I just got an Alvarez dana scoop guitar, its pretty good, it looks awesome, but the only problem, is that I really don't understand the Floyd Rose tremolo system. Its really confusing, but overall its a great guitar.

Desktop workstations Vs. Computer software. I have tried both and found that The software is better. The workstations connect to the computer through a USB port on your computer so this is a cheaper connection because if you Just have the sofware you will need a midi, you could use the sound card in the computer but those are usually pretty low quality unless you spend alot for it. Anyways back on track, The transfer of files brings down the quality of the sound. You will still want software so that you can fine tune it. If you just go through the midi to the computer there is less file corruption. It just seems to me that the sound comes out better through the computer. Thats really not a statement I can make because There is crappy software out there and it depends on the MIC but in my prefrence software is better. O and to make this a review I really like the free version of protools, which you can download from Digitechs website. Its worth it, the actual software is thousands. Anyways I say give the software a chance get the free version buy a mic and use you soundblaster soundcard as a midi The MIC you will always have a need for.

Alcides-X what about it confuses you? at first, one of the strings got loose, i thought i broke it, but i didn't know that the string is held by this little square thing, so i just threw it away and whenever i try to downtune to Drop C, the top string would always go out of tune and all the others would stay in tune. I think i got the hang of it, but i can only tune to 7 string B sweatdrop

I know I wouldn't play a guitar without a floyd!

Guitar
12-string, Westfield, non-plug-in.
I could give you a full review if you like; action, toughness, sound-quality etc; but none of that matters - it is a FAULTY INSTRUMENT.
If the open strings are tuned perfectly, then wherever you fret it, it plays sharp. I don't think it could possibly be a fault in the strings, I think it must just be badly made. I'll get a professional opinion, and if I'm wrong, I'll officially retract this statement and appoligise to Westfield.

Alright, here's one for a tremsetter from Hipshot products: www.hipshotproducts.com
Basically, its a stabilizer for your floyd rose that holds it in tune but allows it full function. No longer do doublestop bends go out of tune and no longer does muting rythms make yuor bridge go sharp. Its pretty easy to install, no drilling, only slight soldering.
Sound- Improves tuning stability greatly, making the sound way better, already. Keeps bends in tune too, a major plus on floyds. Durability/Reliability-havent had any problems and it takes plenty of whammy action Customer Support - they're pretty good. If you got questions, they answer promptly. Action, Fit, Finish -Na Features - Basically surmised above. i will get them for all my guitars/ Overall Rating - 10/10.
Note; You Can get them from musiciansfriend.com for cheaper than off their website.

Floyd Rose Speedloader Tremolo
Ok, so now I know some of you have objections to this new tremolo in town but I'm here to say that it's a dream come true for some of us! Some people won't even play a trem and always require a fixed bridge. The reasons I have heard the most are usually that the strings easily go out of tune, or there are complex maintanence issues and it takes an eternity to change a string. Well, thanks to the new Floyd Rose speedloader tremolo, these problems are virtually eliminated. How? Well, the strings are made to scale length (so you buy them in the scale length that fits your guitar). This means no stretching is involved and the strings will actually stay in tune (the minute you put them on, they are practically already in tune!). The strings also have small bullets on the end that snap into the speedloader system, so you can change a string and tune it up in about 20 seconds. In fact, a while back my first speedloader string broke on me (the strings last a long time since there is no stretching involved because they are made to fit your guitar). The first thing I noticed was that the other strings stayed perfectly in tune!! gasp! Then I got out the new string, snapped it into the saddle, and it was installed in about ten seconds. It took me about 10 more seconds to tune the string since it was already practically in tune. Now this was unbelievable, I didn't have to mess with wire cutters, or fight to wind the string around the tuners. It was all done and it was quick, painless and easy. I can only think of a couple of things someone might not like about the speedloader. The first is that there are no tuning keys on the head of a speedloader guitar. This might make the guitar look kind of strange to you (indeed it makes the whole head absoleet but on mine, only the tuning keys are missing); but you get used to it and once you do it almost looks cool (in that sort of simplistic way). The perk of this, however, is that you don't need to lock anything because there is nothing to bring it out of tune. The next thing, my only real compaint, is that once the fine tuners have reached their maximum tuning capability (the screws are too far down or too high) you need to find a 1.5mm (if memeory serves me correctly . . .) allen wrench to tune it further. If you don't have a large selection of allen wrenches, this may prove troubling. Once you get it, however things become extremely easy again. The last downside is that you have to buy special strings for it made by Floyd Rose and these strings are a bit more expensive than normal strings since they are the only ones on the market. Then again, the strings don't break nearly as often as normal ones do (i've probably have 3 breaks on my other floyd in the time that i've had one on the speedloader) so that probably makes up the difference. The speedloader has certainly spoiled me and I know, in the future, if I buy a guitar without one I will be a bit disappointed, hehe. I hope this review will encourage fans of floating trems to go try out a speedloader, i'm sure you'll like it!
Overall Score: 10/10 (It's just so convienient it's hard to think of owning a normal floyd again!)
