Deskri stumbled along the maze walls, keeping one hand out to ghost along the leaves as if they could actually support his weight if he fell. He was supposed to be watching Hayden, but the kid's demands combined with Kagyaku's constant chattering had worn his nerves thin. He wasn't sure where his new little brother had gotten off too, and he wasn't entirely sure that he cared that much about it, either.
So we're here again, hm? You could have run off with your bell-obsessed older brother, but you stayed here. Are you a coward? Were you hoping there'd be something more here? The demon inside whispered taunting words in his mind, causing his footfalls to stop temporarily.
"I didn't go because it's not safe out there." He replied quietly, as if that would do anything. The demon in him would take the phrase the wrong way. And he did.
So you ARE a coward! How useless! You should just let me take control, you're just wasting away here.
"It's not safe because of YOU!" Deskri shouted, it was rare that he raised his voice, but since he was alone (he hoped, screaming out at random would be awkward if there were someone else around...) he didn't particularly care to control himself.
Because of me? You seem to be doing a fairly good job of keeping me in place. Or are you weakening? Can I pick at this shell of yours more? Can I break it down? I think I can. It'll be ever so much fun once I do, too.
"J-just shut up okay? Shut up." He slid down to the grassy floor, and then leaned back against one of the hedge walls. His last growth spurt had made him lanky, but he wasn't all that tall. Instead he just had thin limbs which looked like they belonged to a tall person. His skin was paler, the dark circles around his eyes were darker (but mostly from lack of sleep these days) he'd acquired an array of piercings, mostly on Kagyaku's recommendation (demand). His hair was getting lighter, but it was still a dark purple with roots which looked almost black. His eyes were the same, piercing gold, but they held a look of barely controlled chaos most of the time.

Back at the grounds of the school again. It was like she couldn't keep away. She had been trying to get accustomed to living here again, to be part of this place again, and she was honestly starting to worry about Deskri.
During the school's temporary closing, she and the illusion boy had bonded immensely, sadly over their horrid nightmares that continuously popped up in their sleeping cycles. Sonnet would have the dark circles under her eyes, but she usually kept them covered with foundation now, seeing as Deskri usually worried over her when they were visible.
She had been surveying the grounds from the air when she caught sight of him, and in seeing his hunched body against one of the hedges she was certain that Kagy was being more annoying than usual, so she softly landed nearby. She then stood and waited, waiting to be noticed, because she learned the hard way that it was ill will to startle Deskri especially when his inner 'friend' was particularly chatty.

Oh look, your fine-feathered friend is here. Lets play with her, hm? I wonder if we can get her to add more piercings to that perfect skin of hers. The voice cackled as it spoke. Since Deskri hadn't noticed Sonnet himself, he figured that the demon inside didn't need his eyes to see the world around him after all. Deskri found that quite disturbing...
"No, you leave her alone. She didn't do anything to deserve that." Deskri remained in his spot, eyes down on the ground as he muttered the words to himself. He rubbed at his head, successfully making his already messy hair messier. It didn't particularly help when he rubbed his head, but it gave the illusion of feeling better when he did.
I say she'd be a hell of a lot sexier with more piercings.. Perhaps on his lips, oh and lets not forget the navel... And other---
"SHUT UP! Stop talking about her like that!!" Deskri curled forward into a tighter ball, the grip on his head tightened as he shouted louder than before. "S-Sonnet you shouldn't be here... He's so close..." He looked up from his spot on the ground, eyes pleading for her to escape. He was so close to losing his fragile hold on himself, and he definitely didn't want Sonnet to get hurt because of it. She was his only friend that he'd been able to maintain contact with after all.

Sonnet did not move from her spot. She did not get closer, but she did not move away either. She knew if things got bad that she could get away before much harm was done to her. She had learned from experience. Her wings shifted from their natural size to small versions, to make them less of a target. She just stood there, frightened, though not for herself. She feared for Deskri, the only one she could talk to and know that he would understand the torment she went through every time she slipped into her dream world.
"I'm more then able to handle myself if he gets rowdy again," she said reassuringly, her tiny wings trembling ever so slightly. Was she standing near a shadow? No, none that would give him an advantage anyway. Good.

"I can't... what if he wins?" Deskri cast his gaze toward the ground again, form shaking a little from the inner turmoil of keeping himself in control of his body.
LET ME TAKE OVER! Kagyaku's voice boomed in his head loudly, causing him to cry out a little.
"Stopitstopitstopit!" He pulled his legs in and started to rock forward and backward, hoping that the motion would help keep his control over his body.
What's so special about her, huh? She's a GIRL. An ANGEL at that! You don't even LIKE girls... Or is she special?
Deskri didn't bother responding, Kagyaku knew full well that Sonnet was his best friend, so of course she was special. He didn't care that she was an angel and he was a demon, and she didn't seem to care either.
I'll play with the brat later then. You can have your control for now. Just know that when you get attached to things they'll only cause you more pain, Deskri. I'll be sure to make that come true. I do so love to see you in pain, after all.
It was often that Kagyaku would grow tired of trying to fight for control, which made Deskri worried that perhaps he hadn't even been trying in the first place. What would it be like if the demon really did try? Would he win or lose? Judging from his current state, he would lose, hands down. He stopped rocking and took a deep, shaky breath. "H-he's done..." He rubbed at his eyes, successfully smearing what ever eyeliner he had on. "ugh... stupid contacts..." He winced a little as he rubbed one out of place momentarily.

