Asu had heard that there would be classes available for the children that were old enough to attend, and so she'd taken the opportunity to drag Hayden along with her to go check out the information right away. Unfortunately, finding that information was harder than it sounded.
"Hayden, do me a favor and look over there, okay?" Asu pointed to the opposite side of the hall to a cork board of papers. She then turned to a similar board on her side of the hall.
"Do I have to take classes? Deskri didn't have to take classes." Hayden grumbled unhappily but shuffled over to the cork board and stared at it for any sign of class information.
"No, he didn't, but..." Asu paused, giggling a bit, "you see how he turned out, right? The classes will teach you responsibility, and how to control your powers, and other necessary things to survive in this world." Asu's eyes scanned over the board as she spoke.
"So if I go to school I won't end up like an overgrown kid who won't ever be able to function outside of this campus? Great." Hayden rolled his eyes and continued to look.

Freya looked around the entrance hall with wonder in her eyes. She didn't quite get to see it before, but now that she did, it was amazing. She looked back to Walter who had noticed someone else as he walked into the hall. She scurried quickly behind him and looked around him, acting as casual as she could.
"Oh, Asu, I didn't know you'd be too," Walter announced as he started to walk towards her. "I don't suppose you don't have any information on classes, do you? We need to get my sweetheart signed up."
"Daaad!" Freya interjected in an embarrassed whimper, blushing. She looked over to Hayden, hoping he hadn't heard Walter.
Walter looked down to her, oblivious to her discomfort as he looked back at some of the postings. "You'd think they'd make this easier..."

"Oh, hello Walter." Asu turned and flashed a smile. "I'm afraid not that's what I'm searching for, actually." She sighed and shook her head. "I know, they really should make it easier for parents to find this stuff. The notice didn't give nearly enough information on them, or when they'll be available." Asu glanced over to Hayden, wondering if he had noticed Freya and Walter's arrival yet. The boy seemed preoccupied with searching the cork board though.
Hayden glanced over his shoulder, mostly because he was worried that his mother had gone insane. He'd been zoned out listening to music and hadn't heard Walter, but the song had changed right as Asu started speaking.
A grin came to his face when he spotted Freya. He hadn't seen her in ages! "Hey Freya." He waved a bit, and then decided to abandon he post at the cork board in favor of walking over to where she was. "How're you?" He raised one eyebrow curiously while unconsciously adopting a bit of a confident smirk.

"OHMIGAWD HAYDEN!" Freya ran up to the boy, almost leaving her words behind her as she quickly met up to him. "I haven't seen you in forever! You grew taller!" She instantly perked up at the sight of her friend. "What have you been up to?" she asked, mimicking her father's greeting.
Walter smiled as he looked over to Freya. Well, he couldn't use that line to start conversation with Asu now. At any cost, it'd probably better to figure out the classes first. "You know, they might have an office around here. If no one's there, they'd at least have to have something printed out there that we could look at. Or some number to call."

Hayden froze up for a second, mildly alarmed at the greeting he was met with, but kept walking anyway. "You got taller too, and prettier." The smirk seemed to grow bigger and perhaps more than just confident. "Nothing really... Messin' around for the most part. Where have you been? You like, disappeared off the planet." Hayden let out a bit of a laugh at the idea. But really, if Asu had let him know that they had Walter's phone number he probably would have harassed the guy for a playdate.
"True, they should have an office with some phone numbers at least." Asu nodded and glanced down the hall to see if there was any sign of a door. "The lighting in here is terrible, I can't see anything down there... We'll probably have to search for it." She sighed, and shook her head again. "How've you been, by the way?"

Walter began walking, leading the two. He began his conversation while walking, a feat he had become well practiced in. "Well, we've been busy. I had to do a little bit of traveling for a show or two, so of course Freya was coming with me. We came back in town a couple of weeks ago, but it's just been so exhausting getting back in to work and everything. Oh, you better stop me before I chat your ear off, what about you?"
Freya giggled a bit at Hayden's comment. It wasn't that funny, but she was just so giddy. She looked away shyly for a second at being called pretty. "I went with my dad on his business trips. I got to see a lot of fun places, but I really missed it here," she said as she looked at Hayden during the last part of her statement. She looked up and noticed her father leading Asu down the hall and turned back to Hayden. "Oh, they're leaving!"

"Oh that sounds like fun. I don't get to travel much, you know." Asu nodded, laughing a little. "Not much, my oldest son came to visit us awhile back to make up for Mother's day... I'd say Hayden's growth was the most eventful thing we've done so far." Asu shrugged a little. She never really heard about most of the stuff that happened around the school, since Deskri wasn't too close with her and Hayden never got wrapped up in it. "All in all I'd say life at the academy as been pretty tame." Oh, if only she knew how wrong that statement was.
"Aw, really? My mom and I stayed here the whole time, but I got to meet my oldest brother. He's pretty cool." Hayden shrugged a little. The idea of venturing off campus to places he'd never heard of sounded like a lot of fun, but also like a lot of trouble... but trouble never stopped him before. "Eh, it's fine. We're on campus, they can't lose us forever you know." Hayden adopted a bit of a smirk again. "I bet that as soon as they find the information they're looking for they'll make us come along and listen to some boring talk about how awesome these classes are supposed to be, but if you ask me, all we need to know is what classes are offered and that's it. No talk, no standing around waiting for someone to come see us.. I say we ditch this mission in favor of something more exciting." Hayden paused, glancing down the opposite side of the hall where he saw a sign.
A sign that lead to the cafeteria. "I bet they have ice cream in the cafeteria, wanna check it out?" He turned back to Freya with a mischievous expression and offered her his hand.

Freya looked at his hand and then back to her father. He already engaged Asu in whatever conversation they were in. She took a moment to think, but decided to trust Hayden. "Yeah," she nodded. "That stuff does seem pretty boring, I guess." She placed her hand on top of the boy's own hand, a small blush running over her as she looked away slightly.

"Awesome." Hayden grinned and then led her over to the Cafeteria, where he pushed the door open. "I haven't been in here before, I wonder where they'd keep the ice cream..." Hayden scanned the room with his eyes as he walked around, searching for any indication of a freezer or something.
"They'll prolly be talking forever, so I bet we can explore the rest of this place. I've never been in the main building, 'cept that one time in the nurses office." He laughed a bit, shaking his head. "D'you remember that?" He looked back to Freya curiously.
