This is the discussion thread for the official Roleplay-Sims3 crossover! The crossover chronicles the lives of our roleplay characters simselves' life in Riverview, a beautiful rural town in the Sims3 world.
In this thread, which used to contain the chapters, but not anymore, you can find information on the series and its making and links to the chapters and any extra content. This is all, of course, on top of the thread's primary function - discussion! Talk about the series, the Sims games or anything else bumping around in your noggin!~~~~~~~~~

History and Character Submission!
~~~~~~~~~
So I was thinkin', and I thought "Y'know what would be cool? If I made a thread inviting everyone to choose Sims3 traits for their characters."
And so I decided to make it. 8D
In my infinite inability to forecast the future I thought this would be just a fun thread where people could post their traits. But oh no, I had to go and turn it into a full-scale project! The crossover will be updated sporadically with new chapters which chronicle in epic fashion the lives of little simmie versions of ATE rp characters. Woot!
In case you don't know (HEATHENS IN OUR MIDST??!!), characters' personalities in the Sims 3 are made by combining up to five Traits. A full list of Traits can be found here!
There are 63 traits to choose from and some clash, so pay attention! For example, you can't be brave AND a coward. So yeah. Everyone have fun! o3o
You may not be able to recreate them perfectly, but just try your best! If you post your traits here your character may even end up turning up in the crossover - if not as part of the main household, as a neighbour!
~~~~~~~~~Previous Chapter Rundowns For Current Readers: (New readers please read the chapters in full - these are just for cross-reference!)
Chapter 1: Cressa, Jessie and Coline move into a house that turns out to have only one bedroom for the three of them. This chapter focuses on them settling in, Cressa wreaking havoc in the neighbourhood and the chemistry between Jessie and Coline.
Chapter 2: The chapter opens with a showcase of the characters' new outfits, and moves on to a discussion mainly of their work choices and skill building. Boring? I think not! This crossover is NEVER dull, muahaha!
Chapter 3: In this chapter we meet Mrs Cow, observe Jessie's slave-tendencies around the NEW house, find out where the drow have been sleeping all this time, and observe an experiment provoked by Coline's incredible stubbornness. Lorika appears!
Chapter 4: Cressa and Lorika have formed a very solid "friendship." Stuff happens, and Coline finally goes for what she really desires. The other women aren't happy - are they plotting revenge, or something else...?
Chapter 5: A development has occurred in a relationship at the end of the last chapter. Cressa and Lorika go out on the town and meet Feline! Jessie is still the household slave.
Chapter 6: Ye gods, it can't be so! Cressa in charge of the world?! Not if Fel and Rika, super star hero team, have anything to say about it! Sexy firefighters and not-so-sexy discussion of a**l prolapses in this installation of the crossover. Mrs Cow has an NVQ in psychiatry, dontchaknow.
Chapter 7: The other women have agreed to help Coline, but at what cost? Are they being sincere? It turns out they aren't... but the chapter ends on a shocking note.
Chapter 8: This short chapter deals with the aftermath of the last chapter. Dun dun da dun, dun dun da dun...

Q-Ampersand-A When did you start playing The Sims franchise?
Oh jeeze >3>; Whenever I first got a computer. Mustve been... 9?
Wtf! The clothes and hair you use aren't in my game!
I use a lot of CC. A LOT of cc >3>;
Do you have any expansions?
No, as of yet I don't. I'm just using the base game and downloads.
Hey... there's something weird about the way your characters look... how did you change their breast size and stuff?!
That would be another download: Jonha's bodyslider hack from ModTheSims. I love using it because it means I can give all of my characters their individual builds - for example, tweaking Jessie to give him his slight frame whilst still remaining muscular, giving Cressa wider hips and a larger behind whilst remaining lithe (and of course her giant hooters). I stress that everyone be careful when downloading this kind of thing because it can potentially do weird things to your game, especially if you combine it with other hacks that do the same thing or try them untested, or when you install expansions and patches...
I suggest keeping a record folder with dated folders inside it where you extract your download zips before COPYING them into the .package folder of the program files.
