If there was one thing he truly loved about spending time alone... it was the training he could get in without worrying about someone snickering, or reporting back to their father, or telling him their was an 'easier' way to do it... oh the joy to having both young and older siblings. Arthur reared back up onto his hind legs, lashing out his front against a sapling before him, feeling more than seeing his hooves cut into the thin bark. Landing, he inspecting the damage, and sighed. Not even close to his father's slicing blows against the full grown trees in the area. And he hardly had the weight yet to slam his girth against something... nor the jaw strength to really do any damage... O the annoyances to being young. He shook his head, sighing into the faint cold of the night. Nothing horrible, just enough to take off the edge of working out and make sweating rather unnecessary except for beneath the small pieces of armor that kept the chill of the eve at bay. He paused to inspect them now, the pale light of the moon not quite full giving them an odd glow. He didn't have to wear them so much, he could take them off while training and running around... but if his father didn't, then why would he? They were weights he was growing used to, and while he bathed or swam, certainly he took them off. And doing so just.... felt... weird. No, he would keep his on as much as possible. Besides, eventually they'll be replaced by bigger, heavier armor suited to a real knight. This idea made him grin, and began running laps around a set obstacle course, ducking under and leaping over rocks and logs, circling others, and all around trying to increase his speed and endurance and reflexes. Hmph, and his siblings said he never played....

Nana adored the night sky! The shiny sparkling stars, the bright moon, and the fresh cool air. What else could be better? Lucky for her, she was able to sneak away from her parents at this time. They were usually up and about at this time. But her mother was out cold, especially after a day of looking over three foals! Her father was out in the sky, flying, and enjoying the night as much as she was. If she looked hard enough, she could see something moving high up in the stars. It was him, her father. She wished she could join him, but she couldn't fly just yet. So, she was stuck on land, admiring from afar. But there was much to explore on the ground, and she was out to see what was here! Trotting about through the forest, she looked around thoroughly! Her silver red eyes scanned for anything that might catch her attention. Anything shiny perhaps, or something she hadn't noticed before. She had explored this forest many a times already. But there always seemed to be something out of place. Something that wasn't there before... Or maybe even someone. She wasn't to keen to meeting others, especially if it would let her loose track of time. She didn't want her dad to catch her sneaking off. He would just give her some lecture about how it's "dangerous" or something. How fun! Bleh, it's to quiet. With that, she had to let out a little hum. She loved to sing, but not when there would be potential Soq around. So, she just stuck to humming. Letting whatever came to her, come. Let's see what would happen this time.

Humming? His running skid to a stop, blinking into the dark forest around him. He took a few deep breaths to calm his panting, taking in the silence to listen in for that fragment of a sound he thought he'd heard.... yes! He'd heard right! Someone... someone was humming?
Arthur's ears flicked about, a frown darkening his features. No one in his family was big on music, never mind they were all asleep. Someoneelse was here, the question was... who? Any of his parents' friends wouldn't come during the dead of night, and the further along he went with this process of elimination, the more the mini-knight was quite sure it was a stranger... and oh the amount of concerns that sprang up with that realization.
Small hooves took him carefully towards the source of the melody, brain playing various scenarios. A random wanderer? A predator? Oh man... what kinds of creatures could fall under that category alone... did Kalona or Skinwalkers even bother to hum? That didn't seem very smart for a killer....
Perhaps someday he'd learn to not jump to so many conclusions, but for now, the foal gulped and tried as silently as he could to get as close as he could... only to find himself blinking rather blankly at what he found.
A foal?
...a foal with... wings?
He vaguely took into account her accessories, his eyes more keen on her apparent age and just the fact that... well, didn't get many winged individuals around here.
"Aren't you a little far from home?" he questioned lightly, stepping out of the shade and into a bit of near light to show he wasn't a threat. Not that he could be - couldn't she just fly away if trouble showed up? "I've never seen someone like you around here."

Nana was minding her business, humming with no knowledge she was giving herself away. No knowledge she was humming at all. As she hummed her mind wondered, as it always did. She did expect anyone to be around here this late. Then again, SHE was around... So there was a chance someone else could be around. But she would rather like it that she didn't come across anyone. It made her very shy meeting new Soq... She spoke when spoken to. But it was obvious she wasn't feeling comfortable. She just didn't know how to react around strangers. Only if she were more outgoing like her father. That wasn't going to happen.
Once the thought of strangers left her mind, they quickly returned. The voice of the colt creeping out of the shadows stopped her in her tracks with a jump of surprise. She was quiet. Her mind wasn't. Oh great Soq! Another one! How do I always run into these Soquili? I can't handle meeting strangers! Her mind kept on going trough the same thoughts. That is, until she noticed his armor... It was shiny and she was now focused on that. She loved shiny things. But she kept her focus on that to long... She missed the whole first part of what he had said, and only caught the last part. Oh well.
"Yeah well, I've never seen anyone like you around here either!" She snapped
Yeah, that's what she wished she could say.
"Oh, ummm.. I actually do live around here.." She mumbled.

