Junichi had been forced into this so called pack for god knows how long. The female who had cornered and brought him in put up a good fight. All of this could have been avoided if Juni had just given up his scrap of bone. Now he was serving these so called tallest. It made his blood boil just thinking about that yellow b***h. Ah well, he was on guard duty now and needed to watch out for any bigger animals. Anansi would find him and hurt him if he didn't submit. Junichi didn't want that to happen. So he was being good today.
Gavivi was hanging around the area while she waited for Ganon and the lady-boss to get back to him. Which meant that she wasn't needed, which was a real pain. She liked being around the boss a lot better than not being around him. She wasn't so good with the thinking. Liked knowing that she didn't have to worry about thinking... Ganon was good for that. And then she saw the little dog thing. She had never seen a little dog thing before, but it was little, and looked like a dog, so it was a little dog thing. "What an odd little dog thing."
Junichi stiffened at the sight of the huge lioness. She was a distance way but the jackal could tell that she was build big. His eyes widened some. There was no way a jackal , alone, would be able to scare off such a creature. He watched her from where he was. Maybe she'd pass by. Maybe she was no threat. So the jackal stayed his post and watched with big eyes.
She walked forward a little, tilting her head to the side, "Come here little dog thing. You are odd looking and I find you interesting." She told him, though she usually only found killing, crushing and destroying things interesting. But hey, she'd never seen a little dog thing before. She kind of liked it. She wanted to see what it would do. Plus, if it ran, there was no way it was going to escap from her. She was bigger, stronger, and probably faster. She just wanted to play with it a little...
There was no way in hell the dog was going close to that lioness. Junichi had never trusted lions or other felines or bigger predators in general. He'd seen them eat his kind before. Well, not every single predator, but he'd seen his comrades go down as a snack. This lioness wasn't being rude, but Junichi didn't trust her. And could you blame him? The jackal took a few steps back and started to sprint off, away from the pack. He'd lead her on a little trail then ditch her. Haha, he was a cleaver one.

Gavivi grinned a little, "You run away... I'm. Gunna. Eat. You." She promised, before bolting forward, claws launching out of her paws viciously as she took off. Boss always said that she shouldn't kill things just for fun. Not unless he said so. But if something ran away from her with no reason too... then she should chase them and kill them all. All of them. Just one right now, but whatver made her happy after all. And killing the little thing would make her happy. Well, no, finding out what the little thing was would make her happy. And she would catch him soon.
The jackal weaved to the side in a sudden jerk and bee lined to the right. He did this quite a bit until he kicked off and went to the left instead. He hoped it would confuse her. If not he could run all day. Thank god Jackals were fast little monsters or hed be s**t out of luck.
As he deeked left, she slid in the dirt, sliding around as she pivited on her claws. Yeah, she was stupid, that was for sure... but she was also big, strong, and fast. Pretty much her only redeeming qualities actually. "Come on little dog thing! I just want to see what you are!" She called, before digging in and taking off after him. She could do this all day, and it was just starting to get fun.
Junich looked back over his shoulder to see the huge lioness was not out for the count. s**t s**t s**t s**t, he couldn't let her catch him. He'd seen what happened to so many jackals and he wasn't about to let that happen to him self. The jackal weaved back toward the pack lands. It was full of traps after all and this lioness didnt seem like she was going to give up any time soon. The jackal could only hope she would after the maze of fun he lead her through.
It was do fun! He would doge and run around... she wanted to try it all, like follow the leader! Of course, Gavivi was completely unaware that there were any traps in the area, and would probably do so at any time. Not that she would have cared much, even if she did. Gavivi was a force to be reckoned with, and with no master to tell her to stop... no one would make her. But what did happen when her foot finally slipped inside one of the jackel's traps?
He was nearing a good patch of traps now. He could only hope that the lioness was dumb enough to follow him through the 'mine' field. No there were no explosives here, that was beyond what a jackal could do. But there were small holes that had a cleaver sharp stick in bedded in each of them. Junichi was cleaver where he stepped. From far away it was hard to tell where they were but if you looked closely you could see the fresh dug up dirt. IT was like a dance. And he was free at last. He almost looked over to see how the lioness was fairing but didn't want to risk it. He doubted that would slow her down enough for him to watch from the side lines.
"You're funny little dog thing!" She called out, grinning a little as she tore off after him, "I want to-" She paused a moment as her foot went through something, snapping onto some broken branches. She growled angrily, lifting up her paw and snarling, "...That hurt little thing." She told him, flicking blood off as she kept in mind every move he made. She grabbed hold of one of the branches with her teeth and tore it from her paw, "Hurt me again little thing... and I'll hang around until I kill you. Little thing lives here. Little thing has traps. Little thing is bad..." Her claws dung into the ground as she sprung forward, her eyes turning furious as she went after him, "Little thing stays bad and little thing is a dead thing!"
Junichi was glad he didn't stick around and watch cause now she was mad. Yeah, if she got ahold of him now he didn't want to think what would happen. Thats when the jackal ducked through the tall grass. Not only was it tall and good to hide in for some one of his height, there werel little snares set up. Not by the jackals but poachers. a lion of her size wouldn't be slowed down by something like that though. Junichi weaved his way through avoiding the traps as he went. He was almost to saftey. Almost to a den that she wouldn't be able to fit into. Hopefully this would be enough.
The jackal sure hoped it would be enough.

Gavivi followed him into the long grass. Her paws were bloody, but she was pissed now, and she really wanted the little thing killed. She did not like being hurt quite at all. No. No this would not do. Had to kill little dog thing. Or lie to master. Tell him she had... and she didn't want to lie to master. She loved Master. He was her friend. Plus, she wasn't very good at lying.
The jackal was home free as soon as he escaped the grass. The tunnel was a sight for sore eyes and well hidden. The jackal quickly took shelter in the small tunnel and quitely stayed there. The pack lands were covered in these small 'safe houses'. There was no way the lioness was going to find him. Plus a good bit of the tunnels were connected. If she had seen him slip in this tunnel then he could easily move to one of the hundreds laying about. Anansi and Bura were a little more then paranoid. Juni didn't mind, he was too. Thank god for the wise tall ones. The jackal was starting to see the advantages of this silly pack as he laid low in his tunnel.
Gavivi stamped around the grass, roaring in a blind fury as she stomped down on everything in sight, "I'll kill you little dog thing! I'll kill you and all your little dog thing friend!" She tore into the ground, ripping grass out by every strand she could find, and clearing a great deal of it. Though she didn't find the jackel, she found quite a few holes which she was all too quick to fill in by kicking them in, getting dirt in her wounds as she did so. She didn't care much now. She was berserk and had lost her temper... and when she was finally done, she took a deep breath and looked over the destruction she had brought down on the tiny place. She took a deep breath and then she smiled, "...there we go, little thing. Maybe I didn't catch you... but I destroyed your little home... and maybe I'll come back. Maybe not today... maybe not tomorrow... but I'll come back and I'll destroy you little thing... and it's gunna be fun when I do."
Junichi was safe, it seemed she had destroyed a great bit of their fields grass, but there territory was larger then just that. The male had not taken her into the heart of the pack. Mainly because he feared what Anansi would do to him if he brought an enraged lioness back. The jackal coughed , the dirt had gotten into his hole too. But there were others he could get out of. He'd wait a good bit before 'escaping'. He was sure that Bura and Anansi would have him fix the traps and the holes in the morning. Great, the stupid lioness had added a whole days worth of work to his agenda. His ears folded back as he started off toward the heart land.