So are you planning things, or...?
Nope, I'm honestly making things up as I go along. Sometimes I'll snap a picture and it'll spawn a scene in my head, which I'll write and then take pictures for. Other than that I don't do any planning, just weaving things together as I go XD
It might seem like I must be interfering immensely because of the parallels to reality, but no - that's REALLY how they act. Srsly. Certain scenes, such as Coline's fainting, however, ARE staged. I'm too attentive to let my sims pass out 8D
Do you use cheats?
I used two lots of motherlode to get them their house, and if I need them to last and behave for a shoot I'll put their needs static for a time. Oh, and moveobjects, of course, is indispensible!
How do you get your shots lined up like you do?
For the staged shots I have the sims involved interact with other sims out of shot, and then move them into position. It's incredibly simple. XD; I haven't got any nifty camera tricks aside from the ones built into the game. It's a case of pausing in the right place, getting lucky and taking as many shots from as many angles as you can. I think I'm actually improving as I take more and more photos...
How many do you take per installment?
I actually take around 150-200, which is reduced to ~50 that I upload to Photobucket.
THAT'S A LOT o___o
It is, and I keep every single one on file in case I need them for the future XD Sometimes a shot that doesn't get used where I intend it ends up somewhere else!
How often do you change your character's outfits?
For this? Quite often, actually. They each have their Outfit slots completely maxed, and I'll occassionally replace the easiest-to-replicate outfit with an incidental one. Cressa's hairstyle also changes often, alternating between ~4 different styles.
Have you ever uploaded to the exchange?
No, never. I've planned and made stories in the past, but never uploaded them. It saddens me that the Sims3 creative community seems so slow right now, compared to TS2...
Have you tried making videos/machinimas?
NO! Looool, I have no video editing software, and it's enough of a nightmare painstakingly setting up a still shot XD I'm a HUGE fan, however, of Jaydee's Sims2 music videos. I wish I were that talented... ;3; I loved Amandaskeefer's videos, too. They were so touching!
I had a lot of Sims2 creative community idols, but they all faded into obscurity. At the end of the day this kind of thing is just too time consuming to do one a regular basis while juggling the rest of your life. Nowadays you have to sift through twelve billion bloody Legacy tales to find your favourites...
What were some of your favourite works from the TS2 creative community?
Oh jeeze. I enjoy, in no particular order: The Gravity of Being Green; Confessions of an Obsessed Fan/How to Marry a Superstar and Fairytale (incidentally I also loved itsumee's adaptation of pre-summer Peach Girl, though she took it down with the advent of Confessions ;3; ) ; Nightingale; ALL of Rageinthemachine's tales, but especially Dominion, Stardust and Superbelle; pointepiccolo's stories; NSKNIGHT200! A true genius, author of such wonderful tales as Daddy Camp, Angie Baby, Christmas Angel and her series The Rich Man's Daughter; RYLEERIDER!! Another genius- read ALL of her work, a particular favourite of mine is the standalone Love Hollow; The Kiss of a Vampire (YES, LMFAO, a vampire tale on my favourites list! S'just a testament to the great writer... honestly, the story gets harder to read as you go on... VERY tragic... ;___ wink ; FARandBEN's Mortimer trilogy; Wild Nights/Wild Summer...
And many other beautiful tales that I'll never get to name, lost to the mists of time and memory. Note that none of these are those awful Legacy challenges the exchange got so clogged up with. Blech. Pinstar must die for the plague he unleashed on the creative community! ;3;
From TS1... I still read Goodhumor's works from time to time, ROFL! Though unfortunately the Gingerbread tale seems to have been taken down... Ooh, and another favourite? The Last Temptation of Moody Moondoogle. 8D
Hey, why don't the drow look... drowish?
It's currently impossible to make a realistic drow in TS3. Therefore, I took the opportunity to make them appear as they would if the curse were removed from them and they reverted back to regular dark elves.
UPDATE: It is now VERY possible to make a drow in TS3, and ye shall see the results soon enough, muahaha.
