Rikku walked in the door. It had been a long time since she had last been here. Maybe 2 and a half years. It's amazing that she had that much skill for her age (to be able to put up a fight with the great Diablo). She had just turned 15 a couple days earlier. She stood there, looking around. The bar hadn't changed one bit. Still the same mess it was left in.

Tables were covered in dust. Chairs knocked over. The door still off the hinges. And broken glass lay around on the floor. A fierce battle took place here. She's amazed she even survived. Perhaps it was a good thing that the elder elf knew of her relation to Joseph. It saved her life.

She walked over to the bar, picking up the fallen chairs in her way. She looked over the counter. Luckily, there was a tool box, and a broom. She hopped over the counter, and opened the box. Rumaging through it, she found several weapons, daggers, knives, various other hand helds. Things she knew her brother would certainly not use. Finally, she found a screw driver. Perfect. Now she can fix the door.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a half hour before the door was fixed. Rikku swung the door back and forth, just to make sure it was fine. Sure enough, it was. She managed to sweep up most of the glass too. Now she needed a cloth to wipe down the tables. She walked to the counter, where her weapon and her bag lay. She unzipped her bag, and pulled out a small red cloth. It was the same colour as her jacket. It was probably the sleeves she decided to rip off. She began to walk around and wipe the dust off all the tables in the room.

She stopped, when she saw a wooden sign, upside down in the corner of the room. She walked over to investigate it. She picked it up and turned it around. "Joseph Katsuyas' and Diablo Darkfires' Bar...?" she read aloud. This was deffinately the sign for the bar. She walked over to the counter again. Grabing a dagger, she carved out her brothers name, and wrote her own name down.

the Sign

Rikku
Joseph Katsuya's

And

Diablo Darkfire's

Bar

She grabbed a near by hammer, let it hang from her pocket. She placed the sign over her shoulder, and walked towards the door. She walked out side, and picked a nice spot, a few feet from the entrance, on the left side of the path. She positioned the sign, and began to strike it with the hammer. It only took a few hits, and the sign was now up. Advertising her new occupation.

Sure, on the exterior, it looked like a normal bar. But in reality, it was a cover up. She was really opening a hide away for the assassination squad she and Diablo were trying to recruit. A clan. To enter battle with the evil Curio Drakon, Diablo's fallen brother. At this time, they had 4 members. Herself. Diablo. And the offspring of Curio, Raeka, and his younger sister, Raine.

She was alittle upset that Michael decided to stay as far away from the situation when he found out she was an assassin. But perhaps it was best for him. He was just an ordinary teen...Right? But still. How did he take down that tree?

Rikku shook it off, took a quick look around, then walked back into the bar. She had work to do.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 01, 2006 12:32 pm

The sun was just reaching a spot in the sky, so that it was visible above the thick, lush forest. The time was about qaurter after ten. Rikku was still uncertain as to how she always knew the exact time, but she wouldn't complain. She now sat on the roof of the bar. She had been up there for about an hour. She was told that she would have visitors coming here about noon. So she waited. Who was Diablo sending?

It had been about 18 hours since Rikku found this place again. Since then, she fixed the place up. Cleaned up all the debris. Replaced all the soured food and drinks. She had only slept for 5 hours, so she was quite irritable.

Diablo had been hunting his brother down ever since the incedent involving her parents deaths. That was 13 years ago. Curio had taken Rikku under his wing after that. She was trained as a bounty hunter, just like her brother was trained as an assassin by Diablo. It also appeared that Curio had two children as well. The two hunters who attacked her 2 days ago. The two half elfs. She wasn't sure what their intentions were, but she was glad they were gone.

Thats when she saw someone walking down the path towards her bar. She tried to see who it was. Grabbing the pair of binoculars, she peered down the path. It was him again. The same man that attacked her the day before. "What is he doing here...?" She threw the binoculars off the roof, so that they landed in the patch of grass, unseen. She pulled the googles on her hat down, so that they covered her eyes. She picked up her weapon, which she of course brought with her everywhere. Running to the other end of the roof, she was now out of the man's sight. It would probably be about 5 minutes before he reached the building. She would greet him alright. With her blade. She then jumped down, and hid in the shadow.

