What an eventful morning! Valentine, no...Va'en now, could scarcely believe that he had impressed. When all that was left was the Golden Stag Egg and the Streaked Sky Egg, he had to admit his mind had begun to drift to the matter of food. He had figured, like most, that the egg had contained a Queen, but no. It held His, Bronze Morgath. Now that there was a meal in his belly, Va'en was really letting everything sink in.
The sun was sitting high in the sky at present. Having the day off was welcome, but since he was still buzzing, Va'en didn't know what to do first. Go tell his folks, his sisters, his previous Master? While trying to come to a decision, Morgath had offered a suggestion which his rider took with gusto. How about a swim, the bronze had suggested with a definite hint of hopeful excitement. It was a grand idea! Having dressed down a bit for the water, Va'en gave a big, content sigh as they walked. They were taking the round-about way of getting there. Morgath had someone to find, and his rider was following along side.
'We'll find them. I know we will, Mine. Then swimming. Maybe we can invite them. I'd like that.'
Va'en chuckled with a shrug. "Sure. The more the merrier, why not?"

Cass had, once the hatching feast had ended, decided to go down to the kitchens one last time. Not to work, this time, oh no, this time she was there to introduce (and show off) her lovely new lifemate, Vespereth. The small blond was currently awash in a sea of kitchen workers, all cooing over herself and the adorable dragonet at her side. Needless to say, the little green was thrilled to be getting so much attention. She couldn't help but preen a little as Cass introduced her around to all of her former coworkers as they marveled over the fact that a mere kitchen worker could impress such and adorable dragon.
'So this is the kitchen, mine? I like it, it gives me a lot of attention. And treats.' Vespereth said gleefully.
'No darling, these are the kitchen workers, this room, where they prepare the human food is the kitchen.' Cass explained with a small giggle.
'Ooooh.' Vespereth said, looking around at all the people again, and sending a mental smile to hers 'Well either way, I like it! They know an adorable dragonet when they see her.'
Cass laughed, smiling at her former coworkers as they asked her questions and she worked on making her individual goodbyes to people she had liked working with the best. She wanted to leave soon though, the sun was high and bright outside and she was sure Vespereth would like to see outside the Weyr.

The pair's wanderings brought them near the kitchens as they gradually made their way to the water. Va'en was looking forward to swimming, something he hadn't done in a good while. Morgath was looking for Vespereth and Hers. The bronze was in the mood for swimming too, but he wanted to see if sweet Vespereth wanted to accompany him. Theirs could talk and have fun while they played too. The smell of the kitchens brought their searching closer.
Morgath peeked his head into the door, his eyes swirling blue. 'Vespereth, are you here? I was wondering if you and yours would like to go swimming with me and mine.' He looked around, sniffing the air. 'Oh, Va'enMine, it smells great in here.'
Va'en had moved around the big bronze dragonet to peek in on the other side of the door frame, running a hand through his hair to rake it back from his face as he looked around. "Well, these are the kitchens. All the food for everyone gets prepared here. That's why the smell is so appetizing."

Hearing the voice of her favorite clutchsib, Vespereth turned and let out a cheerful fluting call to him 'We are here, Morgath! I would like to go swimming, let me ask Mine.' turning her mental channel to Cass she said 'Cassmine, Morgath and his are here, they want us to go swimming with them. Can we?' she had a pleading look in her eye that could put a puppy to shame.
Cass laughed at her lifemate, turning to look at the door and saw that Va'en and Morgath were indeed there. She waved at them in acknowledgment, saying to Vespereth 'Of course, dear heart. It was getting cramped in here anyways, I could use some fresh air.' The weyrling said her goodbyes to the kitchen staff and moved towards the door, Vespereth on her heels. "Hello again, Va'en." she said with a cheerful grin for the older boy she had met just a few hours ago "Vespereth says you want to go swimming. We would love to accompany you."
Tail twitching happily, Vespereth butted Morgath lightly in a playful manner and then ran out the door, letting out a happy trumpet as she did so 'I'll race you, Morgath!' she called back to him.
Cass called after hers as she ran out the door "Oh, Vespereth, don't run inside, you'll run someone over!" She sighed, apparently unheard, or at least unheeded "Ah well, at least she's small so she won't cause too much damage." turning her gaze back to Va'en she gave him a helpless shrug and a smile "Lets hurry and catch them up before they get into trouble." she laughed and hurried out the door after them, lifting her skirts slightly to let her move more quickly.

