The birth had gone uneventfully, which was a blessed relief considering there were no other experienced mothers within the pack, other than perhaps Liriel who had had one litter. Though from what Haemon now heard of the masked female she was even more unhinged than when he had first met her and he'd not let her near her beloved Raelin while birthing. Geri and Freki had also, so far stayed away from the family since their first meeting Raelin but he did not doubt they would come soon and Haemon was dreading that day, now knowing how defensive Raelin was of their beloved pups.
He sat calmly overlooking this family as they played outside the den and within eye sight. Raelin was among them, never comfortable to sit back and watch them, she seemed to feel more at ease when she could be in reach of them all. Chi Yoko was up in the branches above them, also watching over them and every so often casting his beady eyes into the forest. Haemon had to admit the blood red raven was a welcomed sentinel now. Haemon enjoyed these moments, when all seemed at peace within the small little family of his, when he could forget about his own tormented past and rotten family.
Though even this little family of his seemed to be developing problems, his youngest son had Haemophilia, which he had yet to tell Raelin. He feared her reaction, that she may be even more overprotective of the male pup and he not think that was healthy and also he feared Raelin's reaction towards herself as she'd have to learn that it was her that had given him the deadly condition. For now Haemon chose to keep it to himself, perhaps once the male reached his adolescent years he'd tell his mate, but until then he hoped the issue did not surface, that Liulfr remained undamaged and out of harm's way. He kept an eye on the pup but feared the worse, that the issue would arise sooner than he wished, he had seen far to many times now how the young brother had protected his sisters against his rougher older brother and he could not afford to rough and tumble to much, or else it'd cost him his life.
Haemon sighed, a mixture of dispair and happiness, a strange mix but then again Haemon was a strange wolf. Nothing was ever simple even within his own little family.

Of course, Raelin was enjoying this time more than she ever thought she would. Having pups of her own, watching them jump about and play around.. It made her as happy as she had ever been. Especially with the knowledge that they were pups between her and the wolf that she had come to love so much. They were reminders that her heart was healing and her mind could truly be soothed.
That did not mean she didn't have the small pup inside of herself, though, with insecurities. No matter how comfortable she became, they would never fully disappear from her.
She noticed that the youngest pup was very loving towards her father, seeming to want his attention the most. This made her heart flutter, seeing how much of a wonderful father Haemon was. It proved to her that, even if her own father was a waste, there were wolves out there than could thrive in being with their pups.
It almost made her fall in love with Haemon all over again.
"Be careful," She called softly to the pups, her eyes ever watching them. Yes, she was quite protective, not wanting to see a single one of them harmed. They were each precious to her--worth more than anything. Her family was what brought her strength and happiness.

Kaida sat calmly beside her mother, eyes trained on her younger brother. She had just sat back down from 'playing' with her siblings again. She had not been in the mood to play. She was never really in the mood to play. It always seemed to get out of hand with her eldest brother. So it simply made it easier to not play. However she couldn't seem to get her siblings to understand the logic behind this; so she settled for just watching him closely. A small huff escaped her at her mother's words. She loved her mother she did but honestly. Saying the words 'be careful' didn't really do anything. She worried far to much and refused to see the darker side of any of her pups. At least thats what Kaida thought. She laid in the grass with her family picking out all the little problems. All of the things that could potentially lead to problems for Liulfr.

Nessus was bothered. Utterly so. He hated the feeling he was being watched. He hated it more so when the feeling was constantly with him, never leaving, never turning. Eyes always glued to his tiny form. It made him irritable and sullen, quick to temper and slow to clam down. It was paranoia, that much he knew. What he didn't know however was why he felt like this. Why did he feel like he was forever being watched. It was not his siblings, when they stared at him it didn't bother him, well only a little, but not as much as the feeling that something and everything was watching him all at once. Invisible beings that lived...somewhere. Somewhere out there, just behind his range of vision. He shook his head, before pushed his snout into the dirt and ran his paws over his face in an agonizing motion.
To the gathered onlookers it might look like Nessus was merely playing. What male pup didn't like to roll in the dirt or hunt for worms? Oh if only they knew. If only they knew the dangerous things that lurked inside such a young mind. The monsters that chased his brain and made him retch into the grass after he finished his ministrations.
He looked up quickly, wondering if anyone had noticed he had gotten sick. He hoped they hadn't. Life was better when he was ignored entirely.