((Now the next move is also mine, so it won't happen immideatly. Isn't RPing with yourself fun?))

It was late in the morning. The sun was just reaching over the trees, and was now becoming visible from the floor of the thick forest. A man was walking down a path. He wore lightly colour clothes. Baggy pants, baggy dress shirt. A green tunic covered his upper body, but hung loosely over his left shoulder, leaving it conceiled. He wore black leather shoes. A knee pad had covered his left knee, and a leather strap was located on his upper right leg. From the front, it seemed harmless, but behind, it holstered a small dagger with a retractable blade. Under his tunic, unseen, lay a whole assortment of knives and daggers. Attached to his waist, was a sheathed sword. It was on his right side, which indicated he was left handed.

He was after all, a bounty hunter. Probably one of the highest rated in his agency. He was half elf, and half human. Born of a human mother, and raised by an elven murderer. Though he had a history of killing, he was not the same cold blooded killer his father was. He killed to survive. He was given a choice. Kill. Or be killed.

A little cabin began to take shape over the horizan. His directions were given to him correctly. He was told by his uncle to seek out this log cabin. It used to be his and his partners bar. He was told to meet Diablo there. And he was only following directions. Diablo wanted to speak to him regarding his father. So he agreed to it.

It was about 10 minutes before he made it to the cabin. Inspecting the sign, which had Diablo's name on it (and his partners name was crossed out and replaced with a girls name) he figured this had to be the place. He casually walked up to the door. Placing his right hand firmly on the door knob. Before he could turn it, he heard what sounded like someone lurking around the corner, to his left. Someone was waiting for him. He placed his left hand on the hilt of his sword, and began to walk in the direction of his assailant.

((Oh, RPing with yourself is a blast))

((Since they're both my characters, I'm gonna make actions for both of them in this post))

Rikku waited, as the man approached the bar. He was about to enter, when she accidentally stepped on a twig. She stopped moving. She stood completely still. She even held her breathe. She wanted to make sure he hadn't heard. She listened carefully. His footsteps were coming in her direction. He heard her. Luckily, her hand was still on the hilt of her weapon.

Just as he was reaching the corner, she quickly pulled her weapon from her sheath. This action, in hopes to strike him, also gave her location away. As she turned the corner, swinging with her left arm in his direction at a horizontal angle, her blade met his.

He held his weapon up. Left hand on the hilt. Right hand against it, in the center. But it was still in its sheath. He had just enough time to block. No more. No less. Her weapon proved sharp, as it peirced right through the wood of his sheath. A moment stood between them. Neither of them moved. Each waited for the other to make a move. 12 seconds had passed before Rikku pulled back slightly. She threw a kick to his left side.

In retaliation, he moved his weapon to the left, and stopped her foot the same way he stopped her first strike. In the same sort of motion, he quickly moved his right hand, so that it touched the hilt. Using her foot as a way to hold the sheath, he quickly pulled out his weapon. He spun once, and when his gaze was towards her once again, he made a swing for her.

At this time, her foot hit the ground once again. His blade was moving in a horizontal slice towards her chest. She ducked under it, and went to strike him in the gut with her elbow. He saw this coming, and took a leap backwords, tiping it off with a back flip, and landing on his feet in a sort of crouch postion. He spoke to her. "So we meet again, miss." A smile hit his face. He knew something she didn't. He knew that his sister and himself were on the same side as her and Diablo. Diablo obviously didn't tell her that. This appeared to amuse him. "This is the last time I'll ever have to fight you."

She didn't know how right she was.

There it was again. That awkward break in fighting. They just stood there. Looking at eachother. Waiting for the other to make the slightest movement, so that they could attack. This break only lasted 8 seconds, then Raeka took a mad dash towards Rikku. His movements were easy to follow.

He lifted his sword above his head, and looked as though he was gonna swing downward. This left his torso un protected. The teen the took one step forward, with the tip of her weapon aimed at his stomache. She fell right into his trap.

