Xbalanque wandered the streets of Gaia, shirtless and barefoot as always but hugging a gift box to his chest. His Na was supposed to do this, but she was under house arrest by those weird gray things...so it was left to him to do it! It was a big responsibility in his mind, and he'd prove to his Na, that weird robed person, those stupid gray blobs, and even his little Brother that he could do it!
The Shaman boy wandered around until he found what he was looking for; a bookstore. It was where that blob told him to go, so that's where he was going to go! The feathered serpent that was fused to his skull looked around, hissing lightly at the building before curling back into Kay's hair, and with a roll of his eyes the boy pushed the door open, stepping inside.
"...Hello?" He called out uncertainly, looking for the shop keep.

The tall, hefty cat-man was reading a Stephen King novel with a half-interested look on his face. He read this book twelve times so far: It was still his favorite by far, but really, when the Wendigo starts ******** with the guy, you just had to roll your eyes at how the moron reacted.
Deet put the book down, however, when a little boy with a skull-plate entered his book store. With a raised silver brow and a warm smile on his face, he looked over the strange looking child. "Hello there, what can I do for you today?"

Kay stared up at the shop keep with one wide red eye. Whoa, big cat man person thing! "Hi!" He called out, still staring wide-eyed but not fearfully so; he thought it was awesome to see a cat giant! Wandering over, he stood in front of the counter and looked up at the man, still hugging the gift box to his bare chest.
"My name is Xbalanque but everyone calls me Kay because my name is too long and difficult." The skull-plated boy prattled on, gaining a hiss and an angry bite from the feathered serpent that resided in his hair. Nahual did not appreciate Kay's antics; he just wanted to go home! "Ow! Aaaaanyway, My Na runs the Balcombe Curiosities shop in Durem, but right now she's under forced house arrest by this weird robed person." Explaining the situation always helped, right? Right! As he talked at the man, he looked around at the shop, tilting his head and trying to take it all in. For a moment, he seemed to forget what he was here for, content with telling the man that his Mother was captured but forgetting the rest of the story.

Deet's smiled remained on his face, though now it was a bit more...Awkward. "I...See..." Deet said with a small nod to the small boy, wondering if any one ever came to his book store to buy a book! Was he just bitten by some thing in his hair...?
"So, um, can I do for you, Son?" Deet asked, trying to remain professional. He was a child, after all!

Kay didn't seem to notice the discomfort the man was suffering from. But when asked how he could help, the boy brightened and held out the gift box. "Take this? No exchanges or returns though." He seemed hopeful that the man would take it - he was destined for this item, anyway!
If Deet would take the box and open it, he would find a single red plastic party cup. No more, no less. "And ya gotta keep it safe, 'kay Mister?"

Deet raised a brow, looking at the small package the strange little boy gave him. "Um...Look, uh, kid...Sorry to pry, I'm sure you're doing this for your parents or some thing, but, um...What is it, why are you giving it to me, and who sent you?" Deet asked flatly.

The Shaman boy pouted up at the big cat man. "But I already told you who and why! The weird robed person won't let my Na go until I give this to you..." He was now leaning against the counter, staring up at the man with one wide red eye. "It's a cup, I think." But, for some strange reason, he could tell Deet that it would turn into a kid. He tried, but something stopped him.

"Oh, oh, um, of course." Deet said with a small look of confusion on his face as he nodded, "Well...I can take care of a cup, don't you worry about that Kay. So, um, now that I have this, uh, Cup you said, right, can your Ma leave now...?" Deet asked, not entirely sure if he was just confused or humoring the boy.

Kay was staring up at the man, being surprisingly serious for...who he was. The Shaman boy nodded eagerly when asked if his Ma could leave. "Yeah! You gotsa watch th'cup and take care of it." He repeated, pointing at the red plastic thing. "Aaaand now I gotta go tell that Robed thing that sh...h----...it! It's gotta let Na go! Thanks Mister!" Turning, Kay waved to the man and fled the man and his bookstore, running down the street and back towards the shop.

"Well, alright kid, have a good one." Deet said, waving a furred paw as the little skull-wearing boy left. What a strange kid. Deet picked up the red plastic cup, looking over it. Nope, not a thing about it was even remotely weird. Just a cup that was favored by BBQs and Frat Boys all across this great land. Deet smirked, putting the cup behind the counter out of the prying hands of customers. It'd be safe there, at the very least.
