This is a private RP between Kyung [Koco Pelli] and Bataar [Kayakurai].

Setting:
A high-end teahouse.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:24 pm

Bataar was beginning to attract attention from the teahouse staff and customers alike as he stalked, cat-like, around the lovely teahouse. He glowered threateningly at anyone who threw him a look and made sure they saw his muscles, as well as his unique boots; that was enough to scare most any Lunarian away, after all, which also meant that he wasn't about to get kicked out.

The primitive adolescent had been trying to think for himself, after all. Certainly his parents supported the Nobles, but why should he? Bataar hated politics and that meant that he didn't have a clue about the side he was cheering for or why he'd chosen to cheer for them. He'd been firm in his decision until he'd chosen to start attending the Academy and had been thrust into the Imperial City where every nuance of life seemed differ from the rural communities he was so accustomed to.

The Lunarian let out a small huff of frustration, scowling at a petrified-looking patron as he paused to scuff the shining wooden floor with his boot. He was a peasant and certainly wasn't at all used to all the costly embellishments that now surrounded him; everything in here seemed so... breakable, people and all. On the lowest level, it made Bat nervous, but that in turn made the adolescent angry.

"Che," Bataar made the noise in his throat, practically pawing a delicate pink vase with his eyes, his hands fisting and unfisting as he fought the temptation to smash it on the floor. He was pretty sure he could escape unscathed if he gave in to the impulse, but that wasn't going to get him anywhere and he really did need to make some personal progress today. Besides that, if he were caught he might have to pay for the vase and he had a feeling it cost more than his yurt and all of his belongings combined.

As usual, Kyung was oblivious to the situation around him. From the moment he had walked in, he had caught sight of ten or so pairs of beady little eyes glaring holes into him for fouling the establishment. This tea shop was a place for only Nobles. It was quite evident from the outrageous prices listed in the menu and the ostentatious decor of the shop. The ceiling was gilt with paper gold and the furniture was made of rare black pine. It was only for nobles. Not nobles as in one of two divisions for the war, but nobles, as in the rich and famous.

By theory Kyung was a noble, in actuality he was perhaps of lower social class than a commoner. It was to be expected. He didn't mind so much. While it came with many disadvantages, it came with many advantages as well. For one, he was free to do as he wished. Money was not a problem and he wasn't expected to marry another noble girl. Rather, who would marry him? But enough on that, he was here for another reason.

For quite some time now, he had been hearing praise about this tea shop and their exquisite Dian hong tea. Kyung had finally taken it upon himself to see if it was as good as the rumors said. Being an avid fan of tea and tea ceremony in general, he found himself much more excited than he needed to be. Upon seeing the shop's server with a small plate with a azure porcelain teapot and matching cup, the Lunarian let out a pleased smile. He was quite excited.

Rolling up his sleeves, Kyung gently unwrapped the mass of black coils around his left wrist and placed it on his shoulder. The coils shivered before crawling into his shirt and resting a dainty head on Kyung's collar bone. The snake, Nemu, stuck out her tongue and gave off a lazy hiss. Somewhat irritated about having been moved from her favorite spot, she bit his ear lightly before disappearing down his robe.

As soon as the server had set down the plate, Kyung rushed them away from his table. This was it. The moment he had been waiting for. A drink of his Dian hong! He picked up the tea pot by the handle with a dainty hand, and poured it to into the cup. The aroma was exquisite. Trust a shop like this to use the finest of ingredients.

As Kyung sat there mesmerized by his pot of tea, the male failed to see two hulking figures approaching his table. Simply from the hideous expression on their faces one could tell that they spelled trouble.

Bataar continued his march around the cultivated teahouse once he'd decided the vase wasn't worth his time. In reality, he needed to walk around so that he wouldn't feel too tempted to grab and smash any of the ornamentation surrounding him. Surprisingly, the well-built adolescent wasn't at all tempted to actually steal any of the fine decorations; Bat simply didn't see the appeal in such material things. He didn't mind being poor; he just minded other people being rich, was all. Some people's wealth could be counted in larger numbers than Bataar had ever been able to wrap his head around.