Sonnet gave a sigh of relief before smiling gently as she moved closer to her friend, dipping down and pulling him into a light hug. Kagy just may kill her one day, but she wasn't going to just run away every time he was there. No. She'd lost so much. He was her only friend now, and her best friend at that. She'd always be there, to her last breath. Perhaps one day it would be her loyalty that would be her downfall, but now wasn't the time to think on that.
"You need a mirror? she asked in response to the contact complaint. "I've got a small one in my pocket."

"Y-yes please..." Deskri looked up at her with a small, forced smile. "I'm sorry about that.... He was extra chatty today, and then Asu adopted this kid named Hayden that I was supposed to watch but HE kept on chatting too.. I have no idea where he is now, but..." Deskri trailed off, figuring Sonnet would get the idea of what could have happened if Deskri hadn't abandoned his new little brother.

Sonnet gave Deskri another quick hug before she reached into her jeans pocket and pulled out her compact. One side was her foundation, the stuff to make her circles around her eyes seem less noticeable, but the top part was a mirror. She removed the applicator sponge so it wouldn't fall onto the grass and then held it out to Deskri.
"You need me to hold it?" she asked. She knew some people needed both hands to put in contacts, and she wasn't 100% sure if Deskri was one of them. She then smiled lightly and nodded her head.
"I understand Deskri. You don't need to explain it to me. I'm pretty experienced with this now after all," she reassured him. "I'm sure your little brother is fine. We can go looking for him later if you want now that he's gone for now, but perhaps right now it'd be safer if I was with you to watch him. You know, just in case..."

"Please..." He nodded a little and then pried the effected eye open with one hand while the other sought out the misplaced contact. He could have done it with one hand, but this way was less disturbing and a hell of a lot easier.
"I hope so... otherwise Asu'll have my head... He's just a toddler right now..." Deskri sighed, finally managing to slip the contact back into place. He hadn't been too careful about it, so his eye looked a little irritated but he hadn't complained. Pain never seemed to bother him at all.
"That's a good idea... You'd probably be better with little kids than I am. He just kept talking and talking, demanding this and that... ugh.." Deskri shook his head, this time the smile that came to his face was genuine.

Sonnet smiled and replaced the applicator before closing the compact and pocketing it back in her jeans. She then carefully sat down next to Deskri with a small sigh.
"Young children are like that," she said with a nod before looking up at the sky for a moment, pondering.
"It's been so long since the school was open..." she mused rather weakly, still unsure if she was truly happy that it had been opened or not. There were good memories, but she highly doubted many of those same people would return, and she realized just how alone she was in ways. She even had a dorm to herself, a list that had been checked out of curiosity when she first arrived.
"Have you checked the dorm assignment listings yet?" she queried, looking at Deskri with a small tilt of the head.

"Yeah... I don't think anyone else is here... At least, all I've seen are a bunch of little kids running around with their parents... It's a hell of a lot more involved than it ever was before..." Deskri sighed and shook his head a little. "No, I haven't yet... It'll be weird not freeloading in Inosnorise's dorm." He grinned a little. He had fought with his older brother often, but he had never truly hated him. "Who're you dorming with?"

Sonnet gave a weak smile, laughing a somewhat sad laugh to herself.
"No one, I have one to myself right now, which will probably be better seeing as I often wake up screaming..." she said, stifling a yawn that seemed to pop up right on cue. She resisted to rub her eyes as to not remove the makeup around them.
"I looked up who you were rooming with. Apparently Rasiel is back," she said with a nod, knowing that Deskri should be at least somewhat pleased with that outcome.

"Oh.. then I guess that is good?" Deskri frowned softly. He scooted himself a little closer to Sonnet so that he could lie his head on her shoulder. "I'm sorry I can't help with those..." He sighed and closed his eyes.
"Rasiel?" He sat up again, a look of surprise on his face. "He's really back? Like, for real? Oh my god..." Deskri went through a series of emotions and facial expressions from denial, happiness and then serious consideration. If Rasiel was back, that meant that his inner demon was most likely back as well. Deskri wasn't sure he wanted to get too close to Rasiel if that were the case, because if Kagyaku was able to connect with Rasiel's demon, he definitely wouldn't be able to maintain his self control.

Sonnet watched the different emotions pass over Deskri's face. She sighed a bit, before looking to the sky again.
"Didn't you say that he had something similar happening with a bad thing?" she queried. "I wonder if two people with such powerful inner demons inside of them should room together. I know he was a good friend of yours, but would it be safe in the long run?"
