Thinking back on it now she wasn't sure why she'd told Sailor Eridanus where she would be. In truth, it was something that she'd mulled over again and again over the past few days while pondering whether or not she really was going to be there. She could just... Not go.
Only... She couldn't. That would leave far too many questions unanswered, several of them being her own. There was still something lurking in Destiny City Park and she had been determined to add it to her patrol list as a result.
Cordelia Carden had waited until she had arrived in the park before transforming into Sailor Corvus under the cover of trees and bushes. It was late enough in the evening that the Park Patrol had already gone through once to shoo any of the stragglers there may have been after dusk out so she didn't have to worry about them.
No, all she had to worry about was whether or not Sailor Eridanus was going to keep up on his word... And whether or not there would be any other weird card shenanigans.

As it happened: Sailor Eridanus was, in fact good to his word. Quite litteraly so, since he was wandering around the park as though he were taking a casual (if cautious of the law) stroll....
And he was wielding a flashlight.
...A big flashlight.
A flash light to which he had tapped a construction paper "Bat logo", which he alternately pointed at the ground, the sky, the trees... pretty much any surface on which he could reasonably cast the Bat Symbol.
Not only was this apparently a huge amount of fun, but he figured it would help out checking out the grounds of the park. Maybe he'd find the meteor... that would actually be kind of cool. His nieces and nephews would go NUTS if he brought home an 'Honest to goodness Meteor'. He hadn't been present for the unusual instance with the cards, or else he might have been even more cautious than he was of running into a policeman while wearing an Senshi uniform and a shoulder bag ((which for some reason was almost unrecognizable, brand wise, for the number of pen doodles on it...)) for the flashlight... or then again... it was Eridanus. He might have just really wanted to see this Card Trick in action and make incredibly bad Alice in Wonderland jokes.
As it was, he seemed to be humming the Batman theme under his breath intermittently.

She heard him before she saw him, which was amazing in itself if only because he was doing a lot to draw attention to himself, what with that flashlight and... Was that the Bat Signal? Corvus groaned, bringing a gloved hand up to shield her eyes as she stepped out into the open.
"Are you crazy?" That was a given, mind you. He had agreed (offered? agreed?) to team up with her and now here he was, roaming around Destiny City Park with a Bat Signal taped onto his flashlight.
Never mind at all that she had almost done the same thing (hers had been left back in her dorm room, a discarded idea).
"You're not going to catch anyone by surprise like that, Sailor Eridanus." She crossed her arms over her chest, brow furrowing as she glanced down to realize that the shape of the bat from his light's beam had now formed on the dark fabric of her gloved arms, giving her the appearance of actually having the Batman logo on her chest. "... That's not funny."
It was. Really, it was, and would have been even more so if she wasn't trying to for the 'srsbsnss' effect again.

Eridanus grinned like the Cheshire Cat as he spotted her, and thumbed off the flashlight with a small but audible click.
"You're right, it was hysterical." He teased, shoving the flashlight into the bag. "I wasn't sure you'd come." He admitted, and he hadn't been. Not as reluctant as she had been to partner up to begin with. "I wasn't too worried about it. How many Senshi have you seen with flashlights?" he offered out. "Normalcy is amazingly deceptive." He added with a wink. Or anyway he thought it might be. Walking instead of running and jumping, and using the flashlight, he figured most wouldn't take a close enough look in the dark to realize he wasn't dressed for a late night stroll. "Anyway I wasn't shooting for surprise I was waiting to see if you'd show up."

She rolled her eyes, uncrossing her arms as she assessed his attire. "Normal?" There was her laughter, quite possibly starting to sound just at least a little bit familiar by now as something she seemed to reserve for when her guard was down. "Do tell me when, outside of ballet or gymnastics, it's normal for a man to run around in tights? With a cape and the illusion of coat tails?"
No, she hadn't spent too much time noticing the little things about his Sailor attire.... Not at all. Abs, where? What?
Her face heated slightly as she caught herself mentally, thankful for the disappearance of the flashlight as they stood in their barely lit section of the park. "I told you I'd be here. Recent occurrences have added Destiny City Park to the rounds of my weekend patrols." Back to business. That was safe, at least.

"You mean the meteorite?" He asked, with a slight chuckle, "And Hey, have you seen what bike riders wear these days? Clearly I am just wearing the latest trend in fitness wear." He joked, winking. "Mostly I figured people just wouldn't look too closely if I wasn't doing anything too crazy. Find anything interesting in your patrols?"
He shifted the bag on his shoulder to be more comfortable, glancing around to take a more serious inventory of their surroundings. "So far it's been pretty quiet around here, but maybe things were scared off in case the Dark Knight came swooping in."

"A friend of mine and I came here looking for traces of the meteorite... Not long before that meeting." Once more Sailor Corvus rolled her eyes, this time at the mention of the Great Senshi Get-Together. She shook it off easily enough as she turned to glance back in the direction of the wooded area. "Something attacked one of the other girls that was out that night... Whatever it was, it wasn't a Negaverse agent and it was unlike any youma I've seen before."
She seemed to get a slight chill then, crossing her arms over her chest once more before letting her gaze return to the other scout. "Not... That I've seen a roaring amount of Nega-scum or youma trash..."

