Paws coated with glistening white fur marched across the loose dirt and withering grass. Linje gazed thoughtfully towards his destination as the ground glided beneath him. The sun had just begun to peek over the horizon, and the leopard's day was just beginning... in the same manner as every other day. The bright orange and red clouds spotted the sky where the sun had made it's appearance. The sunrise is impressive, and gorgeous... Linje told himself, "But not as impressive as me."
Finally, Linje had arrived at the watering hole. It was a placid and peaceful place, no one else seemed to be around. Linje leaned over to view his reflection on the glass-like surface of the water. He purred, closing his eyes as his tongue broke away his counterfeit image. Ripples diffused across pond, glittering with firey colors as they reflected the light of the sunrise.

 Mani had woken up at her usual time for her morning run. And..subsequent morning drink at the nearby watering hole. One works up quite a thirst when running. Of which, the dark coloured cheetah knew that running was good for her. ..She also knew that if she didn't drink anything, the feline would end up passing out somewhere. And at that point, who knows who could come across you. Unfortunately enough, Mani had the tendency to zone out. Where in motion or staying still, her mind wandered.
Which perhaps wasn't the brightest of ideas, since she had zoned out while running to a large body of water. Surely there was nothing wrong with that.

Linje didn't even hear the dark cheetah rushing at him. Once their forms connected, Linje was instantly thrown off his paws. He collapsed from the force, half his body inevitably plunging into the cold water. The petite cheetah somehow managed to toss the considerably bulkier leopard into the mud with a loud splash.
A growl burst from Linje's throat as he jumped to regain his posture, flinging water in his wake. He lashed out vigorously, with no intentions of actually harming the female. "What the hell are you doing!?" He let out a snarling bellow. "My fur!!" The leopard gazed sadly at his wet, muddy, soiled coat. "It's disgusting!" With fangs bared, and a wicked glare in his eyes, he returned his attention to the purple female. "How DARE you foul my coat!"
Linje tore his eyes away from the stranger to restore his fur to its glistening pure white state. He couldn't avoid mumbling and growling to himself as he licked the mud and dirt away. It didn't take long for his muzzle to become caked with mud. "Watch where you're going next time..."

Mani's ears swiveled back, a sincere sense of ' I'm sorry ' in her eyes. The dark cheetah somewhat dodged the angry leopards' lashing gestures, she didn't know if he honestly meant to harm her or not, but she wasn't going to wait and find out. For a fleeting moment, Mani wondered how she'd even managed to laugh the stranger into the water. Leopards are bigger than her. ..Too bad she was zoned out when they collided. it must've been kinda cool to see.
" I-I'm sorry, really I am. I didn't mean run into you.. " Mani said in her quiet voice. " ..I have the problem of zoning out when I'm to myself. "
She watched the obviously angry leopard try and lick himself clean. " I don't think you look all that bad for being launched into the watering hole. "

"I know." Linje said, matter-of-factly. "I never look bad."
A paw swept its way across his turquoise-streaked face, chunks of mud making thumping sounds on the ground. "Though, I prefer to look good without this gunk rotting my image." He still had a growl to his voice, obviously still bitter despite the cheetah's apology. "Ugh, this is going to take hours to clean." Linje resumed his business, clearing the away the grim little by little.
"You have quite a problem... zoning out. Maybe you should avoid running. You could really cause some damage. What if you trampled a cub?" Linje was just mumbling to himself, he didn't care whether Mani had already left or not. He wasn't paying any attention. "Some animals can be SO inconsiderate... spoiling a perfectly good coat like that... Honestly..."

Mani's tail and ears drooped considerabley upon hearing Linje's comment about her zoning out problem. What if she trampled a cub? If that ever happened, she'd feel so horrible.
" I'd feel terrible if that happened. .. If that happened I'd give them one of my own, in place of the one they lost. " The dark cheetah said with sadness in her dark blue eyes. Exhaling, she observed the irritable leopard clean himself little, by little. She could understand being angry, but got the feeling he was a little to obsessed with appearances. But then again, her grumpy company had a much lighter coat then her own. So following that train of though, she decided he wasn't too obsessed.
" Um.. It's going to take awhile if you..just clean by yourself. ..I could help. ..If you wanted my help, that is. " Mani knew she at least had to offer, since it was her fault that he was dirty.