It was difficult to miss the quick jump, inwardly wincing. He scared her. Oops. Although, to be fair, she'd put him on edge as well... His ears strained to hear her small voice, taking a small step forward to try and better hear her. The least he could do was be polite after thinking she was some kind of killer and then startling her like that. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I've only seen my family or their friends in the area." Which did include a good few equines, so suddenly it seemed rather silly for him to have assumed he would know everyone who might live around here. "Where did you learn that song? It sounded nice." Because gods forbid he forget his mom's directions to always make nice with anyone he meets. Well, assuming they weren't gunning for a fight or trying to hurt someone, that's when dad's teachings are supposed to kick in. Supposedly.
His curiosity was genuine though, expression brightening a bit into a small friendly smile. "No one I know is very good at music, so I got curious who was humming." Not a lie! Just... not the full truth, either. Not that she needed to know that, nope nope. How strange though. His tail flicked a bit, an unusual unease settling into him. Sure he wasn't the most outgoing of his family (go to basically every other sibling for that, really), but he'd never say he wasn't at least a little social.
So why... did he feel so awkward? Maybe he just needed to get out more. Yeah, that was it... hopefully. He'd be a damn poor knight if he couldn't have a conversation with a stranger, that's for sure.

She hadn't know others lived around here at all. She would always come across wondering individuals, not others who live around the forest. Then again, she lived quite deep in the forest. If others lived as deep into the forest as she did, it would be hard to miss them. She only had to assume they lived nowhere near her. Which was a good thing to Nana.
She hadn't learn that song anywhere... Well, she didn't remember the song she was humming. But she was pretty sure it just come to her off the top of her head. That's usually how it happened. Though her parents had thought her many a songs so far, the just never came to mind. She would just hum random tunes. It was unfortunate that this colt didn't know anyone whom was very musical. Both her parents were very good singers, she was bond to inherit such an ability.
She didn't make a move, even though he foal stepped a tad bit closer. "I didn't learn the song anywhere... I just.. Made it up.." She murmured.
Nana always seemed to create those awkward moments. She was nervous herself, which only just made things even more uncomfortable. Not only for herself, but others around her. It would probably take an incredibly outgoing, and outrageous Soq to get here out of such a rut. Or at least, to make her be herself. She would eventually become a bit more comfortable if she were around her company longer. But she would still be her quiet awkward self.

"You... made it up?"
Arthur could only stare at her, mouth agape as he tried to contemplate this. It had been a wonderful tune, and she'd just... made it up? Now, perhaps to someone with a more artistic soul this wouldn't seem like such a magnificent feat, but to someone born to training exercises and tactical maneuvers, someone trained more in creative acts to gain the upper hand in a fight to defend another...
Making up a simple little tune was simply astounding.
Never mind she could actually carry a tune....
"That's amazing! Heh, and here I am proud if I can figure out a new way to get through one of father's scenarios." Because, surely, being able to figure out a melody that works is far more complicated than vocalizing a solution to a hypothesized combat situation.
Considering he did the latter at least twice a day and the former never... yeah, yeah it was a lot more complicated to hum a good tune.
It was rare for him to get this excited, usually far more soft spoken (gruff might be a good word here) to allow his younger brother and sister to take the lead in talkative and all around outgoing avenues. Now? Maybe he just wanted to get used to talking to a stranger, or maybe the filly's shyness made him want to try and help her open up.
Or maybe, for once, he was letting himself just act like a kid and not care who saw.
"Have you ever made up lyrics, or do you like singing melodies more than words?"

Nana didn't find making up some random tune as amazing as her new company, obviously. With musical parents, she would probably feel more so defeated if she couldn't. Both her parents could carry a tune, but she couldn't? That would've probably broken her heart! But she didn't have to worry about that! She could carry a tune, and could hum whatever she wanted. Quite a talent, and she was glad she had it! Though, without it, she would probably run into less strangers. To bad she STILL didn't realize that.
Scenarios? What is he some kind of knight in tra- Stopping in her thought, she looked him over once again. Caught by his shiny armor, which she almost forgot he was wearing. Yeah.. That makes sense.. She finished thinking. Nana could never see herself in some sort of combat situation. She was far to withdrawn to get in any sort of fight, whether it be an argument or physical. I suppose they were both in quite the opposite of boats.
She looked to him when she answered. "Umm.. I've never m-made up lyrics. I s-sing songs my parents t-teach me sometimes... But I usually just hum.." Only to shy away once she was finished.
Her mind and her actual words just never seemed to harmonize! She wished they would for once, but they just didn't. If she wasn't so shy she wouldn've been long gone from this stranger. But here she was, still playing 20 questions. Her favorite game... Not really. She would hopefully get over her conflict of personalities. One day.
