TL;DR I ROLEPLAY GOOD AND AM HAPPY TO HELP.
This is a formal greeting and introduction. A few of you may have seen me harassing the UnderGaia Chatterbox, and recently introduced a new character in the World Above forum. You can call me Jamie, zloi, or Meddle.
I am one of the mods appointed by the illustrious Sere to keep order in the forums. If you check the Rules, FAQ and Staff Info post, you'll see that roleplays are my only shift. All the other mods generally pull more weight in the guild than I do. I suspect because they have more general Drow knowledge and, ah, I admit, passion than I do. So!.
I realise that I haven't had much... or any real presence as a mod in this guild. I am a lazy, lazy person. But I've spent a week doing useful things and on two hours of sleep a night, I have come back feeling refreshed and inspired. I know, there is something wrong with me. So, this is me, you know, making my presence felt and whatnot.
My department will be roleplay technicalities. There are so many mods here who are crazy helpful and seem to have countless source information memorised who would be more than happy to help out on a cultural point, but if you are having trouble in the more nitty-gritty rules department, or just general roleplay rather than in character points, I would be very happy to help.
As you can see, I am a happy person who takes ages to get to the point of a conversation. I am generally friendly and approachable. But if you ******** up the roleplay forums I will come down on you with my Almighty Teaching Newspaper and you will regret being born. Let me make this clear: I am not here to judge or assess your character, characterisation, writing or storytelling ability. I am here to make sure that the rules of each unique thread are followed and treated with respect, and likewise for the general roleplay rules of the guild. I'm not going to go roaring up to you if you make a mistake, smacking you around like a ragdoll. For the most part, I will encourage thread creators to assert their authority in their own threads, but sometimes douchebags who don't have a clue turn up, and in that case, feel free to ask me for help. I will be civil to the rule breaker in question, and while I can be a hard a** b***h, I'm pretty experienced at thread modding and can draw the line between strict and psychotic.
One of my major stomping grounds is probably going to be the Shadowsun thread, since a major part of that is the slave market. Slaves are an integral part of drow culture, but they can be tricky to roleplay. If you have a slave character; just because your character has minimal or no control over their circumstances doesn't mean that you don't get to decide what happens to them. No one likes a puppeteer. >C
I'm going to open this thread to general complaints (if that's alright, more experienced mods), but if anyone has a more private issue or just something they don't feel comfortable sharing publicly, I have turned my PMs back on.
To repeat: while I will not ever be the go to person for drow particulars in a roleplay, the more technical, generic applications of rules and structures is a definite (and kinda pathetic) advanced and practiced skill of mine, and I will be happy to help with any troubles, inquiries, or just a little advice if it's wanted.

I believe that this is the right place for me to post this question: Can a NE cleric cast Heal or healing spells?

Chemosh of Krynn I believe that this is the right place for me to post this question: Can a NE cleric cast Heal or healing spells? yes, they can cast them, but they can't spontaneously drop a prepared spell for a healing spell like good clerics...and the healing will most likely not come without some sort of strings attached.

I have another question. If I had my character shapeshift into a huge snake and then had another character cast animal growth on them (which grows animals two sizes) would they be a colossal snake? Or does animal growth not affect shape changed characters.

Animal Growth only increases an animal's size category by one, not two...and the spell description doesn't say whether or not it affects shapechanged characters, but I would assume not since the target would need to be an actual animal...not to mention that spell resistance applies and a successful fortitude save would negate the effect.

This question is more poised for after the Great Reboot happens and after the non-drow ban is lifted but if anyone wants to answer I would be happy: Can we pull character creation information from any D20 resource? Such as the BOVD, only to a degree of course I understand that a few things in there would violate the rules probably. And is the Half-Fiend template designed to cover for half-devils and/or half-demons or just for evil outsiders as a general group of parentage.

As far as character creation goes, they are still going to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis...so if something doesn't fly, we'll let you know.
And for the half-fiend template, since I've yet to see any examples of a half-Yugoloth anywhere, I'm guessing it applies exclusively to half-demons and half-devils
