Shooting Star sighed again. Her daughter wasn't paying attention. "Jupiter..."
Jupiter cringed and turned her head away from the meadow and back to her mother. "Sorry..."
"You need to be learning these things. You are the next heir. I will not have a weak link in my chain."
Jupiter's father shook his head and nuzzled his mate. "Darling, Jupiter may not have an empire to rule, should we never find a way home..."
She watched as her mother's breath caught in her throat. The mention of such things had been enough to cause fights between her parents. Her mother lived for their empire, and it hurt Jupiter to see her so upset about their predicament. "Even if there isn't an empire...I cannot let my family down..."
Sunspot smiled, "That is my daughter. Always doing what she must. Now if only your youngest brother would learn a few things from you..." He eyed the red male laying in the meadow, soaking up the sun. "We cannot all have the luxury of sunbathing."

Miku flitted through the air, the sunlight sparkling off her wings noticeably. She hummed merrily, seemingly intent on her destination. Until the unicorns below caught her attention. Oh! They looked like fun! With a smile, she spiraled down to greet them, never thinking that they might be dangerous.

Midnight appeared seemingly out of nowhere, his body moving in front of the Silver Lady's. "Halt!" His black horn was pointed at the intruder's heart, ready to lash if his mistress was threatened.
On the other side, out of the grass and mimicking her mate's movements, Graystone aimed her horn for the life organ as well. "Come no further!"
Sunspot pushed Shooting Star behind him, eyes narrowed at the newcomer, "Friend or foe?"
Shaking her head, Shooting Star smiled, "I think she is a friend. No foe would dare to approach the three of you in the open." She was half joking. "Stand down, Midnight, Graystone."
The two guards lowered their horns, though the menacing look never left their eyes. "Yes your Majesty."

"Woooow!" Miku's eyes glittered as she watched Midnight and Graystone. "That was so neat! How'd you pop out of nowhere like that? Can you teach me? I'm Miku, by the way, what are your names? How come you all jumped to protect the shiny one? Is she really important? Oooh! I'll bet she's really delicate!"

Jupiter coughed and stood, her horn glinting in the sunlight. "You will use formal speech in front of the Empress of Phantasyia..." She frowned, not knowing how to end her phrase. "Excuse me, this is rather rude, but you didn't mention your title when you introduced yourself. And your heralds are lacking greatly, if they're so slow they cannot keep up with you to announce your arrival."
A smug and proud look appeared on Sunspot's face. Juptier's tone, though slightly mocking, held every ounce of regal authority, as if she were already the empress. "Jupiter, curb your tongue. Your mother, for some reason, doesn't mind holding an audience with this one."
Shooting Star rolled her eyes. "You, my darling mate, seem to forget that we were once common folks. It does us no harm in treating with them." She smiled at the flutter, "Are you native to these valleys?"

"Yep! Native! That's me!" she giggled. "Well not here. I come from Flutter Valley, but that's because I'm a Flutter, so that's the valley I come from. Why would I have a hearld? Oh! Title! That sounds like fun! What kind of title could I have?"

Shooting Star's eyes narrowed once more on her duaghter. "Her Royal Highness seeks to make a royal a** out of herself. If you cannot behave properly, and have respect for all your people, no matter how great or small, then you will be a disappointment to the Rinaldi Romovou line." She smiled again at Miku, "You don't come from any noble house? Are there any noble houses here? My children and I have yet to find anyone who comes from our home, or who shares a noble blood."
Jupiter shrank down into the grass at the scolding. Her mother always found a way to turn anything into a learning experience. "What exactly is a flutter?"

"I'm a flutter," she chirped. "And nope! No nobles! Not that I know of. Maybe there's some nobles. There's noble minded people, or noble hearted. I heard of someone called a noble. What makes a noble anyway? And where are you all from?"

"Nobles are what we are. People from the ruling class. I suppose anyone can be a noble...though it's not really done. I don't know what makes one...That is something I'm still learning..." She glanced at her mother, trying to make up for her lapse in manners.
The quiet Sunspot cleared his throat, "Nobility is really more than the blood in the veins. It is about the kind of person you are. Benevolence, Mercy, Justice, Bravery, Wisdom, these are all qualities that make up a noble person. It is the words and deeds that prove these qualities, and by such that we know that nobility is more than that which your heart pumps."
Jupiter rolled her eyes. Another wise moment from her father. He did have a point though...she'd have to file this comment away for later study. "We are from Phantasyia. We were thrown through some dimensional gap to this place...why only The One Who Rules All knows. But we can't get back. We're stuck..."

Laughing, Jupiter spoke, "I will give you a title. You shall be the first Lady of Never Sorrows. No one here seems to ever be sad, and you, I think the sun would weep if you were ever sad."

"That's what we'll call this place. Never Sorrows. And this whole meadow will be yours." Jupiter stood up again and eyed the expanse. "You could build quite a large manor here."
"You are certainly quite free with titles that you do not have to give." Shooting Star smiled teasingly, "Though I think you're right. It does fit. And Miku of Never Sorrows will have a wonderful manor, if that's what she wishes. You could have the first house we've made in this place. It would be a nice gift to welcome you to New Phantasyia."
"Oh do I get to make the lights? I'm working on a new Thunder Ball. Please?"
