Odette moved through a thick area of forest, over grown with trees and their roots. Bushes littered the place and tall grass made it easy for those with more earthen tones to blend in. She knew some where on the other side was one of the few two legger villages she heard tales about but she didn't have a clue how to reach it.
She felt as if she had been walking all day trying to avoid the more prickly of the bushes. A black bird with little traces of blue swooped down over her head startling the wish from the eerie silence she had found herself in the farther in she had gone. She attempted to duck out of the way, tripping over a large out grown tree root. Planted face first she felt the pang of her nose long before the pain in her paw, one she happened to have landed most of her weight on.

Chip was having a wonderful day, it was just so peachy keen he didn't know...Oh who was he kidding. He was having a horrible day. Where it was a nice enough day but it wasn't the weather that was getting him down, it was the full moon that would be here in a night or two. He could feel it in his bones, it always made him more irritable when it drew closer. He hated his family heritage it was such a pain in the neck.
He had been walk for the better part of the day trying to get away from the smells of other wishes like he always did at times like this. He wanted...no needed to be alone. He couldn't trust him self, never trust him self and this was the root of a lot of his problems. He looked up to see where he was heading in the middle of his brooding and saw a bird swooping. How queer. Must be food around for it then.

Flicking her tail, she laid there quietly miserable with the pain in her paw. Just great.. she thought to herself.. What bad luck on a good day. Slowly she rolled off of her paw and positioned the other under her to pull herself upright. Carefully she pressed some weight on her hurt paw to test it. It was painful but could have been worse, atleast she could still walk on it. Turning her attention to the tree branches above her she tried to spy the crazy avian. It sat perched on a particularly low branch staring right at her with beady black eyes. She couldn't possibly guess what was wrong with this bird. Whatever the case it had it out for her, swooping down and chasing her through the forest.
She couldn't run her fastest leaving her to receive a few hard pecks on the head from the bird. Her luck took another wrong turn. Some pesky small animal had made their burrow well hidden with foliage from the trees and tall grass, making it possible to miss when one was running. Odette found the burrow with her hurt paw, falling into the hole and making the wish fall over once again. The bird gave one last peck before it was satisfied with its harrassment and flew off.

Chip watched the site of the swooping bird, what was it after anyways. He never knew a bird that couldn't get it's catch in two to three go's. Then it hit him, that sent, oh lord no not that sent! It was the sent of a wish. He pray that it wasn't true, that his nose was lying but it never did. He saw it in the distance running away from the attacking bird. He was stunned, he was so sure that he was getting away from others, not closer! What a pain!
He watched the seen till the bird stopped attacking because it looked like the wish fell and he could help but laugh in spite of him self. It was a rather funny site after all. Poor thing.
All manners of his being told him to leave the wish to it's self, it be fine right? He had to be on his way! If he was this close to one wish now how many more where hidden close by? He turned to go but something was stopping him, a small voice in his head saying you can't! Not with out knowing that it's ok. Damn that voice to hell. It was the most annoying voice in the world. He turn and ran to the fallen wish, all the while thinking about how much more trouble this wish was in for with him around. With his large strides he was by the others side in no time.
"Are you ok?" He spoke rather gruffly, still fighting an internal battle over what was more harmful to this wish, it being hurt with no help or him helping. "Are you stuck?"

Odette mewed softly in dissapointment. The bad luck had gotten worse before it could get better. Atleast no one had seen the bird attack, from what she could tell she was still alone. Squirming she tried to pull her paw free of the hole and gave a loud howl. At worst she broke something. At best it was just a sprain. The good news it seemed was that the dirt was soft and had recently been dug but the creature that did it wasn't still in it.
Lowering her ears her mewed at herself Alright Odette suck it up.. Before she could try again she felt the other before seeing them. Looking to her side she stared unblinking "Um.. no.. not stuck just hurt."

Chip looked over the situation and thought up the best course to take. "Hold on and I'll get it free in a jiffy." He said almost begrudgingly as he moved towards the paw. She said it was hurt so just pulling it up and out could make things worse so he started to dig close to her paw but no touching it. The idea was that if he dug a whole next to the one her paw was in, that dirt would fall away into the new whole with easy.
His sharp claws ripped and tore at the earth with easy and grace...almost like a hot knife through butter. He made fast work of it and was done almost as soon as it started. Some of the dirt already started to fall away from the female's paw. "All right can you move it free now or does it hurt to much?"

She stayed still, not wanting to make much movement to cause more pain and discomfort. Already this was humiliating to have this male find her like this. Had he seen the bird? She watched him dig beside the hole making it bigger and easier to move her paw in. With little effort now she pulled back freeing her paw. "I don't know.."
Slowly she stepped down on it and before she could put down her full weight her limb buckled and she mewed picking it back up. "It still hurts. Do you think I broke it?"

