I was in Barnes and Noble tonight, and I saw something that made me think "oh, I'll share this with the guild" (for you see, I know few people in real life who share our love of books). There was a cute little saying on some item on a display table near the check-out line. It read "Book lovers never go to bed alone." Being a single (and not looking) bibliophile, I loved it! xd
Are there any nifty quotes or sayings about books or book-lovers that you've read and liked?

Haha, I love that one too!
You know, I was thinking about posting a similar thread a few weeks ago when I watched The Pagemaster. I wanted to see if anyone would like to discuss the comments made in movies about books, rather than just based upon them.
Well, I was going to a friend's apartment on campus once when I noticed the bulletin board had the following posted: "Don't judge a book by its movie."
Are we truly pathetic when we look forward to posting in guilds? I find so few people to share my passions offline as well.

Well, perhaps we're truly pathetic, or perhaps we're just truly rare. heart
I love that saying, "Don't judge a book by it's movie." I plan to see Memoirs of a Geisha on Friday, and I'm not finished with chapter two yet. I can't imagine seeing the movie before reading the book. eek I want to have my own opinion about it first.

The imagery and prose are nice enough, but the story itself is what makes me dislike it. Maybe I am just hard to please when it comes to books?

People like to tell me that I have a book addiction and my response is always: "I would rather be addicted to books than drugs or alcohol any day. At least books improve my mental ablities rather than degrade them. And they are less likely to kill me too!"

As though to say, "well, I may have broken up again, but I still have my books!" 4laugh For company, that is. Not ... for anything else.

I can't think of any.. But I heart Barnes and Noble.
For my 15th birthday, all I'm going to do is go to Barnes and Noble's and browse/read ALL day! It's going to be heaven. And also, Starbucks. (Which is inside B&N heart )

I went and saw the movie...it was good..but the general rule holds to be that the books are better than the movie, so I'm looking forward to reading it now...it's on my shelf, but I need the time to get to it.

Bookstores are fantastic & I love Barnes and Noble.
Libraries are better, though. WheN i go to a library & something jumps off the shelf at me, I can take it without worrying about the checkbook. And the library is full of book lovers and there is always ILL, which is the most wonderful invention since the book itself.