The Lunarian trotted along, peering into the small ornamented booths as he went, halting as his green eyes came into contact with... her. She was slender and delicate and Bataar found himself staring a hole into the back of the girl's head. His mother would have hated her, he found himself thinking absently. He'd always been encouraged to pick a woman with strong legs, aka thunder thighs, but Bat was carefully constructing justifications and counterarguments in his mind. He found himself wishing they were on the steppes so he could just net her, steal her, and be over with it but this was probably a far more delicate situation.

Bataar's reverie was soon interrupted, however, when two men shouldered past him and nearly knocked him off his feet, which was hardly a simple thing to do considering his build. The adolescent's eyes narrowed and he cursed violently, snatching the back of one of the mans' shirts. "How dare you! Don't try me!" He declared roughly, looking beyond pissed off.

"And where d'you think you're go-- HEY, I SAW HER FIRST." He yelled demonically, another string of curses passing his lips. He gave up on trying to stop the men and decided instead to dart in the general direction of his new woman and snatch her up to hide her away-- maybe he'd go for a grope or two in the process. What Bat didn't know was that the so-called girl he was after was, in fact, Kyung; a guy.

Tian Bao, the noble's late nurse clicked her tongue as she watched the youth dressed in red stalk around the tea house like a jaguar looking for his next prey.

"That one is certainly out of his depth in a tea house like this. Look! Look at the way he is dressed! Like a commoner! I bet he is a commoner! They talk of Kyung sullying this establishment eh? WELL THEY SHOULD THROW OUT THAT HOOLIGAN FIRST!"

Beside her, the scholarly Inden commented his own thoughts. Though he did agree with her, he thought that the other two hulking gorillas coming this way were more dangerous.

"While I must agree that his behavior is most unbecoming, I believe those two men pose more of a danger than that young man. Look at the way the are coming towards our young master with such unpleasant look on their faces. It is one of pleasure but a crude one at that."

The nurse blanched. At times it was hard to believe Inden had once been a renown scholar and chancellor. However, what happened next left her speechless until it was too late for her young one.

Kyung was in the process of lifting the cup up to his lips, rather adept at blocking out the comments of his dead companions when he saw it fit, he was caught by surprise when he suddenly found himself lifted up in the air by strong muscular arms and he felt the heat rise to his face. It was not of embarrassment but of inexplicable irritation. His cup of Dian hong on the ground with its content spreading across the floor. Wasted even before he could try the first sip.

Controlling the animosity that was seeping into his speech, he spoke. It was certainly hostile but more like frigid ice. Enough to cut through even the most brute of men and scare them. If he had seemed beautiful to Bataar earlier, then one could only hope Bataar now find Kyung terrifying.

"What do you think you are doing?"

It didn't help his mood that the occupants of the tea house were laughing at the whole scene. A good laugh. Kyung the emotionless being mistaken for a woman and being held by that stalking fool from earlier.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 08, 2010 2:49 pm

Bataar was far more concerned about stowing away his new prize than he was about dealing with the two men that had been approaching the slender creature. Still, Kyung's unexpectedly cold tone was surprisingly like a knife; it was nothing like the gentle, lilting voice the burly youth had been expecting. Besides that, it was becoming increasingly clear that his so-called woman was hardly female; his chest was a little too flat.

A few more well-placed gropes was proof enough for Bataar that he might have half a mind to drop Kyung on the floor and run for it, but he'd made his decision and was already too invested in his plan.

"H--hey! I'm trying to save you!" Bat protested, trying to sound like something of the menace he was although Kyung's intimidating timbre had flustered the well-built Lunarian to some extent. He was now attempting to figure out how to pin the blame on the delicate youth he had in his arms now; maybe he could make a point if he declared that, besides looking womanly, Kyung had simply been acting too defenseless. That argument had potential, after all, if he wasn't punished or arrested for his crass behavior.

He grimaced and ducked, nearly caught off-guard by a swing made by one of the brutes that had forced him to grab Kyung up and promptly started running off, his boots pounding on the lacquered wood, jostling the displeased Noble in the process.

Bataar ducked into a small alcove, still clutching onto his botched prize, eyeing him critically. "Let's get this straight--DEAR TENGRI, YOU'VE GOT A SNAKE ON YOU!" The commoner immediately threw Kyung to the floor, deciding he was a little more concerned for his own safety. After all, he wasn't at all used to snakes on the cold steppe where his clan had been from. He liked his animals, sure, but he and snakes hadn't exactly made friends yet and he'd heard many of them were poisonous. There was just no way he, the great Bataar, was going to die from a measly little snake bite.

