Paokoli, it was everything to be expected. Aella darted through the streets and found an alley way to hide in for a moment. She'd come here on a rumor of a rare book she'd been searching for but like most rumors it had been untrue. The rare book had only been a copy and badly translated in some spots. Aella had bought it anyway, no sense in making the trip a total waste, but she was still disappointed.
She sighed and flipped open the cover again rereading the opening passage. She frowned then closed it and peeked out again. Even though a lot of the people still on the streets where afraid of her, she felt nervous being around so many of the living. She wished she'd manged to bring someone with her...

Romeo had come here in search of adventure and something to expande his powers as an archdevil. He had come because he heard this place had pirets, but instead all he found were druken saliors. they weren't afriad of him, but they seemed almost to... like him. His mind shuttered at the thought. He walked casually down the street in broad daylight tail, swishing behind him. Life after death was almost boring. He casually paused and glanced around, standing just outside an alley. Something fluttery caught his eye, a fight maybe? He turned to the alley just in time to meet with a very pink face.

Aella gulped and squeaked her wings flicking her back from the very blue eyes suddenly staring into hers and dropping her book. "Hi..." she said very slowly as she realized that she was looking at another Ghostling and not a human.
"Come here often?" she asked reaching for something to say. It was then she realized she'd dropped the book and quickly bent down and picked it up. "Oh no...its got water all over it..." she said becoming absorbed in the condition of her book.

'It was just a charm dragon.' he thought to himself. 'no fight.' He frowned at her, thinking it was rediculous that she was trying to salvage a dirty looking book like that. "It's just an old book, You should porably throw that away." He didn't even think about the consiquenses of his words, he said them before he as they came to him. 'she's pink. what a strange color for a ghostling.' most ghostlings he had met so far tened to be even odder colors then that, sprirals and patterns of all kind. Few had the human like eligence he had.

Aella froze in mid flip in an effort to save the pages and keep them from sticking together. "Just a book?" she looked up again her voice hardening. "Just. A. Book!?" she stood up her entire body trembling in anger, her wings stretched out stiff.
"I'll have you know this book is priceless!" she then bit her lip and let her wings droop. "Or would be if it was the original..." she glanced off to the side and hugged the book to her. "But this is still valuable!" she said. "It has...valuable knowledge in it..." she trailed off and glanced up at him.
She wished she had more experience in dealing with others. She had no idea what to do now. She did however marvel that he was flesh toned like herself. From what she understood it wasn't that common.
She flicked her wings slightly and let her bangs fall in front of her face. "I'm...I'm sorry I yelled...my name..is Aella." she said suddenly shy.

Romeo was a little shocked. She yelled at him. this tiny little thing yelled at him over a book. Priceless she called it. Priceless knowlage. He frowned to himself looking her over, her wings that were as pink as she, and her shock of blue hair. but then maybe not pricelss, still... "What kind of knowlage?" he bearly reconized she told him her name, and proply forgot it and her appoligies. His instress was entirely on what made that book so special. a human walked behind and partially through him, shivering and then walking faster but he ignored it, to intent on the book to care that another human failed to reconize his power and walk around him.

"Its um...a history." she said. "A very old very rare history book." she said caressing the spin lovingly. She glanced up at him and shivered as the human passed through him. If there was anything she tried to avoid it was having anyone or anything pass through her body. It just made her uncomfortable.
"Doesn't that bother you?" she asked softly.

A history of what?" it sounded boring. He must be waisting his time. He frowned to himself, looking at the wall. He didn't relieze what she had asked, nor what it was refering to so he ignored the second remark. the wall wasn't even intresting, it was grey with out a hint of blood spatter. just dirty and perhaps a little moldy around the corners.

Aella brushed her hair out of her eyes. "Just the world. You know...things that happened before. Um...it was supposed have been written by..well no one really knows." She added quietly watching him. She wondered what he was looking at on the wall. It seemed unimpressive to her. Just a normal wall.
Her tail flicked the bell on the end chiming softly. "Was there...something I could help you with? Maybe help you find something?" she asked. "I don't want to keep you..." she glanced up at him slightly admiring his form. She had to admit that even if he was being rude to her, he was handsome. She blushed softly then squeaked as she realized she was and fixed her eyes on the dirty puddle at her feet.

"If no one knows who wrote it, how do you know it isn't just a bunch of lies? it's not exaclty importaint if it's not useful." He shruged, and looked at her agin, looking at her look down. It took him a moment to relize, she was flustered with him. She liked him. He smiled to himself, perhaps he could use this some how, besides she was kinda cute. "I was just exploring the area, I haven't found anything intresting yet."

Aella ruffled up her wings in irritation. "How...how..." she relaxed and let her wings settle. "Well...its important because we have so few written records of our world...its important to know everything or as much of everything as we can find out. Helps us learn about our world and...ourselves." she said.
She looked off to the side and nodded. "This area is supposed to have lots of uh...interesting features." she said.

"It's suposed to have pirets and I haven't seen one." he frowns. "I wanted to go on a piret ship and see what it's all about, but there is only a bunch of drunk salors around." he voice took on some harsher tones and his tail swished behind him in agitation. He glares at the ground, as if it was the eath's fault for his inablity to find the pirets.

"Pirates?" Aella blinked. "Well..what do you expect they do when they're on shore leave?" she asked. "I would expect, at least from what I've read they uh...get drunk and um...mess around with...whores?" she squeaked at the word and hid behind her book again.
"I would think that if you wanted to find pirates, you'd have to go down to the docks..." she said pointing down towards the docks. "Why do you want to find them anyway?" she asked. "They're supposed to be rude, and crude, and...uh..." she trailed off feeling silly considering his treatment of her so far.

"I want to learn some of their fighting skill. Look at their boats. See what kinds of things they have on board. It's better then reading it in a book." He glances at her book. "But I supose you might have a point. They could be just drunk or sleeping with the women. I supose that's not strange considering they are out on the ocean with only eachother for so long. Bad luck to bring a women on a ship."

Aella pouted and looked hurt. "That's just a myth." she said. "There can be female pirates." she shuffled and curled her tail around her feet. "I think that's just a silly stereotype..." she said biting her lip.
"Why are you so interested in their fighting skills?" she asked. "Are you a combat specialist?"