Liulfr paused from chasing Nayeli about in a game of tag, trying to n** at his beloved sisters tail, though of course he knew he could outrun the petite female but they'd be no fun in that and he enjoyed seeing the pleasure she got from darting from left to right trying to avoid his snapping jaws. He inhaled a large lungful of cool icy air and looked about for his other two siblings. His eyes came to rest upon Nessus and the bloody red of his pelt, his brother seemed to be digging about in the soil hardened from the winters deep freeze and though at first this activity seemed harmless enough Liulfr always had his suspicions about his brother and his ulterior motives but he did not investigate this time, always finding he was confronted by something adverse. instead he smiled at his youngest and puffed at her, 'I just need a moment sister, you've tired me out and I just couldn't catch you.'
He smiled and turned to begin to walk towards his mother but his eyes were fixed to Kaida, he smiled warmly at the sister he felt so close to and often strangely felt looked after by but with a wink he turned and looked behind him at Nayeli and wiggled his own tail daring her to try and catch it and then smiled before turning back to Kaida and trotting up to her. He smiled at her, smiles he found cost nothing and indicated the love and joy his sisters brought him in their simple presence. He sat down in front of her and jested with her, 'Not in the mood to play?' He knew Kaida will enough and his smile turned from a loving welcoming to a knowing slip across his maw.

Nayeli seemed to be one of the only siblings who thrived being under her father's gaze. Sure, she loved her mother, who looked out for her. But her father made her feel good, she wanted to please him more than anyone else. Once her brother stopped chasinng her about, she whined slightly and moved to tuck herself carefully along her father's paws, licking at them softly.
"Liulfr is good at chasing, Father." She chirped up to him, her tail wagging back and forth as she stared at the two siblings who talked to eachother. They seemed closer than the rest of them, it made her wonder if they found her annoying.
Then, of cousrse, there was Nessus. He was weird and she never really understood him. She frowned a little at the other.

Haemon sat watching out over the scene and every so often he'd look up from the pups height to find the eyes of his mate and he felt his heart warm and he'd let this warmth enter his eyes for her to see. After once such fleeting moment, Haemon noticed his little girl break off from her brother who now headed towards Kaida, the two seemed to have a strange bond but it did not seem damaging to anyone so he did not mind it albiet there was something strange about Kaida, she always seemed some what reserved and sat out of most of the playing. He did not mind really, perhaps she was just a quite sort of pup and she seemed to watch over Liulfr which was a good thing as she often seemed to be the one to break up their fights.
Nayeli greeted her father with a nuzzling of his paws and tiny tender licks of her pink tongue. Haemon smiled down at his precious little bundle of fur at his paws, 'And you did well at avoided him.' He caught her eye and followed the line in which it travelled, to Nessus. Yes, he gave his father reason to frown as well as his sister. The male pup was unlike all the others entirely and gave him far more reason to concern than Kaida albeit the pups were young and still developing their characters but he knew now that Nessus was one of his pups that he truly did need to watch with caution. He sighed and shook his head lightly and then looked down at Nayeli again and his smile return, at least she'd always bring him joy. He lifted one of his fore paws and raised it above her head and waved it threateningly before slamming it down the other side of her and in one quick motion he scooped her up in a writhing mass and flipped her onto her back and buried his cold nose into the warm fur lining of her belly.

A almost silent growl escaped her as she watched Nessus. His strange flighty patterns in behavior, like he was but wasn't there. Though at the moment he seemed normal. His rolling and digging in the dirt. Her eyes moved from him to Liulfr as he approached.
Kaida smiled and wagged her tail lightly as her brother stopped in front of her. His smile making her feel pleased and warm. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at her brothers antics with their little sister. But innocence needed to be preserved for a long as possible she supposed, and Nayeli was that. She lifted a paw to swat at her brother.
"There my attempt at playing. I just am so tired, and you are all they way over there." She laughed a little at him. Kaida relaxed as she glanced over at her farther as he shifted his eyes from them to his youngest daughter. "You know too well Liulfr. Besides you were enjoying yourself with Nayeli weren't you?"

He licked his chops as he tasted his own bile and the old taste of death, their former meal. It had been an elk he believed. His eyes watered as his belly gave another heave. The contents of his stomach did not taste as well coming out as it did going in, but it was no matter. Soon Nessus had regained his composure and looked around his surroundings once more. He did not like it here. He did not like his family, especially when they growled or stared at him.
He hated everyone, but he was wise enough not to let on.
He shook his head and moved away from his sick, careful not to step in it lest he receive sharp reprimands.
"I do not feel well," he said, his small voice only an inch above a whisper. "May I go home?"
Of course, this was a lie and only a ploy to get time away from his family, but they didn't have to know that.

