Shopping for a child of the greed demon was dangerous; and not the kind of dangerous where you would find a hold up happening in the local super market. It was the kind of dangerous where you knew you would be tempted to do something you shouldn't. Such was Vincent's dilema. It didn't matter that the item he was looking at wasn't worth much, and would have been of no use to him; it was the fact that it was there. He tore his eyes away from it, and glanced around. He was supposed to be shopping for groceries. He pulled the shopping list out of his pocket.

"Okay," he muttered, trying to decipher his mother's writing. It was small and cramped together, but somehow he managed it. "Popcorn..." What aisle would popcorn be in? And what in the would was anise seed? He knew his mother used it for cooking, but where would it be found? He had no natural talent when it came to shopping; not like his sisters seemed to. They always knew how to spot a bargen, always knew where to go to find certain items.

Vincent silently decided shopping was a girl thing.

It wasn't practical to send Lissy shopping, but since Moose was working and Sabra had classes, it was the only option.

She had habits. Little habits that meant big things when you lived with a gluttony child. Moose liked to shop efficently and buy alot of cheap things where as Lissy like to buy just a few expensive orangnic things. Ever since she'd read an article in a magazine at the doctor's office her brain was hardwired for nutrition labels.

Whipping out of her cellphone, she scrolled through list Moose sent via text. "Okay, first things first. I gotta have some popcorn." The preteen leaned over the cart handles and made her way towards the aisle. Ever since that night at Vinny's house it had easily become her favorite food.

The bigger tentacle reached out to smack every butt in sight while the little one sighed in it's corner.

Vincent wasn't watching where he was going. he had spotted something especially shiny. He lifted a clawed hand to take it. Her froze once he realized what he was doing. Stealing was wrong! That had been drilled into his head by both parents. "Oh right," he muttered. "Popcorn." Unfortunately his distraction led to nearly bumping into a familar preteen's cart. "Lissy!" he gasped, veering his cart to the side and almost hitting a shelf instead. It wasn't the crash that had him in such a state; it was the sight of Elisabetta. He hadn't seen her since the night she'd come to watch a movie with him.

"How are you? ...You're not pregnant, are you?" He hoped she wasn't, but then he wasn't exactly sure that what they had done caused pregnancy in the first place.

Lissy looked up from her cellphone and screamed. It wasn't how she'd imagined the meeting to go, but he'd scared her too much. She ducked her head to the side, sure that he was going to hit the shelf and peeped out the corner of her eye. Oh jeez, Oh God, oh jeez. The lust spawn checked her reflection on the phone and looked up at him.

She bit her lip as her heart fluttered. Her longer tentacle reached out for him, that familiar feeling brushing up on her from just looking at him. Thank God she had a bandaid over her forehead.

"Hello to you too," she frowned, holding her head high. So much for romance. Of course he would be concerned about babies after that. What was she hoping for, anyway...? That maybe he missed her? Pfft. "No, I'm not pregnant. Good day." She reached passed him and tossed the first box of popcorn her hands could grab onto in the cart before pushing off.

Vincent frowned. He hadn't meant it like that; but clearly his words had come off as indifferent towards her. He caught up to her, almost forgetting entirely about why he was there in the first place. "Hey, Lissy," he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I was worried, is all. I didn't think we could raise a baby... we're still kids. You ran and I didn't know what to do." In all honesty, he had panicked.

"...I was scared you wouldn't want to see me again after... See... I really, really..." he was having trouble speaking now; a difficulty he was rarely faced with. A blush crept to his cheeks. "...You know how I asked you to go on that date? To make Sammi and Reiya happy? I lied. It wouldn't be for them--it'd make me happy too..." Ugh. He couldn't stop now.

"See Lissy... I've loved you all this time."

Her longer tentacle shot out to grab his shirt, waiting for the order. Elisabetta lowered her head. She was still a little miffed, but he had a point. What would she have done if she had been pregnant? "You can't have a baby from one time." She pouted.

The more the teenager talked, the faster her heart began to beat. It was like the whole grocery store was evaporating, even the elderly woman peeping around the corner. Lissy spun around, her back against the cart railing, her arms wrapped around it from behind. Her eyes were wide. "Wha...what did you say?" A shaky break snaked between her fangs. "I...I...Oh my God! You really love me? I ran away because I thought you hated me and when you didn't call I.....I got scared. Then I...did some...things." She averted her eyes to the floor.