As the sword was just reaching his body, the image of him slowly became transparent, and faded away. An illusion? Where was he now? Before she could make a move, she was struck in the back of the neck. This blow rendered her unconcious. She lay in the grass, and he looked down upon her. "You are correct. This is our last battle...."
------------------------------------------------------------------------
She opened her eyes a couple hours later. It was about 12:34 in the afternoon. Rikku looked around. She was in the bar again. A slight pain was appearent to her in the back of her neck. She tried to bring her hand up to rub her neck, but she couldn't move. She looked down. Raeka had tied her to a chair.

"H-hey! What's going on here?! Why am I tied to a chair?!" Raeka was sitting across the room, enjoying a drink. He noticed that she had awoken. He stood up and walked over to her. She couldn't see him, as he was seated behind her. "It's for your protection," he told her. "What is that supposed to mean?!" Her voice had a hint of anger within it. "Wait till Diablo arrives. He'll explain everything to you. He said he'd arrive at two."

"So I'm stuck here until then?"

"That is correct."

"That's not fair!"

"I wasn't asked to be fair"

They would continue to argue for the next couple of hours.

((I don't really feel like typing out 2 hours worth of conversation, so until Travis can get his a** on here, that might be all.))

About a half an hour had gone by since Rikku woke up. The two had argued for 5 minutes, but haven't really spoken since. Now, Rikku was testing Raeka's patience.

"What time is it?"

"I don't know"

"Then how will you know when Diablo gets here?"

"He'll get here, when he gets here."

"In otherwords, you 'don't know'..."

"I was told you always knew what the time was."

"Who told you that?!"

"Your master."

"Curio? How do you know him?"

"You'll find out when Diablo gets here."

"Agh! You're impossible!"

She bit her tongue. She knew arguing would get her no where. And he seemed like he wasn't even getting angry. She figured she'd make a compromise.

"So what's you name anyways?"

"Raeka...Why do you ask?"

"Hmm? Oh. No reason. I'm Rikku, by the way."

"I know."

"H-how do you...Oh. Right. Curio."

((Yeah, I got really bored))

A soft but frusturated sigh came from a girl, seemingly sixteen to seventeen years old. Walking along the side of the worn and dusty path embedded in the forest, her hand brushed the thick trunks of several neglected trees. Originally, her thought was to follow her master, proving to him that she was capable of stealth, trailing after an enemy. But unfortunately, she'd lost her way in the dense underbrush.

A breeze ruffled the edges of this unusually dressed girl's sleeves, revealing an odd design imprinted on her hand. Though the day was warm, the several branches of the trees of the forest blocked the sunlight, and her source of warmth. But this wasn't what put the girl, otherwise known as Sachi, on edge. Her locks of hair often flipped backwards as her head turned to check no one was following her.

"Ugh, just leave me alone.." She murmured under her breath. A hand swatted the air above her shoulder. Laughing softly at her own naivety, her eyes strained to see the end of the forest. A faint light shone through, which sparked Sachi's hopes. She'd been wandering for most of the morning, lost. Brushing her hair off her shoulders, her legs swiftly reached the edge of the forest with the guidance of the sun's light.

Stepping out into the daylight, her body tensed. Even though she was finally out of that leafy prison, the risks heightened out in the streets. Squinting, she faced the direction of the blinding sun and her hand reached up, shielding her violet eyes. As her eyes became accustomed to the radiance the sun shone down on her after the pitch dark of the forest, she spied a small log cabin. Silence enclosed her as it had for most of the day, but there were small interruptions in the quiet. A slight smile spread on her face as Sachi recognized the familiar voice of her master, Raeka. The girl's pace quickened, but no noise followed her footsteps. She wasn't even supposed to be here after all; she followed Raeka when he departed on a "mission" as he called it. She was only delayed when the forest imprisoned her. Frowning slightly at her self, she became disappointed in her own skill. She tried shrugging it off, but all memories of being caught in the forest disappeared as she faced a sign.

