeling, not one bit. She hated feeling anger….being bossy as she normally was, was one thing. But she didn’t like feeling mad or angry at others…how was she suppose to handle those feelings?

"Like sacrifices?" Maji squinted his eyes in confusion as he tried to understand what this female was saying. "I never said I liked them or the prides that did them! I was just telling you that some prides use them as a form of thanks to their Gods!" Maji shook his head and still took a couple steps back from this female. She seemed so angry before and he didn't want to test his luck to see how much angrier she'd get. Explaining what he'd been doing or thinking felt like a magician giving away the trick to his magic. "I was just acting out a story my mother had told me before you'd come around. I was acting! Don't you know anything about make believe? I was playing by myself, I never asked for you to come by and interupt everything!"

As she held her head and tail high, Maji growled and turned on his heel, intending to return to his den. His game had been ruined and now instead of a friend it seemed he'd made an enemy in the pride. It was another reminder as to why he'd so often play by himself. Turning back for a moment with his ears down, he mumbled, "I don't know why you're so upset, but I'm sorry for whatever I did."

“Well you still shouldn’t joke about it…It could lead to you actually wanting to do it…even if its just play now…” said Akilah as she frowned and lowered her head a little. Yes, she over reacted but she didn’t think she was wrong. “Hey! Don’t think you can get away that easily!” she said as she ran over to him, skidding to a halt in front of him. “We have unfinished business here! I demand he wrestle it out! If I lose I will admit I over reacted and you were just playing! But if I win you admit that it’s wrong what you did and won’t do it again! Do we have a deal?” said Akilah with a smirk as her tail flickered back and fourth. She wasn’t’ about to admit she was wrong, so she was going to try and make herself right by beating him in a wrestling battle!

Maji looked to Akilah with an annoyed look on his face as she pushed the subject further. "If I convinced you that I was that interested then I must be a good actor. If you know anyyyything about acting then you'll know I should look interested or serious about whatever i'm pretending." He growled out again, "And No! I won't ever be interested in really sacrificing anything! I know better than that." He continued forward towards his den. As she followed after, he tried to quicken his paw steps, keeping his eyes focused in front of him. He'd never had such an uncomfortable experience before. As she proposed that they fight it out, he stopped and looked back at her again. "I don't need to promise you anything. I don't need you to tell me you were wrong because I know that you were. Like I said, I know better than to mess with any of those prides for real. Just because i'm interested in their histories or stories doesn't mean it'll go beyond that." Shifting his gaze again, he continued on, hoping to leave her behind.

Reverie Rose: Akilah frowned at him as he continued to argue with her. “Well I still think you were wrong and took it too far. Histories are one thing, but all you ahd to say from the beginning was that you were playing instead of arguing with me about how great it is to sacrifice! I don’t really care if you were just ‘acting’ as you put it!” she said as she held her stance to try and keep him from getting past her. “Are you always like this?” she asked him. “Always running from others to hide in your den? If you believe you are right then prove it! Show me that you are right by beating me!” said Akilah as she lowered her torso to the ground, her bottom in the air as she jumped back and fourth growling in a playful stance. Tensions had been running high, so this was sort of her way of ‘loosening’ things up a bit. Didn’t hurt to try right?

Kieko: "It messes up the story if you give away the ending before it's over!" He growled again as she appeared in front of him. His fur was beginning to bristle. His mom had always told him to avoid confrontations with others in the pride, but he thought they had been playing before. Now that he actually had a disagreement with someone he wasn't really sure of what to do. As she held her ground before him, he stopped in his tracks. Maji did believe he was right, but he also knew that he wasn't as skilled in fighting as his older brother and sisters. Lowering his ears, he thought hard on how he could get out of this. He wasn't in the mood for playing anymore and just wanted to go home. "I don't think that fighting you will prove anything. Whoever wins will be the cub better are fighting, not the one who was right. Thanks for the offer, but I don't want to play with you."

Reverie Rose: Akilah frowned again as she stood up and lowered her ears, glaring at him. “You jerk! I am trying to be nice here and make up! Fine! Be that way! Go be a wimp and spend your life hiding in your den! Just go hide from the world and live in your stories! Since you obviously can’t handle real life if you wont even try!” said Akilah, hurt by him turning her down like that but, she was one to hide it by yelling. She kicked up some sand at him as she raised her head, ears, and tail with a ‘hmph!’ and trotted off. What an infuriating cub! And Akilah didn’t even get WHY he annoyed her and made her feel these icky feelings so much! She had tried to be nice and play with him to try and get rid of the angry feeling, but when he insisted on turning her down it just raised her angry feeling even more! What a jerk!