Perking right up to his full height at finding dear Vespereth, Morgath flapped his wings before folding them again, his eyes swirling all shades of blue and green. 'I see you there! He looked to Va'en who was leaning on the opposite side of the door. Mine, Vespereth is asking hers if it would be okay for them to come with us now.'
Va'en couldn't help but grin at his life mate's behavior with little Vespereth. There was no favoritism going on at all. No, not with his bronze. Of course, Morgath seemed to like all girls, just some even more so. He could definitely relate. Looking back into the kitchen, he spotted Cass approaching with Vespereth on her heels. Returning her wave with a nod of his head, he took a step back from the door to give them enough room to exit the kitchens. Morgath was content to stand half blocking the door, waiting for them. The weyrling chuckled and crossed to stand beside Morgath, patting his side to at least take a step back. 'Come on, make room for the girls to get out.' He returned his attention to Cass. "Yes. Hello again." Va'en grinned and scratched the side of his neck absently. "Yeah, we were just heading down and Morgath suggested we grab company. He was keen on it be you two, so y'all are more than welcome." His grin became more of a smile when their invite was accepted. "Well, good. Glad to hear. Do you need to get anything before we go on?"
Morgath scooted back ever so slightly and swished his tail behind him when Vespereth got close enough to give a quick nuzzle. He bugled at her challenge. 'We shall see who gets there first!' With that the big bronze went jogging after her, putting just enough speed to get close enough to playfully n** at the tip of her tail but not fast enough to pass her up.
Va'en brows rose, knitting high on his forehead, as the pair of dragonets took off towards the water. He laughed and glanced to Cass. "She does have that going for her. Morgath is pretty good about being careful in crowds, but he hasn't been at full play in a big group of people." He looked back to their retreating partners. "Agreed. If they do, we can at least do some damage control." He ran along side Cass, making sure to remind Morgath to be careful.

Vespereth squeeled as Morgath nipped at her tale and picked up her pace, neatly dodging around surprised lower cavern workers. As they broke out into the open air of the Weyrbowl, she let out a fluting trumpet as she ran for the lake 'Come on, Morgath, you're not even trying!' she called back to the bronze.
"Well, don't see anyone bleeding yet." Cass remarked, bemused as they jogged down the halls at a quick pace. Apparently people were quick enough on their feet to get out of the way of two charging dragonets down here, thank goodness. She'd have to get onto Her's about running about indoors though, soon she'd be too big to do it safely. As they broke out into the afternoon sunshine, Cass was forced to stop and take a breath, her considerable chest heaving.
Looking up at her companion she gave an apologetic smile "Sorry, I don't do a lot of running." Cass panted.
'Mine, why are you so slow?' Vespereth called back to her through their link, making Cass roll her eyes.
'I'm coming, I'm coming! Not all of us have a dragons stamina, you know!'
'I'm sorry, Mine.' the green dragonet apologized meekly.
'don't worry about it dear one, we're almost there.' she said, then turned her attention back to Va'en "Ok, I'm fine now. They're getting impatient though, so we'd better hurry." she said with a laugh and set off at a jog again. Luckily, the exit they had come through was not that far from the springs.