"I didn't know that..." Vincent confessed. He hadn't. He hadn't even been sure of what they had done. He had worried; he hadn't wanted his parents to find out, and surely if Lissy had come with a baby, they would have realized... Surely he would have gotten in trouble. His mother

"Really I do," he said. "I have, for a long time. I kept it quiet because... well..." Ugh. This struggling to talk to someone who had always been easy to talk to was getting on his nerves. "I didn't think you'd like me back. I didn't expect--you know--to happen. Ever," he shook his head. "It surprised me. I didn't know what to do--I didn't call because I thought you'd hang up on me."

He looked down at his feet. "I'll make sure to call you next time though."

"Thats stupid. You should have just told me." She ran a hand through her hair as she bounced from foot to foot. "I mean, what was I gonna say? ....No?"

The preteen rolled her eyes up to look at the harsh flourescent lighting. If she looked at him, she would start stuttering and loose her focus. "I like you too and I was so scared...." Lissy tugged on her hair, chewing on her bottom lip, a sure sign of stress. "I like you, so if you promise to call....I guess it's okay."

"I know it's stupid," Vincent said with a nod. His mother told this to him daily; he should have had it memorized by now. "I know I should have asked before--but I thought you'd say no... I was really afraid that you'd reject me." He leaned forward and did something even he didn't expect. He kissed her on the cheek.

"I'll call," he promised. "I'll call every day. As often as you like." He would, too. Knowing she liked him--though he still somewhat doubted that she did--had lifted a weight he hadn't known he'd been carrying from his chest. "Do you want to shop together?" he asked.

She blushed, gasping in shock when he kissed her cheek. Lissy's gaze snapped downward, her mouth at first a little 'o' that quickly turned into a content smile. "You better call. I'll be really made if you don't." She stuck her tongue out at him, cocking her hip to the side. "Sure - but let's use your buggy. Mine has a squeeky wheel." The preteen turned around, leaning over the cart handlebar to grab her popcorn and tossed it in his cart.

It felt nice to be able to talk to him again. Her brain was so hard wired that Vincent hated her to really get over the shock that he didn't. She walked to his side, her tentacle still playing with his shirt, and grabbed his hand. "So....are you my boyfriend now?"

Vincent nodded in agreement, and gave her a smile. "Of course I'll call. Unless Sammi and Reiya get to it first. They might, you know. With one of their schemes to set us up--not that I mind!" he added quickly. His twin sisters' schemes were more amusing now than they ever had been, now that he knew Lissy liked him too.

He couldn't help thinking as he watched her, that she was cute when she blushed. He was slightly surprised when she took his hand. He looked at her, and gave a shy smile. "Boyfriend, huh? I like the sound of that," he said. "I think I would like to be your boyfriend." That made her his girlfriend, and that was all that mattered, right?

"I'm surprised they haven't tapped into the phone lines." She added with a giggle. They might be her best friends, but sometimes she wondered about them.

Elisabetta caught Vincent's surprise and realized that she might be dating the most humble guy she'd ever met. Of course, given his DNA, it wasn't surprising. "Good. So that means all of my shopping is on you, since thats what boyfriends do." She smiled devilishly. Oh yes, dating was definately a good thing. "What are you shopping for? I've only got a little list. " Flipping through her text messages, she held the one with the list up for him to see.

Vincent groaned. "They probably have," he said. "Knowing them, they're probably watching us with spy cameras or whatever." He paused, and frowned slightly. Being greed, he wasn't very good at paying for other people. Even if she was his girlfriend. He looked at the list, before looking at her. How could he resist?

"I guess I could... pay. Just this once," he added. He was determined not to make a habit of this. "I've got a bunch of cooking stuff," he showed her his list. "I think mom wants to make cookies or something." He shrugged. "Where to first?"

"Oooh, nice. I think I know where all of this stuff is," She said, looking down at his list before slipping around infront of the cart. Her longer tentacle slid along the side before looping onto the front, as did her hand. Finally Lissy hopped inside, barely avoiding the popcorn box as she scrunched down on her haunches. "Pick a side and start there first. We'll do a sweep of the perimeter! No aisle goes unchecked."

She looked back at her boyfriend with the gleam still in her eyes. "Understood, First Mate?"

Whatever Vincent had expected, it hadn't been for Lissy to climb into the cart. "Don't you think--well. The cart'll be kind of heavy," he amended. One of his mother's rules was to never, ever, comment on a girl's weight. He thought this was rather wise; girls seemed to be sensative on certain subjects for unknown reasons. Like whether a outfit made them look bad or not; you could never say it did. Or someone like Vinny would end up with a black eye. His sisters had demonstrated this.

He sighed. It looked like he'd be doing all the work (and all the buying, to his displeasure) in this relationship. "Understood," he pushed the cart forward a ways. "Where to?"
