i decided that we needed something like a hangout thread. so let's talk about video games and movies!
what movie have you seen lately? i've seen the book of eli and legion. totally tired of the end of the world theme. but the book of eli was really good.
what is your latest video game? i'm about to start avalon code. i finished the instructions, and boy does it seem complex! also, i'm being tortured by my boyfriend. yes, he makes me watch the fatal frame series to help him with the puzzles. i swear, i see messed up girl faces flashing in the corners of my eye. totally lame! don't like ghosties! at least the story line is good.

I too wear glasses, but didn't have much trouble with the 3d glasses overtop them when I went to see the film. Nor did I the second time. Or the third. Or the fourth, even. Perhaps I have slimmer frames or something like that.

I saw Sherlock Holmes. It was okay, but I fell asleep for 20 mins in the middle of the movie (it was a long day). I want to see Book of Eli. It looks really good. I want to see The Crazies too. I live zombie type terror movies.

jessica fountain Is Avatar really that good question i was going to see it, but wasn't sure. my boyfriend saw it twice in the same week. i refused to go since i was tired of seeing greedy, scummy people movies. i have also informed him that we are not going to watch any more end of the world movies till 2020. so tired of them too. but yeah, avatar is suppose to be that good. esp if you see it at the imax

I saw Avatar a few weeks ago.
I might be going to see it again this week. SOGOOD!
Video games.. Hmm... I'm mostly just waiting for FF13 to come out (DAYAFTERMYBIRTHDAY OMGEPICTIMING) But for now I decided to pick up FF12 and actually beat it. xD
I've had it forever, and I got to like 85% done and just stopped playing becuase of business.

Hm, I've heard Avatar was great scenery-wise and CGI-wise, but... Story and dialogue? Not so much. 'Sides, I'd just go watch Pocahontas. Same story, no?
Frankly, though, I'm excited for the new Alice in Wonderland movie. Extremely excited, despite its inaccuracies. heart

As of late? I've seen Avatar, which was like visual sex (huh...weird analogy...), and Sherlock Holmes, which was just flat out fantastic.
I only got to see Avatar once, seeing as it's on the long side and doesn't fit into a busy schedule. But I did get to see Holmes...four, five times? It was that good. I'd see it again if anyone would still go with me >>
Video games? Well, my gaming time lately has been devoted to Dragon Age, which is a freakin' awesome game. But I cut into that yesterday and decided to play flOw. flOw is...more like reaching Nirvana than actually playing a video game. Playing it is probably one of the most relaxing things I've ever done. Makes me wanna take a nice nap.
I've also been gearing up to play Assassin's Creed (late on the uptake, I know...). Any opinions on it?

It isn't so much cringe worthy as it is hilariously bad. Potent combination, jujubes, making the Colonel pretty again, it's all great stuff. And, of course, there's the delightfully horrible character of Colonel Quaritch. He and Norm are perhaps the most enjoyable characters, having some of the best so-bad-it's-funny lines. The lead, however, just has plain bad lines, in addition to his humorously slim legs. Come to think of it, if Quaritch is an analog to the villain from Pocahontas, I'd really love to see a Gaston analog for the sequel.

Maybe I will see it, then, if only for the bad dialogue. whee That would be epic. X'D
