This is going to be a weekly post of mine, telling you about the movies that will come out next friday, and what i expect of them! So without further ado...

This week at the cinema:

The Crazies

"As a toxin begins to turn the residents of Ogden Marsh, Iowa into violent psychopaths, sheriff David Dutton (Olyphant) tries to make sense of the situation while he, his wife (Mitchell), and two other unaffected townspeople band together in a fight for survival."

To me, this says "zombie movie". I don't expect much from it and will probably not see it till it comes out on DVD.

Cop Out

"A comedy about a veteran NYPD cop (Willis) whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner (Morgan) to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster."

YES! This looks awesome! I'd definately see this in the cinema. Of course, I'm a Bruce Willis fan...

The Yellow Handkerchief

"An ex-con (Hurt) hitches a ride with two teenagers (Stewart and Redmayne) to see his estranged wife (Bello). "

This doesn't hit my interest at all... it looks like a good movie for couples or somethin.

A Prophet

"A young Arab man (Rahim) serving time in a French prison transforms into a mafia kingpin."

Looks like a decent movie, but i will not be seing it in theater.

Defendor

"Every night, Arthur Poppington (Harrelson) becomes Defendor, a superhero looking to rid his city of drugs, weapons, and the crime lord known as Captain Industry. With a new ally, teenage prostitute Katerina (Dennings), Defendor infiltrates the criminal underworld, steps away from a showdown with Captain Industry."

Looks like a kind of a superhero mockery type movie. Might be good?

And thats it!

I think A Prophet just won a BAFTA award for best foreign language film.

This week at the cinema!

March 5th!

Alice in Wonderland

"19-year-old Alice (Wasikowska) returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror."

I didn't realize this was a sequel at first, till i saw depp say "your back!" then i started questioning it. I wasnt planning on seeing it in theaters, but now that i realize its a sequel, it might be worth a pop in.

Brooklyn's Finest

"In Brooklyn, New York, three veteran cops (Gere, Hawke, and Cheadle) struggling with their own personal and professional dilemmas dispatched to a notorious housing project, where they will each collide with destiny."

No, i wont see it. However, it does look good, its just not showing in my local theater!

The Secret of Kells

"As his medieval outpost faces a threat from advancing barbarian hordes, talented, young Brendan looks to finish illuminating an ancient book that could help keep his home safe. To do so, he will have to overcome his fears of an enchanted forest where mythical creatures are thought to hide."

Personally, anything that has the word mythical in it is worth a look at! I love sci fi and fantasy! However, once more, this is not in my local theater....

And thats it! A small week for openings...