"Rikku Katsuya's and Diablo Darkfire's Bar.." She read quietly. Looking closely, she saw that a name had been crossed out. "Joseph Katsuya?" She read again, this time unsure since the name had been scratched out messily. Fingering the sign, her eyes glanced towards the door of the bar. It looked worn down, but also as if someone had recently worked on it. Reaching down into her boots, her right hand extracted a metallic silver shape that resembled the one on her hand. Sachi's index finger brushed past the sharp edges which pricked her slightly, but didn't bother her. Discretely, she opened the door, not bothering to concentrate or anything. She'd been long overdue for an adventure and her heart raced as she quietly opened the door, wincing slightly at any small squeak it caused.

Raekas' eyes opened suddenly. He had sat completely still for the past half hour, meditating. His eyes narrowed to the door. Rikku heard too. Someone was approaching. Raeka stood up. Reaching for something under his cloak, Rikku knew what he was doing. She heard the 'ting' that steel made when a blade was removed from it's encasing. She didn't have to read his mind to know what he was doing.

He revealed a long, slender blade, about 7 inches in length. He held it in his right hand. He lifted it up wards, so that that it was in front of his left shoulder. He was ready to strike. As the door slowly began to open, his eyes narrowed on the wooden slab. Rikku wanted to shout out to who ever it was, but all she did was bite her bottom lip. Should she piss him off, she was defensless. What with being tied to a chair, how is one to fight back.

Suddenly, the blade lauched at the door. He threw it with just enough force to have it pierce the wood, but not enough so that it completely shot through. "Sachi! You were being reckless."

Rikku looked over at the man with surprise. Did he just throw a blade at an ally? Better yet, did he know who was entering? There was something fishy about him. She had to know just what he was thinking. Luckily, she was able to find out.

Telepathy. That's what she was known for, aside from her incredible skill with bladed objects. She was able to peer into an unknowing mind, take whatever information she needed, and leave, without the person ever knowing she was there. Now then....Just what was he thinking.

As she looked at his thoughts, she clearly saw the image of a young girl. One that was familiar to him. Someone dear to him. His student. She looked further. It became appearent to her that he could sense a person based on their life force. Auras, huh? Something she would have to learn. It appeared that he knew her exact location based on this ability. He knew exactly how the young girl was positioned behind the door. And if he aimed right, the blade would stick out an exact inch, infront of the young girls face.

'Would you like some pie?' Wait...What? That doesn't seem right. Rikku snapped back to her own mind, to realise that he was aware of her telepathic intrusion. He smiled, as he looked down on her. "Well, would you?"

Sachi stood, staring straight at blade that was exactly an inch away from her face. Smirking, she pushed the door open further, examining her new surroundings. Glancing at the girl tied to a chair, she stepped back, surprised. Her gaze turned to Raeka, but instead of a surprised look, her face held a questioning look. 'What are you doing?' Her voice entered her master's mind clearly, as clear as the morning sky that could be seen outside. Shrugging it off, her eyes rolled.

"Reckless? I think I've certainly improved since you first saw me..." Her voice was quiet, but could be clearly heard in the dusty silence of the bar. Closing her eyes, the rickety chair closest to her was surrounded in a purple and black aura which lifted it up and brought it to the girl. Smoothing her skirt, she sat down carefully, warily watching the legs of the chair. "What about pie?" A slight smile arose as her hand ran through her thick violet colored hair. The metal overlapping triangles hung around her free hand, twirling to any slighly body movement.

Sighing, she gave the man that stood opposite of her a disappointed look. "As your student, I thought you would know me better. Do you really think I would stay put like a dog while you went off and had some adventure?" She murmured. Arching an eyebrow, the girl questioned him with a steady voice. Her dark eyes flickered back to the girl, which she understood was named Rikku. Sachi didn't need to read her mind for that; common sense was just fine. A girl's name was carved out on the front and if she was being held captive here by her own master, there must be a good reason for it. Standing up, she took the handle of Raeka's blade. Pulling it out, she slowly fingered the gap it made it the door. Turning towards him, she threw it beside him. It landed safetly beside his foot, embedded in the floor.

