Hey guys I'm glad I caught your attention heh I know I know that subject on this post was very interesting and eye-appealing ummmmmmm *thinks of something to talk about*
...........so.....how about them mudkips? lol kidding but really I want to know something....the real subject is well does anyone ever get tired of metal? I know after listening to it for a long time some can get a little boring...I myself have been listening to metal for about maybe 5 years straight (way way back then the only thing I listened to was something like fall out boy and at that time it was the most hardest form of rock I knew lol yes yes I know pretty lame but hey we all started out somehow) I still like listening to metal but sometimes I get a little bored of it......maybe this is why we like to go and check out other music (I would never go as far as listening to something like lady gaga lol) sometimes....don't get me wrong though i'm still a metalfreak and I don't think i'll ever ever get tired of it for good but sometimes some metal bands get a little boring and with a few it almost gets to the point where a lot of the new gay metal bands sound the same (like redchord or gotherfall).....maybe I am just going through something I don't know what or maybe I just need to expand my search and look up more creative metal bands....anyways I know i'll never get permanently tired of it but I do admit that some can get sort of boring

You're probably used to listening to the same bands that don't contribute anything to their genre.
Try branching out, listening to different sub-genres and then even different styles among them. Funeral doom has ******** loads of variants, so does black metal, sludge, post-rock, etc.

I'm pretty bored with Metal at the moment.
After spending the last three or so years looking for the best and most different sounding Metal bands, I realized, Metal is one of the most simplistic, similar sounding genres. So, I moved on to another simplistic, similar sounding genres, EDM, but at least it doesn't claim to be anything its not.
I still listen to Metal bands, almost daily, but I listen a to a lot less then I used to.

It's the fans' claim, not the genres. confused

I've heard plenty of Metal Musicians, both famous and non famous claim Metal is one of the most talented genres around.
Even if you take that part out of my post, the point is, I got tired of Metal and prefer EDM. So the answer to the question "does anyone ever get tired of metal?" is 'yes'. Yes, I did.

I usually listen to both metal and pop daily so I don't get bored of either. Though some pop bands are overly played here (like Lady Gaga at the moment) so it gets irritating when you have to hear her more than twice an hour. D: But the hype will go away soon and I'll start liking her music after it's not being shoved in my face everywhere I go. And my brother listens to a lot of different types of metal so when I'm usually at my parents' for the weekend I get to listen to all the new types of metal he's got into during the past week. Most of it's grind core which I don't approve of, but I still listen to it.

I get bored with metal now and then. I tend to go through a lot of phases with my music listening. Sometimes for weeks all I'll listen to is old jazz. Same goes for classical, blues, folk, rock, rap, country, reggae, or whatever.
Or sometimes it's just specific sub-genres. Like I recently went through a big folk metal phase. If you're getting bored, just poke around and do some searching for new bands that play something a little different. Take a look in the band links thread, pick out a sub-genre you don't know much about, and check out some of those bands on youtube or something. As they say, variety is the spice of life.

I guess variety is the key but no matter how much time will pass I will never like uhhhh...country...rap....pop...blues jazz well pretty much all other music genre...I don't know for me they don't give me the same feeling and craving I get when I listen to metal all i'm saying is I guess I just need more variety then the metal i'm listening to right now but I do know I will never really get tired of it xp

Besides metal, I enjoy lots of electronic music, certain types of rock ("classic" hard, post-rock, gothic, stoner, and progressive), futurepop and synthpop (if you don't consider those to fall under the umbrella of electronic), and occasionally reggae if the mood strikes me. I've always enjoyed classical music as well, but I've just never gotten around to digging deeper than the well-known composers, though I keep meaning to.

Been watching/reading some Evangelion Ash? wink
I also enjoy rock unless it's played really loud by my neighbours in the middle of the night so my bed trembles and stuff on my desk and shelves fall off. :/ And classical music is always nice. I've never got into electronic music or reggae.

Dark_Mana Been watching/reading some Evangelion Ash? wink Something like that. More like recalling the series and how much I love it, despite my complete disagreement with Anno's philosophy.
