Kale cradled the Jaws all the way until he got home. He didn't let it out of his arms as he opened the door and stepped in announcing cheerfully, "I'm home," for all to hear that wanted to hear. He had taken his sweet time on getting home at least a little. For various reasons. He was happy to be home now, though. He would get to see Switch and to show her the neat thing he had found while he was out and briefly he wondered how ago it had been since he left and just now got back. It would possibly be something to ask when Switch came to greet him.

Quietly he flicked his gaze about and sought for signs of life within the abode.

It was just hitting the evening hours when he got home so perhaps everyone was already getting ready for bed? Oops. He didn't mean to disturb anyone, quietly he moved to set the Jaws down on the table, the object suddenly felt weighty in his arms for reasons he couldn't quite explain.

Switch had heard the front door open just as she was putting Tek to bed. The infant was fast asleep, but his grip on her shirt was practically iron! Nngh, she wanted to go see Kale! She hadn't seen him in a while and a lot of things had happened! She missed him and wanted to see him again...but Tek would not let go, and calling out to Kale would wake him up! Not fair! Grumbling to herself, she worked to get that iron grip to let go of her shirt, and after a few minutes of struggling she managed to free herself.

Trying not to be excited, she snuck out of the room then went to hunt Kale down. Once she found him she practically pounced on him in a tight hug, nuzzling her face into his chest before leaning up for a brief kiss. "Welcome back!" She said quietly, not wanting to wake either of the boys. Kay slept like the dead, but Tek was a little easier to wake. Luckily for everyone involved, the Shopkeep didn't notice that very familiar aura from the set of shark teeth; she was even too excited to see Kale to register that he'd been chosen as a Guardian by her damned shop.

"You've been gone for almost two weeks." Switch pouted, figuring that was going to be one of his questions. It always hurt when he disappeared, mostly because she didn't know what he was up to. Her only comfort was that he didn't know either, and while that seemed to be a cop out, she believed him.

He was prepared for the most part when Switch had pretty much pounced on him. His arms wrapped around her affectionately and he returned the kiss quite happily, "Thanks," he smiled happily and swayed with her side to side with her a bit as he got used to the feeling of her in his arms again. It felt nice to hold her again; if he could he would tell her everything that he did while he was gone. Every single detail even if it was unpleasant. He didn't like hiding anything from Switch not ever. He told her everything even when he had eaten the last slice of cake and he did so in a rather sheepish manner.

Kale frowned a bit when she informed him about how long she had been gone and sighed a bit as he moved to lean his head against hers and squeezed lightly, "I'm sorry, Switch, I really am," he murmured apologetically to her as he stilled. He wished he could just not go away, ever. Just stay home and take care of everything for Switch without interruption that was his dream.

"I love you," he said simply.

Switch hugged him close, as though afraid that once she let go, he'd disappear again. Every time he disappeared, she missed him...and every time he came back, she always feared she was dreaming. She had been very self-sufficient before Kale found her that one day and took her to the hospital...but since then, she'd grown to depend on him. Maybe a little too much...but really, she wouldn't have it any other way now.

"I know, I know you are..." She sighed, closing her eyes and leaning her head against his in return. "You can't help that, I understand." But that didn't mean that it didn't hurt! She swayed with him, pressed comfortably tight against him. His words made her fears go away, her pout replaced by a soft smile.

"I love you, too." She said quietly, lifting her head for another little kiss. She was content to stay in comfortable silence for a while, but the more she realized this wasn't a dream and that he was home for now, the more she realized something strange and vaguely familiar was lingering in the air. Soon, looking past him, she saw the set of Jaws on the table. Her eyes narrowed slightly, having her suspicions.

"...What's that?"

He simply nodded and held onto her still. He let out a small sigh and smiled when she told him that she loved him in return. Kale found that he'd never ever tire of hearing those words from her. He returned the kiss and then just seemed to relax for the moment until she seemed to suddenly look past him. Kale suddenly remembered he had brought home something that was rather interesting he pulled away from her a bit his hand reached for hers so he could pull her along while he explained without being asked, "When I...came to it was sitting next to me. It looked really interesting so I...brought it home. Do you like it Switch?"

Kale flicked his gaze over at Switch hopefully for a moment wanting her to like the object he found. He thought it was really nice and the teeth were actually in good condition and it looked authentic so it must have come from a real shark, right? He hoped so. Fake Jaws seemed tacky and weird to him.