Concentrating on the girl tied to the chair, her confused look became more and more evident. The girl looked no more than fifteen or fourteen. Frowning slightly, she fingered the edge of her dress. Something was definitely up, but Sachi was too tired to even bother. Seeking her way out of the forest had taken much of her energy out, as she had tried several times to use her abilities and look further in her mind to see the way out, and more importantly, where Raeka was. Usually, at this time, she'd be training with Raeka until late night. Don't let your defenses down! If Raeka's tied up this girl, there must be a good reason. The girl thought fiercely to herself. Her form could be seen tensing and straightening. She rubbed the overlapping triangles that still hung around her left hand, still lost in her own thoughts of what the heck was going on.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2006 8:12 pm

Rikku looked at the girl. Then at Raeka. Then back at the girl. Then she just simpley closed her eyes. They seemed to be conversing. Something she'd stay out of until she had an opening.

Raeka spoke in regards to his students questionable tone. "Reckless. You may have improved since we met, but a slight improvement won't save your life. Just remember, I could have killed you if I wanted to."

He reached down to retrieve his blade. As he stood up, and replaced it under his cloak, he continued to lecture her. "Remember, when enter a building, always be sure of how many are present in the building, and make damn sure you know their exact location. If you are uncertain, never enter through the front door. It's too obvious. If you have no other choice, never use your entire body to open the door. Always open from around the corner. Though not everyone can sense auras, many people can attack you from behind the door, with ever having to see you. You can never take a chance. If you do, you may end up dead."

Rikku listened. This was all common knowledge to her. Curio was a lot harsher in his lectures. No wonder she learned so quickly. "Ahem!" she loudly interupted. "I'm sorry to break up your little 'reunion', but I would like to be untied."

"I already told you. You must remain there until Diablo arrives." Raeka said in a cold tone.

"I really don't give a damn! I want you to let me out of this chair!!"

"You see this Sachi. I want you to remember this. If you ever talk back to me like she just did, you'll be in her place."

Rikku just sat, showing irritation, simpley turned away. She was beginning to formulate a plan of escape. Luckily for her, one of the first things Curio taught her was to gaurd her mind. No matter how hard they would try, all they would see if they tried to read her mind, was an ordinary brick wall.

Though Sachi often grew tired of his endless lectures, she stood straight, listening intently. But even so, her weariness showed through her voice, "Yes master.." She murmured. She glanced to her side, arching her eyebrows slightly at the girl. It wasn't that Sachi was the type to hate someone at first glance, but there was something surrounding her or something that made her uneasy. It was also as if Rikku knew something more than her, which irritated the half sorceress.

Perking up, she groped her mind, searching for when she had heard of the name Diablo. Frowning, she recalled a faint memory when Raeka had first brought in Sachi. He'd been talking with a stranger - she wasn't sure who to this day - and he mentioned his name every now and then gravely. Returning back to reality, she smoothed her skirt unnecissarily. Her temper flaring, she bit her lip to keep from saying anything. Though she did care about Raeka, sometimes he treated her like a kid. She was becoming good at her skills, even if she was still a novice, and it killed her whenever he looked down on her like that. Sometimes she made faces behind his back when he irritated her so, but she knew that he knew. A smile crept onto her face when she remembered this, but she immediately straightened her face.

Sachi's glance pierced Rikku as she could tell the girl was up to something. "Who are you?" She asked in a slightly exasperated tone. Impatient and curious, this sometimes caused her to be in trouble with Raeka. This question earned her a hard and stern look from her master, but she ignored it. I deserve some answers for coming all this way...Right?

PostPosted: Mon Feb 27, 2006 4:35 pm

Rikkus' eyes found the young girls face, when she was asked for her name. Raeka indruded. "As I've been telling her, that is not important right now. Things will become clear when Diablo arrives."

Rikku became quite irritated with that. "How dare you refer to me as being insignificant!" Her muscles tensed. In one swift motion, she managed to snap the ropes that bound her to the chair, then stood up. She lifted her foot up, and slammed it down on the chair, just above were the leg connected to it. This snapped the leg right off, and with the same leg, she kicked the leg upward, so that she was able to catch it with her right arm.