While Kyung had gone through all sorts of embarrassing and humiliating acts, he found being fondled by another man the most unbearable. For once, he detested his feminine appearance. When younger, he had spent the days consoling himself by looking in the mirror and comparing himself to his half-sisters. That even though he lacked the muscle and brawn of his father and half-brothers, he made the women of the Guem estate green with envy every time he walked by. Kyung was mentally preparing himself to verbally abuse this one, only to stop when he heard the other's words.

"H--hey! I'm trying to save you!"

Save him? From what? Oh... then he saw them. Xiao Qiu and Xiao Long, the brutes that belonged to his beloved mother. He felt himself oddly apathetic towards the two hulking men who, on their faces made no attempt to hide the pleasure they felt at the thought of hurting the blue Lunarian. Kyung, lacking the physical prowess and endurance that was common in other males, found himself clutching onto the other tighter in terror when he saw the fist coming towards him. Amazing. He was seeing Xiao Qiu's hairy fist come at his face in slow motion. The male shut his eyes, preparing for a world of pain. Instead, he felt a rush of air that sent his hair fluttering. Opening his eyes, he noticed that his savior had ducked just in time. Perhaps... this one wasn't so bad after all.

Kyung was quiet as the other carried him into a small alcove. Having simmered down the irritation and fury from before, he was about to thank the other for saving him when he suddenly found the burly red Lunarian yelling and himself being thrown down on the floor.

"Let's get this straight--DEAR TENGRI, YOU'VE GOT A SNAKE ON YOU!"

Bataar's outburst was followed by a rather gruesome crack as Kyung collided against the floor. Clutching his wrist, the blue one let out a cry of pain. It had to broken, this amount of pain could not be explained unless it was broken. He knew that for a split second, all of his weight had fallen on his wrist while he had shifted his body to avoid falling on Nemu. Resisting the tears that were forming at the corners of his eyes, Kyung bit his lower lip and held his arm close. He could hear his companion's worried cries. Or rather, mostly Tian Bao's worried cries.

"AHH! My baby! Your wrist must be broken! You must be in such pain. If I were still alive, that uncultured thing would have seen me live up to my name of the Green Whirlwind! Does it hurt? Ohhhh... that infuriating ape! Ruining what precious moment you were about to have with your tea and then going as far as to break your wrist! Why I ought to-"

Inden, the more practical, proceeded to shut the nurse up.

"You are not helping Tian Bao. Now give the young master some time so he may recover himself."

Kyung whimpered as his snake, Nemu, wrapped herself around his tender wrist. It wasn't what he was going for but her cool body was certainly better than nothing. She rubbed the smooth inky scales on the top of her head against his thumb as if to say everything was alright.

The sound forced Bataar to regret his impulsive behavior even before he could fully register what had happened. The Lunarian sucked in a startled breath, crouching carefully next to the other male, wincing in remorse at his whimpers. Okay, now he was actually beginning to feel kind of guilty. Bat wasn't terribly deficient in the feeling of guilt, but it was certainly rare when he actually decided to show it.

"...I didn't mean to!" The maroon Lunarian glanced warily over to Nemu, grimacing. "I mean-- will you be okay?" He cautiously extended his finger to poke Kyung's cheek gently, uncertainty flickering in his green eyes.

Bat wasn't a complete idiot, after all. He knew full well when he really managed to mess things up, and this seemed to be one of those exact situations. "Do you want my wristband?" Bataar babbled, pulling off one of his furry cuffs and offering it to Kyung, looking genuinely worried. As far as he was concerned, he now owed a lot more than a simple commoner's wristband to Kyung, but Bat wasn't at all sure how to even express that idea. He believed in repayment as opposed to apologies, but he might want to edge away from that idea if he'd angered this Noble particularly badly.

"But--I mean-- did you see those guys? It could've been worse, right? You could've had your neck broken!" Bat stuttered nervously, without the slightest clue about how he might fix up Kyung's wrist. He knew he was all but blubbering now, but he knew it was his fault and if his mother ever found out he ditched someone he'd accidentally injured-- well, in this particular case, it was all too plausible that Bat might mysteriously get his own wrist broken.