"It's a set of Shark Jaws," he answered proudly to her last question that he hadn't replied to just yet.

Switch stared at the item, holding onto Kale's hand while he led her back to the table. The blue haired woman only half listened to his explanation...all she saw was a set of shark jaws that seemed very familiar to her. Not to mention that aura that came from them. Something in the pit of her stomach sank.

"These jaws...came from..." Switch said in a quiet, disbelieving tone. With a little gasp she grabbed the front of Kale's shirt with her free hand. "Promise me that you didn't go to the shop!" She pleaded as loud as she dared, not wanting to wake either of the boys. While Kale had no reason to lie to her, and she had never known him to lie to her, or to go against something she asked of him...she just needed to be reassured. She tried so hard to keep him from the shop, and vice versa!

"Promise me, Kale!" Her green eyes were wide; if he was telling the truth, which she suspected he was, then the shop was up to something. Not only that, but since she jaws were already here, it meant another mouth to feed!

He blinked at her reaction and at her gripping at his shirt. Kale furrowed his brow and seemed uncertain how to respond because he certainly couldn't make promises for things he couldn't remember outside of finding them next to him on that bench. Could he still promise that he had indeed obeyed her even while he was 'blacked out'? Kale blinked at her quietly before he came to a decision and simply said, "I promise," in the end he felt obligated to promise her something or at least promise what he knew. He couldn't ignore a 'direct order' from Switch, not even if he tried. He glanced down toward the Jaws and then back up at Switch's frantic face.

"What is wrong? D...Did I do bad, Switch?" he didn't like making her unhappy. He didn't like being the one that brought bad things to Switch and if he had then he would have to repent somehow though he wasn't certain as to what end that he would possibly do so if it was bad enough. What if she hated him forever?

...That would never do.

Though she realized it was impossible for him to recall what he did when he was out, his promise made her feel more at ease. It didn't make the situation any better, but at least it was easier to deal with, knowing that he really had no choice in the matter if the shop brought the item to him. Her green eyes closed with a sigh, and she leaned her head onto his shoulder, lips pulled into a light pout.

"...We're either going to have to move, or we're going to need to have them share a room. That item is from the same shop that gave me Kay..." She grumbled to her mate when asked what was wrong, opening one eye to stare down at the set of shark jaws. Damn that item, damn that shop...why Kale, of all people? "You didn't do anything wrong...I'm sorry, It's just...We already have our hands full with..." The hand that had been twisted into his shirt moved, gesturing towards the doors that led to the boy's rooms. Not to mention those weeks where Kale just op and vanished. "...I don't know what kind of kid would come from that." She was worried, clearly worried, what this new addition would do to their family dynamic. It was dysfunctional enough already.

Whatever crazed scenarios Kale played through his head were quashed by Switch's assurances and by her actions. Kale uttered a small sigh and furrowed his brow, "So I guess hanging it on the wall is out of the question?" Well, it'd certainly be a solution to what to do about the room situation...

He could see her worry about what kind of child would come out of the object in question it didn't seem like it would be something pleasant but maybe, just maybe they could make it pleasant? They'd adapt they always adapted. They adapted to everything thus far especially when Tek came to live with them he didn't foresee this child breaking the family though he'd certainly make it bigger. He let out a small puff of air in form of a sigh and watched the Jaws for a moment.

"Maybe. For now, a room could be shared until we..figure something out." Kale said thoughtfully. His thoughts were interrupted when suddenly the Jaws snapped shut startling Kale into clutching onto Switch more firmly as he stared down at the object with wide eyes.

Switch couldn't help the laugh that escaped her lips, but she sure as hell silenced it as fast as she could by burying her face once more into his shoulder. "No, we can't hang it on the wall." She informed him with amusement in her voice, despite the situation. Her lips pursed together once that bit of amusement was over, pondering over the room situation.

"If it's a girl...I'll have Kay and Tek share a room, and if it's a boy...it'll have to share with Ka----ah!" The jaws snapped shut and Switch cried out, clinging as tightly to Kale as he clung to her. Her wide green eyes were on the now closed pair of jaws, her heart racing in absolute panic. "Wuh-What the hell...?!" She breathed out, not once loosening her grip on him.