Chip cursed inside his head. This was not the reaction he wanted to her from her or see. He bent down close to the limb and looked it over with his golden eyes. When he spoke his voice was still so ruff. He seemed to say everything almost begrudgingly. "It could be but I'm no healer. Maybe you sprang it...a bad sprang." He didn't know what to tell her, he had a basic knowledge in this field but he did know that keeping it cold was the best way to keep down the swelling that was starting to flair up from the looks of it. "You need to get that limb into a cool stream and the sooner the better."
He wanted to leave he's encounter with this female at that and go...but could he really do that now. He knew he couldn't and dug his claws into the dirt to relieve some of the frustration he felt. It helped a little. "Come on, lean on my side and I'll help you to a babbling brook I saw not to far back." He stood beside her with his flanks facing her hurt side.

Odette lifted her paw off the ground and limped a little. It wasn't terribly hard to walk on three legs, just awkward. Her ears flattened briefly hearing him say it must be a bad sprain. "That is good news atleast. Not broken I mean.." she nodded to him and limped a little further.
She was about to ask if he knew where a stream was but quickly she got her answer. Without giving it much thought she leaned on him and put very little weight on her hurt paw. "Thank you for helping me"

Chip felt the weight of her warm body on his. The first touch sent a tingling sensation rippling out from that area. It had been too long since he felt the touch of another, he had been alone so long. "Don't mention it." and the way he said it was in the literal sense. Chip didn't like to be reminded of what he was giving up to keep others safe.
He started to move in rhythm with her to make it easier on her. A small breeze picked up and it blew her sent into his nose, it was sweet like honeysuckle or so it seemed to him. It reminded him of home. He ears pulled back tight as his muzzle twitch at the though of something that was just a memory but still made his heart hurt because he'd never go back even tho he'd be loved there and excepted. He sneezed and shook his head to rid it of the wonderful smell.
In no time really they where a the brook. He didn't really say anything to her. He didn't know what to say and he could afford to cozy with her or it be her life on the line. "Are you ok here?" He asked not as gruffly as he had been the whole time.

Her mind swam as she too was taking in his almost feral scent. She wondered how long he had been on his own. Wondered why it was a male could smell that way and make her feel a little weak in the legs. Compose yourself, it's just a male!
She was relieved when they had reached the brook. "I should be.. thank you." She gave him a warming smile completely unaware he might be a danger to her. That calming effect she had on others made her passive Slowly she hobbled over to it, stepping in and lowering her hurt paw into the cold water. "If you have to leave you don't have to wait around on me to feel better"

His mind screamed out YES!!!!!!!!! That was the answer he wanted to hear after all...wasn't it? If it really was then why did part of him, a small part of him feel, well let down. He gazed into her two toned eyes the whole time she talked, looked like she was telling the truth.
He didn't say anything after braking eye connect with her, he just walked to the brook's bank beside her and bent down so that his lips almost touched the cool water and started to lap some of it up. He stared at her limp in the water as he did so. To his delight and in the small part of him, his disappointment, the limp did look fine. Nothing new looked added to it from the walk over here.
He stood up straight gazed in her eyes as he started to walk away. "I shall take my leave now. I wish you all the best miss and please. Next time you want to take a walk have someone go with you." He started trot off but before he was to far out of ear shot he yelled. "And don't go out at night!" With that he was running with the wind. His strong powerful legs carried him far and fast away from her. It was best to be way from her...She'd be better with out him then with. The day was coming to an end and he had to go as far as he could in that time.

Lowers her head, waving her paw around to feel the cool water ripple and move around it. He was right it was feeling a little better after being in the cold water. It was just a sprain.
Looking back at him she noticed him watching her. "I will, thank you again." She responded and flicked her tail out of the water sending droplets raining down onto the rest of her fur. There wasn't enough time to even say good bye before he was gone. Was he running away? From her? She sighed and went back to soothing her paw, letting the idea trickle over her back like water so it didn't bother her. Worrying over a stranger didn't help her any. Feeling the cold start to sting her paw she stepped out and laid down on the bank to rest before going back in for another few minutes.

Chip had run as hard as he could but it didn't feel like enough distance from her to be safe. He could feel it now, the strong pulse of the moon boiling his blood. The day was ending and magic hour was starting in more ways then one. He saw the first star coming out in the yellowing sky, he growled and wished hard that the other him that was about to take over would run in a different direction from the one he came. He was much stronger, could run so much faster and was ruled by a blood lust.
He tried in vane to wedge his paw and limp between a tree and one that fell and now rested up against it. His bones started to crack, he glared up at the darkening sky and eyed the sliver moon rising over head. Oh the pain became unbearable as his spine twisted, his muzzle elongated as did his teeth and claws. More fur grew to give him a much thicker coat and his head, paws and back changed completely. He now looked more like a wolf then a wish, he was bigger, had more muscles and a wild raw animal rage that ruled him with a iron fist.
He easily ripped his paw free from the trees, breaking the old, dry fallen one in the process. He howled a long ragged howl at the moon. The hunt for blood was on.
