So I Was Thinking....

Basically, A rogue in there guild and main raid team was using certain Eng bomb and it was causing LK and a few of his mobs too freak out, Blizzard saw this as abuse and banned the raid, Removed there achievements and gear.

So I ask you, Is this fair seeing as it was Blizzard that screwed up or is it "Ensidia"'s Fault?

Blizzard makes numerous mistakes. Most of them are not in our favor. We often deal with extreme lag, DC issues, login issues, bosses switching to hardmode when engaged, etc. as a direct result of Blizzard screw ups.

But whenever they do make a mistake that ends up being in a player's favor, Blizzard bans the player. I don't think that's fair.

I could understand if Blizzard wanted to take back the title, achievement, and loot. But it probably should have been done with an apology. "So sorry, we're taking back this stuff because the fight was bugged..." type of thing. But to ban players for a Blizzard error seems totally unfair and uncalled for after all the money players pay and all the negative screw ups that we endure.

Assuming they didn't do it on purpose (which is up for debate, it seems), then I agree they got the raw end of the stick. Even more so if they end up getting locked out from this week's attempts, and thus lose the chance at downing Hard Mode the first week it effectively becomes available.

I think that discovering what amounts to a glitch in the game, then exploiting said glitch, deserves banning. They could have done the right thing, and reported the glitch, and not exploit it. But they had to manipulate it. They should have known that was a glitch, and if they didn't, I question the intelligence of this "girls can't raid" guild. Arthas has been fought on beta. They knew how the fight was supposed to go. I don't know the strat yet, but from what I heard, arthas destroys the floor under you, and apparently saronite bombs glitch the floor back in place, or slow it down, or something. I assume that this glitch was not part of what was learned about the lich king fight from testing. "Normal DPS rotation" or not, if I was on a brand new boss fight, and noticed that, say, my arcane blasts were causing the fight to become extremely easy, when I knew for sure from the beta testing that it was NOT supposed to do that, I would respec to something other than arcane, and switch my dps rotation so as to not trigger an unanticipated glitch.

Also, for all we know, Ensidia could've discovered this glitch on PTR, and set the rogue to using saronite bombs in every fight to make it look normal. I honestly have no idea why saronite bombs are useful in a dps rotation..... could someone explain?

I'm going to agree with Blizzard on this one. It may not have been the best call in this particular instance, but Ensidia had it coming.

Ensidia has a history of abusing bugs or doing what they would call "clever use of game mechanics". Then, after they beat the boss, they report it to Blizzard (so they can be treated as 'heros' by the slavering buffoons who worship the ground they walk on). Blizzard fixes the mistake, and the doors of competition are often shut behind Ensidia. Hodir hard mode is one such example.

Don't be fooled - they were well aware of the bug. They did the encounter on 10man first, like other top guilds, to master the fight before using attempts on 25man. Did they know the bombs were to blame? That's debatable - and they haven't released a video to prove their innocence, or that they didn't use the bombs knowingly rebuilding the platform, unless I've missed it. They realized that the Val'kyrs were not dropping people over the ledge, because the ledge was being rebuilt.

Finally, whether or not it was right, it HAD to be done. Why? Because Exodus was banned for something similar on Yogg+0, and the backlash was horrendous with people complaining about the unfairness of the ban, favoring EU over US, the fact that Ensidia never gets anything more than a slap on the wrist for the things they pull, etc. If they hadn't given Ensidia the same treatment, the bias would have been more than obvious.

I think I read that it did maybe 20k more damage done over the course of that fight - pretty insignificant. I do more than that with two lightning bolts. But min/maxers still see it as an increase, if small, so that's why they supposedly use it.

Someone brought up that you'd probably see the siege damage numbers appearing and know what was going on during the LK fight, so if that's the case it's about 99% likely that they knew the cause.

Judging by there forums, They are refusing too post the video of the fight, Claiming they need too too prove they are innocent, My guild attempted LK last night, Failed Horribly and if we knew about the bombs we most likely would have downed him.

So I do see why they were banned for this. Just I wish they would hurry up and admit they were in the wrong about it.

It's whatever. It's not that big of a deal, people exploited, and were banned. This stuff happens on a daily basis. Paragon, vodka, and blood legion are better anyways.

Paragon, Vodka and Blood Legion, are full of a**-hats and Elitists imo. I actually transferred off of a server that "Vodka" were playing on because they take control of the AH, They ruined the economy and wreck progressional raiding for every guild bar there own.

So no they are not better.

They are full of elitist a** hats. They are still better. The progression says so. The arena teams say so. Statistically, and as a guild, they have made farther progression, and are better. Ensidia may be "cooler" to you, but look whose banned right now for cheating and at 11/12, and look who is at 12/12 legit, and is raiding right now, and isnt banned. Paragon, vodka, and blood legion are better. And blood legion isn't full of asshats, they are cool. Kinda.

BL is full of a**-hats, Have you actually spoken with them in game?

As for being better in PvE and PvP? Uhh what? You do realize Ensidia and SK gaming are the same thing.

SK gaming are topping 2v2 3v3 and 5v5. So how are they better in PvP?

I dont think Ensidia are cooler by any regard, Hell they are Jerks, The thing is they don't mess with entire servers and ruin it for other players.

Paragon, V and BL are actually at 11/12, You might want too check your sources lol.

i, personally, never really cared about how big a guild is so which one has the biggest e-peen is completely lost on me. even when i was reading about it on wow.com all i could think was "who?"
if they didnt know about the bug, then sure they deserve some slack. but since the bug is why they got the achiev, yes it should be removed.
if they did it knowing full well about the bug then yeah the 3day ban and gear revoking is understandable.

i guess i'm jaded about known guilds. one of the most popular guilds on my server kicked me out after about a day because i said 'jesus ********' when i accidentally flight-pathed into the giant demon guy in north-east Hellfire Pen(cant remember his name but you had to do some Shattered Sun stuff there) and they were, apparently, an ultra-religious guild.

Uh...I see someone saying 'it was tested on the PTR'...no, it wasn't. Which is probably why this happened now, rather than being caught before it went live. Blizz didn't want anyone getting prepared for Arthas on the PTR, perhaps hoping he'd actually take a while to down.
Didn't work, but I'm pretty sure that was their intention.
