User ImageNeither leopardess had been so far from the jungle where they had grown up as they were right now. These were foreign lands and them foreign in it.

Everything about contrasting twins spoke of just how polar opposite they were. A dark figure that stuck out menacingly against the pale dryness of the savannah stood a good few inches taller than her meek sibling, her frame honed with more bulky sinew. That was Sagasu. A proud, fearless and challenging young female as wild and untamed as the landscape around her. At her side, looking ever so small and feeble was a much more petite and sleek, powder white creature who nearly dragged her belly on the ground as she crouched low. Body alert. Muscles twitching as rapidly as her ears and nose at all the unfamiliar scents and sounds that surrounded them. This timid and self conscious little lady was Himeru.

Life on the open plains was a drastic change from the dense cover of the tropical forests the pair hailed from, where a hiding place was always to be found just around the next corner. Here Hime felt naked and vulnerable and it didn't help that the wildlife that resided in the area were much larger than she was accustomed to. A soft yip of horror spilling from her maw in alarm as her rambunctious twin ran through the stilt-like legs of an enormously tall beast she didn't recognize. Sagasu! W-watch out!

Holy s**t! Look at the legs on that thing! We could live off one of those for months! The tactless leopardess commented laughingly causing her companion to wince as the spotted stranger snorted defensively at the rude statement.

Sa-Sagasu... really, j-just because its head is in the clouds, that doesn't mean it can't hear you. Exasperated sibling tried to keep pace with prancing form while offering an apologetic expression over her shoulder at the odd herbivore. Saga was surely going to get them both killed with her big mouth.

Crying out in surprise when she stumbled over a hollow, deteriorating old log Hime's gaze had still been focused warily on the disgruntled Giraffe they had just passed. Too preoccupied to notice the object rearing towards her. Pulling her dirt-crusted pink nose from the ground she sneezed repeatedly, swatting at her now dusty face with a bleak sigh. It took her several moments to realize that her reckless sister was already several yards ahead, having found something new to antagonize. Her maw twisted into a frown of displeasure, jumping skittishly at the grunt of a nearby water buffalo and quickly slinking along to catch up.

I'm starving, you think we can eat this thing? An impish curiosity touched the edge of Saga's voice where a deviant grin cut the corners of her maw while tangling with a quickly-growing-impatient warthog.

Sagaaaasu, come back here! Leave that thing alone! I think I saw a rabbit hole back there somewhere. Pleading trill beckoned from a safe distance, attempting to lure the other with the temptation of an easy meal. Himeru should have known better than that by now. Sagasu seemed to insist on doing everything the hard way. Watching with an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach as rich colored female danced out of reach of a scything tusk just in time to avoid being gored. Her delighted laughter ringing across the plains. Heaven help Himeru. Those watching must have surely thought her twin mentally challenged.

Whoaa hoho! Temper, temper! The prey here are far more aggressive than back home. I think I'mma like this place! Such easy going words yet somehow they weighed heavily on the leucistic leopardess' chest. She could feel the thin hope that her twin might reconsider this adventure and return to the forests they knew fading in the face of Saga's delight and she could do nothing more than smile and be lead.