Raelin frowned a little as she heard her son's words. "I suppose, Nessus. But you must go straight home. No detours." Her her shook, looking over to her mate. She was curious if his abilities would be able to tell if their son was truly sick.. Her eyebrows furrowed and she glanced back to her son.
Of course, she caught the scent of what was left over from his stomach heaving, but.. Ah, how dare she think such things! Her baby was ill.
"Will you take him, Haemon? He shouldn't be alone on his journey back." She wasn't.. overly trusting of the members. Though most were smart enough not to mess with her children due to their father, she would take no risk.

It was odd, thinking herself a teen and knowing too much about life as it was. Gabrielle knew what it was like to be in a depression, in a state of such listlessness that she wondered if she was living for any purpose at all. Liriel was mad with revenge, btu she kept to herself more than ever now, regarding her daughter's visits with contempt; on more than one occassion Gabby had nearly recieved several bite wounds for her efforts, btu just as the sun could not stop rising, so too could she not stop loving her mother, however degraded her mind had become.
She had realized that too much of her time had been spent on self-pity and impatience, and now maturity was slowly taking in. That, and the reassuring words from Cassius had brightened her day. Mog was letting her train under Damon too, so in all honesty she had nothing to comaplin about now . . . besides the lamentation of wanting a family herself, but this was not new; Gabrielle had always wanted a family since she was weaned off breastmilk and capable of sight.
The next best thing was to watch the happy (yes?) families and their pups, perhaps make friends with the younglings if they had that sort of temperament. As it was, she happened to be trotting by the group of blacks and reds as she mused to herself what a lovely day it was to explore the territory. Spring indeed was revealing her splendor! "Hail!" she called to them with a smile. "Am I interrupting a family outing?" She had not seen the little ones about up until now.

Haemon's attentions were lost from Nayeli, the warm bundle within the grasp of his front fore paws as another wolf approached their blood pumping around their body at a steady easy pace. Haemon lifted his nose from Nayeli's belly and his eyes glazed slightly and he focused, it had a certain aptitude for mapping the creatures circulatory system which allowed him to judge the size of the wolf. They were not large which meant it was Moghedien or a teen and the only teens he knew of was Liriel's litter. Either way, as long as it wasn't his brothers he cold see no immediate harm.
However before the other wolf appeared his attentions were snapped back to the clearing and his pups 'Will you take him, Haemon?'. He looked at Raelin, catching her eye before focusing on Nessus, his eyes fixed to his blood red son but he said nothing, dragging the moment out which inconceivably allowed the other pack member to approach. He winked at Nessus and then turned and focused on the fiery feather marked female. 'Not at all.' was the answer he gave, his voice losing the easiness he solely used when around his pups and Raelin, no, now his voice carried like an eerie mist found rolling across the ground at dusk in autumn.

Liulfr smiled at his sister and replied, 'Of course I was but that doesn't mean to say you couldn't of at least attempted to catch me as well.' He grinned hinting at the fact that he doubted Kaida won't of caught him either. But before he could receive a playful revoke from his serious sister he heard Nessus' voice call out from behind; sick? He turned about, his head turned over his shoulder and soon his hind legs twisted his body about and he sat himself next to Kaida looking out directly at Nessus a small frown forming on his brow which always seemed to be drawn upon his face automatically whenever he looked at his brother.
He turned his head and looked at his mother and he almost wanted to call out some sort of puppish insult directed at Nessus but he held his tongue knowing his mother would become maddened and her temper directed at one target was never a good thing, even more so when it was yourself and he knew he'd pay for it later with Nessus one way or another so he simply held his tongue and stared across the clearing at his father who seemed some what distracted. His distraction became clear when another wolf broke into the clearing and his eyes were drawn to the female, this was the first pack member he'd seen and more so this was the first wolf he'd seen who wasn't already here in the clearing.

Nessus tried his best to look pitiful and forlorn, wanting to convey just how 'sick' he was. Somewhere deep down he could sense his parents didn't believe him, and was ever so thankful when a new wolf approached. Ducking down low, his belly grazing into the grass he began to creep away, his ears flattened against his skull, trying to make himself invisible.
Once he was out of earshot he turned around and instead of going home he decided he wanted to listen in on the conversation at hand. He balled himself into a tight bundle in tall grass so he looked like a red round of dirt against the natural wonder. He pricked his ears forward and listened in

Kaida snorted at her brother. "Sick in the head maybe." She stated in a low whisper meant only for her brother's ears. She nudged him lightly with her shoulder, her attempt at telling him it was alright and he needn't think on it to much. She would keep him safe.
However she was pulled from these thoughts as a new wolf approached. She tilted her head lightly her ears forward but otherwise she didn't move. "A friend of the family?" She asked again only directed at her brother. She was more asking for his thoughts on the matter, she knew he didn't know anymore then she did.
"Hello." She said softly her eyes swimming with shadows and a want for information. Her intelligence shining through.
