Jumoke sighed contedly and gazed around him happily. The sun was shining, there was a light breeze, the air wasn't too hot or too cold. It was a beautiful day. Jumo was not going to let it go to waste. He'd woken up early and knew that it would be ideal weather for a long walk. So, he'd gotten a drink of water and had set out. He knew there were places in the pride's lands where he wasn't allowed, so he was careful to stay clear of them. Still, he had plenty of room to walk.

Many of the other lions thought Jumoke was simple or a little slow. That wasn't really the case. He just liked to take time to think things through. He fully admitted he wasn't the smartest in the group, nor the wittiest. It didn't bother him that he wasn't as charming as the other males. He tried to make up for it with being as kind and as patient as he could. It came very easily to him as his mother had raised him very well.

He smiled as his thoughts turned to his mother. She'd been wonderful to him, always there when he needed her and he had always been on his best behavior so he could make her proud. He'd learned to become very observant and that it was okay if he was a little different. He loved his mother and his pride. He was very loyal to both.

Jumoke stopped as he came upon a particularly lovely tree. He couldn't help it, he had to stop and admire it. It was a marvelous spot, so he curled up by the roots of the tree and decided to spend some time enjoying the shade.

Kalila's ears perked up as she heard someone approach. Kalila was a meek girl, easily letting herself be pushed around from the other females. She had never minded, as being patient made everything easy to bear. Nothing had been painful, it was where she was in her life, and she herself didn't mind. But there were times when she wondered, was this all she was going to do with her life?

She had wandered a bit, letting her paws slowly guide her around the trees. It had been quite pleseant, as well as quiet. SHe had been shaken from her deep thoughts from a soft rustle, one that didn't sound quite normal.

She peeked around, her orange eyes locating a male that was looking quite content near a tree. Hmm, that was a little odd. Not bad-odd, just....different-odd.

"Hello," she said quietly, figuring that a little talk couldn't hurt.

Jumoke was quite relaxed, eyes half-lidded, simply enjoying the lovely day. He was quite surprised then at the sound of a voice nearby. He sheepishly looked around until he saw the female nearby, also seeming to enjoy the lovely day. He grinned at her and called back a greeting.

"Why hello there!" he said enthusiastically. He stood and walked over until he was a respectable distance away. He bowed deeply as a sign of respect to the female. That was how he'd been taught and raised. He always respected the females of the pride. They were of a higher rank than he was and he understood and accepted that.

He quickly wondered if he had somehow disturbed her and his expression turned to one of apologetic concern.

"Oh, do forgive me, please. Did I disturb you? I didn't mean to, I promise. I will leave if you'd like me to. I was simply enjoying the beauty of the day," he said with a small smile.

Jumoke found beauty in everything and one of his favorite pastimes was simply to look and enjoy them.

Oh. He was quite polite, and quite happy. Her ears flickered forwards and backwards, not really sure how she should take this. Kalila had never really spent any time around other males, not even her own brother. She knew a little about how everything worked, well, more than a little, but she had never had to really interact, and that's where she got a little nervous.

She wasn't the bravest lioness around.

"Hi," she replied, bobbing her head. He was repsectful, and she appreciated that. She didn't think she could handle one of the more rowdy males; and she knew that there were a few around.

"You aren't bothering me," she said softly, shaking her head. "I'm just...wandering a bit."