This unusual relevation got a raise of the eyebrows out of Eridanus, who turned his full attention back to Corvus. "What was it like? And are they alright?" Had anyone been missing from the meeting? Astrea might or might not have noted if someone had been seriously hurt. Specifically he suspected she would go out of her way to point out how much they sucked, compared to... well whatever it was in her mind that DIDN'T suck. He wasn't sure such a thing existed really. "Want to check the area again, or do you think we should try and get ahold of some others before we do something like that?"
He wasn't honestly sure how tough the thing had been, or how it might react to his attacks, or hers, but it seemed to have alarmed the other Senshi, and given how tough he'd gotten the impression Corvus could be... ((She had to be really, since she couldn't use her magical attacks until attacked herself.))... the thought that something made her shudder made it pretty serious. And the fact that she described it as not seeming like a Negaverse agent or a youma... that made it bizzare and interesting.
Shouldn't something about it have been mentioned at the meeting? Or maybe Astrea didn't know about it. If she didn't... that wouldn't be good.

"Have you ever seen Little Shop of Horrors?" Her brow lofted slightly as she watched for his reactions, wondering just how far she'd have to go into explanations. "Think Audrey II with roses instead of flytraps. I don't know what it was, but it dropped the girl when this other senshi attacked it and then it went after her... It made a mistake in attacking me once it had her, which makes me think it wasn't all that bright, just... Hungry."
That was the right word for it, wasn't it? Energy draining, power sucking... Hungry plant monster.
"The senshi was alright, and I think the girl was." She neglected to mention the presence of the Negaverse there as well, not wanting any sort of argument on what should've been done as opposed to what hadn't been. "I've been back here a few times since then and... Nothing. Not a trace, but that doesn't take it off of my radar." Her arms uncrossed once more as she turned back to the path. "I was heading in that direction when I spotted you... If you still wanted to join me?"

"Seen it? I own it; And Attack of the Trifids, and the Pod People movies, the old one and the remake..." Another one of his huge grins surfaced, before being engulphed by a more serious expression of consideration again, the situation, and perhaps Corvus, serving to anchor his behavior a little more on the side of respect and reality rather than the shining world in which it might be argued, he spent most of his time. "That sounds kind of like a Youma, but I haven't run into any exactly like that. Whatever it was, it seems like a wierd coincidence that it showed up after the meteorite." Movie logic. If things fell from the sky, and then wierd monsters appeared... blame whatever fell from the sky. ...Which wouldn't be altogether insane since they were, themselves, Soldiers for the Moon Kingdom. "Definitely. Let's have a look. We can see if there's any more and weed-whack them."

"I thought it might have been a youma at first too, but..." Her brow furrowed as she lead him along the path that she and Ume McDougal had followed into the wooded area. "Have you ever fought against a youma that's turned into anything other than dust? I haven't, and yet this thing turned into a card."
There had also been the strange girl with the creepy laugh, but that was one trump she was going to keep in her hand for the moment. At that thought, though, she groaned inwardly. It seemed as though being around Sailor Eridanus was starting to rub off on her more than just his smile. She was adapting his bad humor too. Ugh.
"I really hope there aren't any more. Too many people, innocent people, come to this park every day..."

"It turned into a CARD?" He asked, incredulously, blinking. "What the hell is this, Alice in Wonderland? No I've never seen one do that...I wonder if Astrea knows..." She'd either cough up a hairball in anger over the new twist... or do it anyway... on their shoes... for not knowing.
"I hope you're right too, but if any more have put down root it's better to find them now?" He suggested. "If nothing else it's a good night for a stroll. Cold, but still a good night."

"A card. The other senshi tried to pick it up, but..." She shook her head. "We couldn't retrieve it. The owner... I don't know who or what it was, but they just called the card back to them." The whole thing had been like a bad dream, although comparing the situation to Wonderland was at least mildly amusing... There had been plants and cards, at the very least.
The mention of Astraea made her nose scrunch in a very unflattering way, followed soon by a soft snort. "I'm not going to track down Astraea just to alert her of something that might be nothing... But if you want to, you're more than welcome to. Maybe we need a Cat Signal..." Badum-ching.
"It's funny... Until you mentioned the cold I hadn't really paid much attention to it. And considering I'm in a mini skirt and sandals? No wonder why people think we Scouts are crazy."

"Good point, though if she knew about it it would have been nice if she'd mentioned it for a change, instead of doing her usual routine." The look she'd shot Proxima had been so out of character he'd found himself wondering if she'd been slipped catnip, and he doubted any senshi in the room hadn't bristled slightly. Even he had, and he was hard to get angry. After all: after being repeatedly informed how much you sucked, what did one girl with thinly veiled hints that she wanted power have that they didn't? "Lets see what we can figure out, then we can share that around with any other senshi we run into.

Together they explored the wooded area as two children would have adventured through the woods at a summer camp; as if it was just second nature to fall into the routine alongside one another. Occasionally an odd joke was tossed into the mix and they found themselves laughing... Or groaning with a side of rolled eyes from Sailor Corvus.
In the end it was a mutual decision to head out of the woods and back onto the main path where Corvus paused to brush a bit of plant matter from her hair before glancing over her shoulder to make sure that Eridanus was still following behind her (and not about to leap out from behind a tree to startle her as he'd already done once...). She smiled as he stepped up beside her, laughing as she reached out to brush a bit of bark off of his cape. "... I'll do my best to stick to the trail a bit more next time."