Nemu let out an unusually aggressive hiss when the maroon Lunarian neared Kyung. Coiled around Kyung's wrist, the inky reptile watched with unblinking eyes. Under normal circumstances, Nemu was a rather docile, lazy thing. Preferring to keep herself wrapped around Kyung's wrist or the large cozy pocket located in his sleeve. For the most part, she lacked fangs and at her relatively small size, she was quite harmless. In fact, it was a wonder why Kyung even bothered to keep the snake and if they did know, well... more than one Lunarian would do everything in their power to take the snake from Kyung. Nemu, in her own right, was just as special as her master, if not more desirable to others.

Watching Bataar's finger near Young's cheek, the snake let out a spitting sound and finally sank her jaws around Bataar's finger when it made contact with Kyung's cheek. It wasn't painful, more like sticking one's finger between a clothespin at best. Releasing her grip on Bataar's finger as he pulled back, the snake hissed at him and slithered under Kyung's silk blue robe.

Slowly sitting up, Kyung glared at Bataar through lush, tear-brimmed lashes. He was angry and the commoner's blabbering were doing little to ease his mood. Not that Inden or Tian Bao were helping much either.

"Don't touch me. I don't want your stuff either. And yes I am aware of Xiao Qiu and Xiao Long. At most they would have given several nasty bruises. Not a broken wrist."

There was much spite in that last sentence. Kyung had to admit, his behavior was childish. There was no need for him to get so upset with a broken wrist except that it was his left wrist. It just so happened that this one write with his left hand, and his love, the Geomungo was an instrument that required both hands.

Letting out a sigh, Kyung massaged his temple. He was tired. He wanted to be home. If his father knew that he had snuck out for a cup of tea then he would get reprimanded rather severely. Of course, with a broken wrist... it would be impossible for his father not to know either. Knowing his father, he would probably put Kyung under house arrest, take a month off work and spend the hours with Kyung to make sure the youth didn't have another one of his little escapades again. Worst of all, Kyung found himself lacking the energy to even stand up. Looking at Bataar, the male spoke once more.

He felt sorry for yelling at him and for letting his emotions get the better of him. He could always order tea again.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you. You did try to help me. Please just take me home."

Kyung winced as Tian Bao roared in anger. Even Inden flinched. It was good that Murasaki was not present at the moment. Thought, it was best to say the one who suffered the most was Nemu who took to writhing in discomfort inside the pocket of Kyung's sleeve.

"YOU'RE JUST GONNA LET HIM TAKE YOU HOME? HE OUGHT TO BE WHIPPED! HANGED! PUNISHED FOR HIS ACTIONS! LOOK AT YOU! HE BROKE YOUR WRIST!!! YOU CAN'T EVEN PLAY THE GEOMUNGO! WHAT KIND OF BLASPHEMY IS THIS YOUNG MASTER?"

In a moment of confusion, Kyung forgot about Bataar and addressed Tian Bao without discretion.

"Tian Bao, I understand you are upset. But I have reached my limit for today. My arm requires treatment and I rest. Do not drag this out longer than it needs to be. He has already apologized and my wrist is broken only because I landed so on it. Now control yourself lest Inden goes home and tells Murasaki of your disgraceful behavior."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 3:18 am

Bataar recoiled when the snake bit him, lifting his finger to eye-level to examine the tiny wound. The small chomp had been just enough to make him hurl a considerable aggregate of curses in the general direction of Nemu once the snake had disappeared into the blue Lunarian's robe. He paused in his tirade, however, when Kyung sat up and fixed him with a glare.

He cringed at the audible spite, trying to compose his face into an expression of innocence. "Well, you landed wrong... plus you have a snake." Bat mumbled under his breath, half to himself, looking not unlike a reprimanded child.

After all, it was okay to act this way with the ladies-- especially the cute ones. Despite his anatomical knowledge of Kyung, Bataar had decided that the blue-robed Lunarian had to have been a woman. Certainly, his conclusion probably had a lot to do with the fact that he'd decided to grab the other male up in the first place, but Bat also thought that Kyung looked surprisingly girly-- too girly to be a guy.

Bat slipped on his fur cuff again, purposely choosing to wallow in guilt for the sake of Kyung's benefit. He felt himself brighten as he registered the apology. "That's alright! I always try to help pretty young ladies like you." The red-costumed youth hoisted the Noble into his arms, trying to be much more careful this time around and hoping that the despicable little snake wouldn't pop out and bite him again.