She lunged herself at the elf, with the chair leg in hand. She had aimed her upcomming attack at his head. He moved so swiftly, that he pulled a blade out from beneath his cloak, and even placed it in the way of the chair leg. The blade was sharp enough, that it cut right through the wood of the leg.

Rikkus' initial judgement was a bad one to make. She quickly hopped backwards. As her feet hit the ground, she lept upwards. Swift movements allowed her to swivel in the air, press her feet against the ceiling, and use that to push herself towards the counter of the bar. Why? Her weapon lay on the counter.

She landed a short distance from her sword. She made a mad dash towards it. And she made it. All that was keeping her from her weapon was an arms reach. As she reached for her weapon, a boot was placed on the sheath. She looked up to find who the foot belonged to. Standing on the counter above her, was the man they had all been waiting for.

Diablo Darkfire.

He stood upon the counter, his foot upon the blade. It had been some time since he had seen the pair of them last. His eyes slowled turned to the new girl as he tilted his head, he briefly entered her mind to find out just her name. He then looked at Rikku and said briefly, "If you had been my prisoner, I do not think you would have gotten away with that." His attention snapped to Raeka, "And you call Sachi sloppy?" He shook his head slightly. He stepped forward and landed siliently on the floor.
He peered around the bar, a thoughtfull look upon his face, his eyes slightly clouded over as if he was dwelling in a memory or two. His eyes drifted closed and then snapped open, their peircing gaze could probably be felt by the on lookers, his hand raised to his face and pulled the thin sunglasses from his face. This made his eyes visable, they held no signs of warmth, they just peirced the surroundings like a arrow tip through flesh.
He then looked back to Raeka and asked, "You sent a messenger to find me, what is it that you wanted? I do not have the time for the mindgames you play," He then grinned a bit, "But, tying up Rikku was a bit childish was it not?" He then looked to Rikku and said as he placed his hand on her head and removed her hat and set it on the bar and then ruffled her hair, "Still impatient I see."
He then turned his head, it was the new girl he should speak to now. But he did not say a word at first, be walked slowly towards Raeka and stopped infront of him. He looked down at his eyes and said, "But I have to warn you about something..." His voice trailed off and then his fist came up and caught Raeka in the gut with a short strong burst as he picked up his sentence, "Don't ruin the bar anymore then it is." His eyes turned to the girl and he noded slightly and said, "If you have not already caught it, I am the one they were waiting for."

Sachi gave a small frown, not knowing whether Diablo had insulted her or her master. Either way, her pride was hurt. "Very funny..." She muttered under her breath. Her eyes snapped to attention, watching the stranger intently. She'd never talked to him before yet he knew her name and by the looks of it, most everything about her. Shrugging it off, Sachi's dark eyes ocassionally glanced from Raeka, to Rikku, then back to Diablo.
Still sitting in the rusty and unstable chair, she could sense immense tension. Guessing it was coming mostly from the other girl in the bar, the sixteen-year-old tried guessing the relationships between everyone. First Diablo speaks of Rikku being his prisoner, then he ruffles her hair as if she was a younger sister. Raeka was obviously aquaintances with the man, seeing as he could send a messenger to him, but the man didn't seem like one her master would associate with. Of course, Raeka hid many things from her so she barely knew the man who had taught her all she knew at the moment.

"The bar was already in a horrible position when I arrived; the only damage Raeka had done is the dent in the door and I made a hole in the floor. That's all," She spoke defensively, yet quietly. Sachi dared not to compete with the man. The air around him was too overpowering for her and his attitude seemed like a snake. He would be perfectly calm, but ready to strike at any moment. A shiver ran down her back despite the warm breezes floating through the open door as she analyzed the information she already knew.

Not willing to interrupt the measly conversation anymore than she had, her finger found a loose thread on her sleeve. Tying it around several times around her finger out of pure boredom, her finger turned cold, then numb for the loss of circulation. Finally unwinding it, she wiggled her finger slightly to regain feeling. Returning her gaze to Diablo, a small sigh escaped her. Being short of information and facts annoyed her greatly. Everyone always seemed to know more than her and acted superior over her just because they were older as well. Fortunately for her, this time Rikku didn't seem that better off than her, though she might have more background about Diablo.