Morgath had to be careful not to knock into anyone. He didn't want anyone to get hurt, but he wasn't going to make it too easy of a race. 'I am! I just don't want to send anyone toppling over.' He kicked up his speed a bit, taking longer strides to catch up and run along side Vespereth, giving a whoop of glee before puffing a breath at her.
Va'en gave a short laugh as they jogged after the racing pair of dragonets. "That is certainly good." He spoke between breaths. Following the youngsters was made easy by the wake that they had carved on their way through. Those around were slow to move back into the path of the joggers. Va'en blinked in the sunshine, slowing to a stop when Cass stopped to catch her breath. Having always been active, the running wasn't so strenuous. His granddad had been a Runner. When Va'en was young he told him how to last longer should he run. Remember to breathe as you run, pick your feet up when you run, don't let yourself overdo it, those sorts of things.
Flashing a bit of smile, he gave a wave of his hand as if waving her apology away. "No worries. You okay though? If you take several fast, shallow breaths before taking slower, deeper ones, I find it helps prevent getting cramps or anything, if that'd help." The weyrling looked in the direction the Bronze and the Green were running. "At least it looks like they're being cautious enough to not bowl anyone over."
'Va'enMine, you're falling behind. You're going to miss the fun if you take too long to catch up.' Morgath chimed to His, causing Va'en to give a laugh and shook his head.
'We're on our way. There will be plenty of fun to be had when we get there, just try not to get too far ahead and don't go getting yourselves in trouble. Watch out for Vespereth. Cass and I will be there shortly.'
'Don't worry, Mine. I'll keep an eye out and we'll be good.'
Va'en nodded and looked to Cass when she addressed him. "Ah, good. Heh, so I'm hearing from Morgath. Yeah, let's go." He took off after Vespereth and Morgath once more. "Last one to the water gets dunked?" He grinned over to Cass at his question.

"I'm fine." Cass said, waving off his concern as they jogged on "Bakers just don't tend to do a lot of running." she laughed, and then decided to save her breath until they got to the springs. She did follow his advice about breathing though, and soon found the pain that had been growing in her side lessening some, which was a relief.
Vespereth came to a screaching halt at the edge of the lake, claws just shy of the steaming water, looking back over her shoulder, waiting for hers and Morgath's. 'Hurry mine! I want to swim!' she called eagerly, turning her head back to the water and regarding it curiously, sniffing slightly. It was steaming, how strange! 'Why is the water hot, Morgath?' she asked, turning a bright blue eye to regard him, wondering if he knew. How did they manage to heat so much water? It must surely take a lot of fire...
Cass finally caught up to the dragonets, chest heaving a bit "I'm here I'm here!" she said, laughing breathlessly as her green turned and nuzzled her happily, tail flipping back and forth in her eagerness. "Let me get changed and I'll be right out. I can't go swimming in all these clothes!" she said, gently pushing Vespereth from her legs so she could walk to the cabana a few yards away so she could stash her things where they wouldn't get wet. "Be right back." she said with a smile.
The petite blond went into the little building and quickly stripped off her clothes and shoes, looking forward to a nice swim in the heated waters. She kept on her underthings, though, and grabbed herself one of the towels that were stored there and headed back out. Having caught her breath by this time, she put her towel down on a ledge, and then ran and jumped into the water, coming up with a gasp at the shock of how hot the water was after the cold outdoor air.
"Come on, Vespereth dear!" She called, swimming over to the shallow area until she was able to stand, brushing her dripping short blond hair back from her face, water cascading down her feminine curves as she came out of the water. Cass may have been as short as a young girl, but she certainly did not have the body of one. "Come on in, the water is wonderful." she said to the three still on the shore.
Vespereth plunged in eagerly, letting out a little bugle as she ran to join hers in the water, splashing the heated water about as she did so. 'Oooh, this feels nice, mine! Morgath, come try!' she called back to the bronze.