The youth hadn't even heard the faint, fuzzy noises, not that he would have figured out what they were in the first place. As Kyung started speaking again, Bat was almost tempted to drop him again and run for it.

"Uh, Miss, who are you talking to?" Bataar inquired meekly, hoping against hope that he wasn't going to be the victim of another spiteful barrage of words.

Inden snorted at Bataar. While he had to commend Bataar's noble attempt at saving Kyung from the two gorilla Lunarians, it seemed every time the maroon Lunarian spoke, he did a swell job of chiseling away at the small fragment of respect the scholar had for him.

"Even after violating the young master he refuses to accept your gender. The only other explanation I have for his stupidity is that he has been thoroughly captivated by your feminine appearance. Not only that, he is afraid of a snake."

Tian Bao let out a hiss as Bataar picked up Kyung once more. Though she refrained from speaking, it was obvious from the chill emanating from beside Bataar that the dead nurse was not pleased. Not at all.

Kyung let out a sigh as Bataar called him miss. How troublesome. Even worse than the young nobles who came to his father's house seeking the 'young lady of blue.' Though they continued to visit and hope to see him, they had at least accepted his gender. A stubborn one with a vocabulary that would make even the gods turn their head in disgrace. Certainly not the type of Lunarian a refined man such as himself could handle.

When Bataar spoke once more, this time albeit timidly, Kyung found himself oddly amused. Yet, he spoke as if he didn't hear the other's inquiry regarding who Kyung had been speaking with.

"Please do not call me miss. Or lady. I assure you that I am most certainly a male. Even if you, yourself refuse to believe me. I find it rather insulting really. I already have a broken wrist, I don't want to go home with a bruised ego as well."

Brushing off some of the dirt and dust on his clothes, he spoke once more.

"Now then. I shall kindly request that you take me home before you do me anymore bodily harm. I shall direct you to estate unless Inden decides to bring my father here."

"Which is something I have no intention of doing young master. Unfortunately, while I admire the big one's effort in saving you, his comments have made me aware that he lacks the required intellect to keep you safe."

"Which he had decided that he will not. Take me to the noble's estates."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 4:30 pm

Bataar blinked, looking disoriented after having his question ignored altogether by the slender blue Lunarian. Of course, the well-muscled youth forgot almost completely about the odd occurrence as he tried to register Kyung's words. He was, however, trying his hardest not to listen, letting the smaller Lunarian's speech go in one ear and out the other. It didn't work well for Bat.

He could hardly prevent his outburst. "It's not so bad being a girl, is it?" He demanded, defensive of his own conclusions. Bat simply wasn't ready or willing to consider that Kyung just might be a male. He hated being disproven, besides, and he'd decided well over five minutes ago that Kyung was, in fact, female.

Bat wasn't sure who Inden was and he wasn't terribly certain he wanted to ask; he hadn't drawn any intelligent conclusions about Kyung's enigmatic conversations quite yet and with his thick skull it wasn't like that he would any time soon. The rough adolescent tended to leave oddities just as they were most of the time because, put simply, his lack of intelligence was astoundingly high. It went further than simple illiteracy, too; many had decided that Bat had been dropped on his head one time too many as a child once they'd come into association with the brawny teenager.

"Okay. Let's go!" Bataar declared eagerly, trotting towards the entrance of the teahouse and actually making an attempt not to jostle Kyung. He'd decided that maybe if he was nice enough he'd be forgiven by the little lady(whom he refused to refer to as male).

"nice" for Bataar was still particularly rude to everyone else, but he hoped his efforts would be recognized by the Noble he was now carrying about.

The Lunarian grimaced as he tried to consider some plausible small talk; he'd never been good with casual words, but it seemed appropriate given his situation. Besides, Bat had some sounding friendly to do. "I'm Bataar." He choked out, his eyes locking onto Kyung as he tried to figure out if that was, indeed, the right thing to say. Of course, he was cursing in his head; the great Bataar hardly deserved to have to do something as vile as acting considerate.

Kyung couldn't tell if the maroon Lunarian was just obstinate or plain deaf. Or maybe he was just trying to be funny. Which he wasn't if that was Bataar's intention. He considered the thought of trying to correct the other again but decided against it. The maroon one would probably ignore him and continue on with calling Kyung a girl. Not to mention Kyung lacked the energy to dispute with the other any further and just the thought of arguing with the burly male left Kyung mentally exhausted.