Kale was quite serious despite Switch's laughter though he felt better now that she was laughing, "Damn," he sighed lightly.

He stared at the Jaws in a bit of disbelief was it reacting to something or was it just being weird and freaking out because it could? Did the items have that capability, he somehow doubted it. Yet now the Jaws began to show hairline cracks upon the center as the bone white began to bleach out further into a uniform pale white.

"I dunno but it's supposed to do that right?" His brow furrowed a bit. He'll definitely not want to hang it on a wall now. It'd look just awful.

..What? He lived there. He had priorities, like making their living space look nice.

Switch watched the colour leak out of the jaws, seemingly from the cracks that sprouted on it. While she wasn't in the room when Kay appeared, she still had his item; it was once beautiful and colourful, now it was dull and lifeless. Blinking, she weaseled out of his arms and instead wandered behind him, one arm draped over his shoulder, the other gripping his other arm. WHile she hid behind him, she was still clinging to him and watching over his shoulder.

"...Only when it's coming to life." She said with a bit of a shaking voice. When Kay arrived it was with a bright flash and a screeching noise, like the one a camera makes...but she understood not all of them came to life like that.

But, in case he did, she was nice and hiding behind her slightly bigger mate.

He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that she hid behind him because he was planning to hide behind her but since she did it first he might as well pretend to be brave or at least not push her out in front that'd make her upset at him and probably put certain other things he enjoyed with her at risk. So he let her hide behind him, besides she was still there so that made it all better for him, his hand moved to reassuringly clasp her wrist even though he was scared out of his wits.

"I..I see," he murmured a bit.

Suddenly there was a rush of ocean waves and a small distant cry of gulls in the air. There was a wash of light from the Jaws that hurt to look at and so Kale turned his head away and turned to cover Switch's head moving his arms to cover her face from the light protectively. After a moment he felt eyes on his back and he glanced back to see a child with silver hair and pupiless eyes staring at them.

Kale furrowed his brow, "It's a boy?"

The boy snorted a bit and simply said, "It's a Quint."

It would have been one epic battle to see who hid behind who, if it had ever come to that. Luckily it hadn't, and so Switch hid behind him, squeaking when everything started to happen, her eyes closing tightly to bury against Kale's shirt when the light flashed and he moved to hold her.

Once it was said and done, one green eye slowly opened, followed moments by the other. There as a boy on the table. Of course there was a boy on the table. A kind of...sharp...looking boy. Named...Quint...?

"Um. Hi...Quint." Switch said quietly, staring at the grayish boy. "I'm Switch and...this is Kale. Kale's your official Guardian but...we're your parents." It...kinda felt nice to acknowledge Kale and herself as heads of the family...together. Of course when she introduced the man she lightly pushed him a little closer, probably to punctuate the importance of it. Probably also to throw Kale under the bus so to speak, if Quint was the bitey type.

True love, that.

"Was'zo noizee...?" Came an exhausted grumble. A few moments later a sleepy boy in boxers trudged out of one of the bedrooms, rubbing at his only real eye before squinting at the little group. Okay, there was Na, and there was Chit, and...who? Gray hair, not a Tek...but still very similar.

"Whosat?" He said, brightening a little bit in excitement...but he was still pretty tired.

Kale found himself nudged toward the boy while clearly in shock that the Jaws had even spawned the boy to begin with. He nodded dumbly and wandered a bit forward and offered out his hand and in reaction the boy recoiled a bit at first and made a chomp at the air in front of Kale. The idea of any of these people touching him at the moment was ... unwanted and unwelcome. He narrowed his eyes as Kale took a step back and dropped his hand a bit and seemed at a loss.

"We aren't going to hurt you, uh.... Quinn," Kale said slowly and when he wasn't corrected he decided to continue using that name, "we just want to take care of you and make sure you stay safe."

Quint stared at Kale and then over at that Switch woman and suddenly a new voice and his eyes gazed over at the new boy in the room.

Kale gazed over at Kay and rubbed the back of his neck, "Sorry about that, Kay, didn't mean to wake you...We have a new family member," he explained simply, "His name is..."

The shark-toothed boy spoke up, "Quint," the other boy seemed familiar and he couldn't quite say why. Somewhere... there was a memory but just as he reached out it was gone...