"Heh, I suppose that would be so." Va'en agreed with a short chuckle as they jogged.
Morgath skidded to a halt, nearly running into his sister. He side stepped and shook himself before looking over the surface of the steaming water, dipping his head down to sniff at it. 'Hm. Don't really know. It can't be heated from the air, so...Maybe from underneath?' He tuned into his. 'Va'emMine, hurry up please. I'd like to go swimming with you here.'
'I'm almost there. I can see you.' Va'en slowed to a walk when the dragonets came into view. He needed a few short, deep breaths to right himself before he looked from the young dragons to the warm water that they had stopped in front of. The bronze lifted his head to butt his forehead against His, happily swishing his tail with eyes swirling blue. The weyrling laughed and scratched his eyeridges. "Okay, okay. We're here now." He shifted his mossy gray eyes to Cass and nodded. "Okay. I'll watch these two." He had come prepared to swim. Tossing his towel in some place that he'd find it later, Va'en patted Morgath again and nudged him towards the water, glancing over as Cass jumped in. "No time like the present, Morgath. Let's go!" With that, he ran into the shallows, making sure to splash at the bronze with a big grin on his face. When deep enough, he dove beneath the surface.
Morgath blinked and snorted as he a spray of warm water washed over him. He flapped his wings and trumpeted at His. He looked to Vespereth and chirped at her. 'Okay. Here I come!' He sprang into the water with a joyous whoop at the warmth. Oh, how he loved swimming! 'Vespereth, you were right! This is so wonderful.'
Va'en broke the surface with a deep breath and a sigh, his shaggy hair clinging to his skull. He blinked and looked around. His eyes grew wide and he averted his eyes at catching a good look at Cass. "It's been far too long since I've done this. Ahh." He sighed contently, running his fingers through his hair to brush it back from his face. He gave a bit of a laugh as Morgath splashed and swam over to him.

Cass moved into the slightly deeper water that came up to her chest, laughing as Vespereth paddled after her, crooning cheerfully to herself, using her tail like a rudder.
"Me too." Cass admitted, smiling over at Va'en "Well, now we both have good excuses to come down here every day at least." she remarked laughingly as Vespereth paddled around her in little circles, wings clamped tightly to her back so as not to foul her up in the water.
'Do YOU know why the water is warm, mine?' Vespereth asked as she swam around hers, enjoying the feel of the hot water against her hide.
"Hmm, I know that the water comes from a natural hot spring down in the ground, and that that is where it is warmed...how it warms up down there is beyond me, though." Cass admitted.
'Ahhh, I see.' Vespereth said sagely, snorting air into the water and delighting in the bubbles that erupted. What would it look like under water, she wondered. The little green ducked her head under the water and stopped paddling, and found herself sinking. She kept one lid over her brightly lit blue eyes and looked around at the foggy surroundings. She could see Cass and the others legs. Perhaps she could swim under the water too...paddling with her legs and tail, she moved over to where Morgath swam and nibbled at his toes, giggling to herself.
Cass kept a close eye on her green as she sank under the water, but let her be. She didn't feel any distress coming from her, only curiosity, so she knew she was fine. Dragons, after all, could hold their breaths much longer than humans.
"They'll both turn into ship fish at this rate." Cass said laughing to Va'en as she watched the two dragonets play in the water.

Va'en nodded with a smile and a content sigh. "Yes indeed. I definitely won't complain about that." He watched how much of a good time Morgath was having, simply paddling around in the water. He could scarcely imagine how big the bronze was going to get as he grew older, but he could already tell that, if there wasn't work to be done or something to attend to, then this is where they would probably be.
Morgath paddled a wide arc close to his rider before trumpeting and swishing his tail at him, sending a wave of warm water washing over him as playful revenge for the splash when they came in. 'There. We're even mine.' He chimed with a bit of a laugh in his voice.
The weyrling laughed and shook his head to rid himself of excess water. "Nice one, Morgath."
The bronze watched his sister sink below the water with inquisitive blinking. He slowed his paddling to try and watch where she went beneath the surface. 'Vespereth...?' When he felt her nibble at his toes, he bugled and flapped his wings against the surface. He laughed and dipped his head beneath the water's surface, stopping his paddling, so he too could slip under the water, his wings folding tightly against his back. 'I'll get you!' He called to her as he swam after her.
Va'en gave a warm, hearty laugh. "No kidding. This exercise will be good for them too in the long run, I think. The resistance of the water could help them to strengthen their muscles for when they are old enough to learn to fly. Don't you think?" He could feel Morgath's curiosity of the underwater sights and his joy at playing with one of his preferred siblings. He couldn't help but smile. Every so often, Morgath's back or tail would break the surface before diving down again to chase his sister.
Morgath got a brilliant idea. He took a quick breath before swimming down below a little ways below his sister. Pushing off of the bottom and with a few strong downward strokes through the water, he came up right beneath her with her on his back. He laughed and wiggled himself as they broke the surface.