Reaching into the pocket of his sleeve, he stroked the top of Nemu's head lovingly. The scales on the top of her head were an iridescent black and flat. Cool and smooth to the touch, Kyung even let out a slight chuckle as she tickled the tip of his thumb with her tongue.

Hearing Bataar introduce himself, Kyung let out a slight sigh. The last thing he wanted was to reveal his name and then have this Bataar person to mess it up as well. Yet, to refrain from introducing himself would be just as rude. Bataar had taken the initiative to introduce himself first, it was only customary that Kyung would respond back. No matter how grudgingly he did it.

"My name is Kyung."

There was no room for conversation or small talk. Kyung was absorbed in his own thoughts, he could care less how awkward it was for Bataar. He had to keep himself distracted in order to prevent the humiliation of being carried again in public from overwhelming him. Kyung would simply get his own revenge back at all those who laughed at him. He would ensure it.

"You are looking for an estate by the name of Geum Hanok Dang."

Bataar should have no problem finding it. It would be written in a wooden panel in gold lettering with the Tae family crest underneath it. It was impossible to miss if one could read.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 5:50 pm

Bataar looked relieved as Kyung introduced himself in turn and nodded, still walking along at a good pace in what was hopefully the correct direction. "Kyung." He pronounced the name, figuring that it might be acceptable in this situation. Bat was hardly well-versed in delicacy or social skills and so he was having to apply most of his limited intelligence to figuring out what norms he was supposed to know.

What to say now? It was a hard call. "My name means 'hero'; because, you know, I kind of saved you." The addition seemed more than appropriate to Bat, whose mother often tried to remind him of his namesake so that he might follow it in going along with the cause of the Nobles.

Bat let loose a huff of frustration as he tried to deliberate on any other infuriating topics such as the weather and failed. Why did people even bother with that, anyway? The maroon Lunarian couldn't comprehend why most people just didn't get to the point; having conversation short and sweet was better than dragging it out and convoluting all meaning and intention, as least in Bataar's (very small, with only pictures, for sure)book.

He listened as Kyung directed him and paused dumbly in the street."Where's that?" He asked blankly, without even the slightest idea as to the location of the estate. Besides this, Bat was illiterate. Learning to read had never seemed terribly important to the youth and even if he'd been given much of a chance it wasn't likely that he would have prioritized his efforts to learn.

Kyung found himself chuckling when he heard Bataar's next comment.

'My name means 'hero'; because, you know, I kind of saved you.'

Covering the lower half of face with his perfumed royal blue silk sleeve, the male continued to laugh. Amazing, he found himself unable to stop laughing. He felt bad for laughing at the maroon Lunarian, but Bataar's comment was simply too amusing.

"You are mistaken. Your name does not mean 'hero' because you saved me. Your mother named you 'hero' in hopes that you would become one. Your namesake has nothing to do with me."

Inden frowned, unamused with Kyung's behavior. It was a noble's job to look after the commoner, not to make fun of them. This was one mantra that the scholar had instilled into Kyung many years ago, it was a shame the boy did not seem to remember it now.

"You are being rude Kyung. He is trying to talk to you. You did not have to make fun of his mistake."

Hearing Inden's comment, Kyung quickly amended himself.

"I apologize. My intentions are not to make fun of you Bataar. My name, Kyung, means 'honored.' However, I cannot say that I am honored to meet you. I was named thus because I am a memento of my mother to my father."

It was said without spite. The blue Lunarian was being genuine in his comment about not making fun of Bataar. He could even feel a small smoldering flame of embarrassment at being reprimanded by Inden. Kyung was not one to flaunt his knowledge openly. He knew better. Murasaki and Inden had spent many years trying to teach that to him when he was younger. Nevertheless, Kyung was flabbergasted when Bataar stopped dumbfounded about finding his home.

"You mean to tell me you don't know the layout of the city?"

Kyung chewed on his lower lip as he thought for a moment. All hope was not lost. He could still direct Bataar with street names. Though a thought in the back of his head hinted at the possibility that the probability of Bataar being able to read was very low.

"How long have you been in the Imperial City Bataar? You... you can read yes?"