Linje spun around, ears pricked and straining forward as if surprised to see she was still there. A paw stroked his face again, hunks of mud descending as Linje narrowed his purple eyes at the darker female. "I must have heard you incorrectly. Your voice is so quiet." The white fur on his brow furrowed skeptically as he examined her and leaned closer. "You'd give them your own cub? Do you really think that would be helpful?" Linje recoiled his head, shaking it and shutting his eyes as if it was no use.
"No." The leopard refused her offer. "You'd just soil it more. I'll take care of it." He resumed his grooming, this time with troubling thoughts bouncing around in his mind. It made his head pulse with pain, he sure disliked thinking too much about someone that wasn't himself. But most of all, he wondered why the cheetah was still by his side.

" No, you heard me right. It may not be all that helpful, but it'd be a step. I'd have to atone somehow.." Mani said succinctly. She'd said what she meant, and meant what she said. Sure, it may not be the best thing, but if helped to ease the pain that she started.
Mani continued watching the leopard clean himself. " ..Are you sure? I-I wouldn't mind since.. it is my fault that you're dirty. "
Mani didn't really understand why the leopard didn't take her offer.

Linje let the silence grow as the cheetah stopped talking, unintentionally making it seem as if he was ignoring her. This female was persistent, and she seemed selfless... but mislead. A wicked glint appeared in his eyes as the leopard hatched an idea. He purred, turning to Mani with a more content expression on his face.
"Yes, I'm sure." He answered, finally. "But there is something you can do to help me." A grin broke across his face as he regained his regal posture, despite the mud that still coated his fur. "If you really want to help me, that is." He gently shut his eyes, letting them linger there until he opened them only halfway. The answer he expected, if this creature was as honest as she seemed to be, was undoubtedly favorable.

Mani's heart beat quickened a bit as she saw a grin on the leopard's face. She'd heard him clearly, and yet she couldn't quite understand what made this sudden jump in the beating of her heart. It seemed to thump hard in her chest, but seemed almost like it was in her throat. Seemed almost as though she'd just finished running at full speed for several miles or more. Was she catching something and not realizing it..?
Mani smiled, " Of course, I'd be more than willing to help you out. "

"Excellent." The leopard stepped closer, ears straining forward and voice advancing a level in intensity. "I require a stone. But! Not just any stone. The roughest, thinnest stone you can find." Linje returned to his original position, lifting his paw only to lick it once. "Oh, and one more thing." He smirked, "It has to be reddish gray in color, and glitter like morning dew."
That should keep her busy for a while. "You are dismissed." He waved a paw in her direction, leaning in towards his messy fur to continue cleaning.

Mani titled her head a little. A rock? that's all that he wanted? Interesting, to say the least. But, if that's what he wanted, that's what she would find. But where was a good spot to start? Well, she might as well start in the area around her, to look for this stone that her leopard company desired. The dark cheetah started scouring the rocks near the water, seeing as how it would be a good spot to start. And, sometimes she saw some pretty cool rocks around bodies of water. Mani kept in mind that the stone she was looking for was reddish grey and glittery. She kept repeating that to herself in her head.

"And don't forget, rough. Like a sort of sandy texture." Linje raised his voice as much as he needed to for the cheetah to hear. If Mani actually managed to find such a stone, it'd definitely benefit him... But he was pleased just to have someone move with every of his commands.
It was satisfying. Linje took his eyes off the cheetah, clearing away the last bit of grime that clung to his coat. It was still a bit stained and wet, but it would do for now. I'll touch it up later.... "What is your name, purple cheetah?"

Mani halted her search for this interesting stone, and looked at the leopard. Of whom, seemed to still be dirty, but he had gotten most of the grim out of his coat. " My name is Mani. " The dark cheetah said with a smile. She waited to hear the leopard's name, but figured that she should still do some searching while she waited. Mani wondered why the leopard wanted such a rock but, perhaps he just liked pretty rocks.

"Well met, Mani." The leopard flicked his tail upon hearing the cheetah's name. A lazy yawn came from his jaws as he lowered his white form to the soft dirt. He knew she expected his name in return, but she simply didn't deserve it. Not yet, anyone. Maybe while she strives to earn this privilege, he'd give her a fake title to refer to him to.
Linje grinned devilishly as he thought of the possibilities. Majesty? Highness? Lord? He couldn't help but laugh. Yes, they all sounded so fitting. He cast his eyes towards the cheetah, still heavy with his thoughts.