"Don't forget to breathe, you guys!" Cass called laughingly as she saw Morgath sink beneath the water surface, presumably to chase after his sister. She sank down under the water herself, and had a look around, but the hot water stung her eyes, so she quickly closed them. She briefly wished she had the extra eyelids that a dragon did so she too could see under the water. She came up for breath and then ducked down again, opened her eyes long enough to get her bearing, and then swam in the direction she had seen Va'ens legs. The mist generated as the hot water and cold air on the surface met cloaked her passage until she was right on him. Cass popped out of the water, small hands going to the man's broad shoulders and dragged him backwards into the water, laughing as she went.
"Surprise!" she shouted, laughing before they cracked back into the water.
Vespereth didn't even see morgath coming from below her, occupied as she was with watching her rider's antics, chortling to herself as Her's dragged Morgath's backwards into the water. Suddenly, though, there was a pressure under her as she was borne up into the chill air, making her flail and bugle in surprise! 'Morgath!' she cried out in surprise when she realized she was suspended across his back. 'OOoooh you!' she said, the yellow disappearing from her eyes as she turned and pounced on his head with her forelegs, forcing him back under the water before slipping back into the water. 'You scared me!' she said, splashing water at him with her wings.

Va'en couldn't help but chuckle as he watched the two dragonets just having a grand old time playing around in the water. He was so interested in watching their carrying on that he didn't notice when Cass disappeared beneath the surface of the hot water not only once but twice. The steam and wafting mist from the hot water and cool air did well to keep Cass' advance hidden from the bronzerider's notice, even if he were paying the utmost attention. "Oh!" He tensed when she sprung out of the water, managing to get in a big gasp of air before she pulled him back into the water.
He held his eyes shut for a moment in the water, before slowly opening them a bit to look around for the greenrider. A lopsided grin spread across his features as he spotted her. Va'en waggled a finger at her beneath the water before lunging out for her in hopes of taking his revenge by way of tickling her into submission. Hey, it worked when he was younger against his sisters and whatever female weyrlings he played with, which weren't that many in all honesty.
Morgath laughed at Vespereth surprised flailing and bugle. 'I wanted to see if I could surprise you!' He said with another laugh as she pounced on his head, sending him back beneath the water. The bronze paddled around to face his sibling, he nosed her under her chin. 'I hope I didn't scare you too terribly.'

Cass was caught off guard when the bronze rider lunged forward and began to tickle her mercilessly. Luckily the water there was still fairly shallow so she was able to push against the bottom and break the surface so that she could catch some air, still wiggling under Va'ens attacking fingers. "No! No! Ahahahahha!" she cried before disappearing under the surface again and doing her best to squirm out of his grasp. Luckily, she wasn't wearing much in the way of clothes, so her normally smooth skin was slick and she managed to slide out of his hands and swim like hell.
Vespereth was doing the dragon equivilent of a sulky pout until her clutch mate came and nuzzled under her chin, and she couldn't even pretend to stay upset. 'Oooh I forgive you, I guess.' she said, sounding reluctant but not really. She stuck her snout under the water surface and snorted forcefully, spraying him with water droplets. She was distracted, then when she saw both of their riders sporting in the shallower waters 'They are playing! What kind of game are they playing?' the little green asked curiously. Most dragons weren't tickilish, and so the sensations her rider were experiencing were quite strange to her.
