Santos's bulky form lounged tiredly outside the chamber of the den that he and his mate slept in. His eyes drooped slightly and he felt a yawn work his jaws as he sat vigilant at the entrance, determined not to let anyone disturb his mate.
He hadn't slept much through the night. He had wanted to make sure Adia and the cubs got all the rest they needed, and with that in mind he wouldn't have been able to sleep much even if he hadn't been standing watch.
His ears flicked and he turned his head as he heard a sound.
"You need to sleep, Dad. Mom's fine." Arsaya nudged her father's shoulder, trying to push him into his den, but he didn't budge. She flopped down next to him delicately and glared at him. "You're a stubborn old man, Daddy."
She had to admit that she hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, either, but at least she'd tried. She'd just been so excited about having little cubs, little brothers, to care for.

Daveigh padded up slowly to the entrance of her parents den spotting her father and youngest sister outside the den. They both looked rather tired and it made her smile a bit. Everyone seemed so excited about the newest members of the family. It was just so cute to see.
"Goodness Dad did you get any sleep last night? It looks like an elephant trampled over you." She said just as she reached the pair and nuzzled them both in greeting.
Adele wasn't far behind her oldest sister bounding up on the ledge at the entrance of the den. She was so excited about her new little brothers that she looked just as bad as Santos did. She'd gotten zero to no sleep at all wanting so badly to see her little brothers again tha she could taste it. "Hey dad! Is mom and the cubs up yet?" She asked while wiggling excitedly. She was rarely this active unless she was extremely hyped up and boy was she hyped up this time.

Santos smiled at his girls and nuzzled them in turn, chuckling at their concern. "I'm fine, girls. I just wanted to make sure your mother was undisturbed for the night." He let out another jaw cracking yawn and shook his head.
"She should be up soon. I've heard a few whines and such from the cubs, so I expect it will be soon." He smiled at Adele's energy, much as his own would be if he were still that young, and laid his head on his paws. "But with all this commotion, I think you girls will wake her up before the boys get a chance."
Arsaya snorted. "Mom can get sleep just fine while you sleep, Daddy. You don't snore that bad."
She fiddled with the white rose in her hair and then crossed her paws, fit to wait to see her mother, and the newest litter of cubs to join the Rose Petal family. She knew this meant every lion in the family would be in a good mood today, and that Nimbus and Sky would be visiting with a few of her nieces and nephews as well.

Daveigh returned her fathers smile and sat down next to him opposite from Arsaya. "We understand Dad. You should know we're willing to help you too so you can be rested too. It's not good for the king to be as tired as you are. We're all willing to help and take turns. I'm sure Kian and Kama would jump at the chance to help their grandpa." Daveigh said hoping she might be able to get her father to agree so he wouldn't have to lose so much sleep.
Adele nodded at her sisters words in agreement. "Yeah dad. We can all take turns so no one has to lose too much sleep." She nodded vigorously. Today was going to be exciting along with several days to come. Everyone was going to be around to see the new boys that meant bunches of lions to talk to and have fun with. It was going to be great!
Santos was right. Adia was up inside the den. The boys were still sleeping even if a bit lightly as their dreams made them twitch and whine. The voices from outside had indeed woken her but she was not unhappy about it. The excitement in the voices made her smile and she almost didn't want to get up to disturb their conversation. She was rather happy to lay right where she was and listen to her daughters and mate talk together. It always amazed her how willing most of her children were to help when new little siblings arrived. Sometimes she barely had to lift a paw except to feed them. It seemed to her sometimes as though she got more rest after having a new litter than any other time.
